And that is exactly what a lot of us have been saying is that Andrew all he has to do is play defense. He don't need to be the first option on offense. We already have plenty of other players that can score.

But some here still insist that he be the alpha dawg. The way I look at it every player has his job to do and Bynums job is blocking shots, rebounding and defense. Because most of the time he is going to get doubled and it will be hard for him to score anyways. What he done today was perfect. Love it!

Your missing one key point .Bynum is our best defensive player and our best offensive player. Just wait Axle, he will deliver us the ring this year. He will be the MVP dude, offensively and defensively. Book it.

How many points did Kobe score anyways. I had an emergency, so I had to leave and didn't see the whole fourth quarter.

IF he does what I have been preaching here in this forum he will be an important part of the puzzle. But he has to play defense and rebound. If only gets one rebound and no blocks and all he would want to do is offense the Lakers will get an early exit. You understand what I am saying?

Howard wont be the same with back issues (ask larry bird, mcgrady and etc) dont get me wrong he was great but this is the present and the future looks even brighter for bynum with far more offensive skills than dwight could ever imagine.

Great playoff win by the TEAM. I just wish fans could be united just ONCE for a change and just savor this victory. One would think we have two teams instead of just one. Kobe this, Andrew that. They're both LAKERS.

Agreed. I just don't get why these fans want drew to score so much. You have kobe who will score. A perfectly good 2nd offensive option in Pau. Metta when he comes back will need his shots to remain consistent offensively as will all the other players. I still say for us to go all the way we need Drew to be more like Bill Russell and less like Wilt.

No, I don't get what your saying. Kobe as well as Drew has to play defense. If it's all on him to play defense, we are screwed. Bynum is great on both ends. We will need his scoring this post season, trust me. Get it?

Excellent post.

Maybe you two don't understand that there are different ways to dominate a game. The main two and more obvious ways are offense and defense. Kobe can do both but he would fall more into the offense style of dominating.

I agree with Tailspin 1000%. I believe it was a team effort tonight. Drew dominated in the post and the rest of the team played good defense on the perimeter. But I also notice that Kobe scored over thirty points, so the Black Mamba done what a shooting guard is suppose to do and that is score.

So if Andrew keeps playing defense, rebound and block shots, that is all we need from him. We got plenty of offense already.

Well, Kobe got his thirty plus points. He was guarding Afflalo. How many points did Afflalo get?

Thank you! I think Kobe done his job on defense also, plus how many assists did he get? Again thank you!

i think this game was perfect.. Kobe didn't really force shots like he normally does.. and everyone did not just stare at kobe to do work they were ready to knock down shots! (ebanks, blake, sessions, pau, barnes). Pau played efficient on both ends( very under appreciated now, still one of the most skill big men in the game) and for bynum, this is what Phil jackson wanted from Bynum is not thinking about offense that much but BEASTING IT ON THE DEFENSIVE END!

I watched the Lakers beat the Nuggets and it was fun to watch. The Lakers have replaced 2 weak starting spots with fast young fresh athletic players.Ramon Sessions and Devin Ebanks helped out the Lakers in all areas today.

I am also really enjoying the play of Jordan Hill he is playing like a lottery pick should play like,i love watching Jordan Hill play against Kenneth Faried it is my favorite matchup in the playoffs so far.Kobe Bryant had a great game today.

Andrew Bynum broke the Lakers record for blocks and tied the all time blocks record today and he messed around and got a triple double the first since 1991 in the playoffs according.

That was way before i ever watched sports. The Lakers are on a good roll right now.I really like seeing Steve Blake shoot the 3 ball he hit a good amount of them in the game today.I am happy with the overall play.I hope the Lakers keep Jordan Hill in the game more he is great at defending the pick and roll.

Don't know if you catch Coach Karl reply during the post-game interview when somebody mentioned that Bynum blocks 10 shots....Coach Karl respond something like "Yea he is playing great illegal defense he zone us good...i think we got about 1 illegal defense, i saw about 30"....

Hmmm i think coach Karl is starting to play mind games with the referees now.....picking up some tips from the Zen Master i supposed...

He is just getting down his excuse for why they have no answer for Drew and why they are going to lose this series. No big deal, just part of the game

You guys are wild on here tonight. lol... How many times has Bynum been on the All-Defensive first team? 0 times... Kobe has earned that honor numerous times. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. There is no need to discuss who the best player on the Lakers is. Its the same as its always been anyways...

Well, nice PO's start. Good team game, nice intensity out there, bench guys producing at a good rate, starters playing team basketball. I would be happier if coach Brown would had put Pau, Kobe & Drew out of the game sooner, but i can live with that.

It's a pleasure to see Pau feeding Drew in the post. These two guys have been playing together at a high rate...Pau leading the game in assists (Cool, while having a well balanced shooting night, Drew being a beast protecting the rim and getting the triple-double...Pau almost got it, too. If you add to this a young couple like Ebanks & Hill who are playing damn good lately, Blake who has got his shot back, Kobe shooting around 50%, Sessions who is able to produce without putting a lot of effort...we're starting to look pretty good.

Now, time to put the 2-0 in the series, Go Lakers! Wink

comparisons this and that, these two (Kobe and Drew) are teammates. Who needs dissention on the team when there's a hella lot right here on this effn thread??? Just be happy we won the game and it was a team effort regardless of how you want to spin it..Drew shined and did his thing but perimeter wise, Denver didn't hit there shots and it seemed like our perimeter D was better and our transition D was good as well. Just an all-around team game with some guys shining more than others but so what they are a team, it be's like that sometimes.................It appears there is deep-seeded jealousy/envy for certain players on a team some of you seem to want to rep and I cannot for the life of me, comprehend! You got madd issues..I will leave it at that...

First of all I think you mean " But more important he can have his imprint on the game just by dominating on the DEFENSIVE end."

Second I congratulate your Clippers team for that comeback. Your team did good.

And did you catch the last OKC-LAL game? Westbrook was 3-20 or something like that and why was that? Because Kobe was guarding him. Kobe has been the defensive stopper most of his years with the Lakers. Right now he isn't because we have MWP and Barnes to take that role but to say Kobe can't dominate a game defensively is just pure stupidity.

I read twice and still cant understand what you were trying to say...

Kobe = 9 times All-Defensive First Team; 2 times All-Defensive Second Team.

The other thing encouraging from the game is Lakers actually have a blossoming youth movement. Most of us were worried that when Kobe & Pau retire that the Lakers had no young players to step in and lead. If the Lakers decide to re-sign a couple of guys, now there's some hope going forward, with Ebanks, Hill, and Sessions to play alongside Bynum.

Ebanks is still looking like a Trevor Ariza doppleganger. Unfortunately, if he plays TOO well in the playoffs, some other team may offer him big bucks that the Lakers aren't willing to match with their luxury tax situation. But if the Lakers could re-sign him for a reasonable amount, they may be able to Amnesty MWP and not slip much backwards. Ebanks isn't as strong as MWP or as dominating a defender, but he's faster, and a reasonably good wing defender.

Hill has come in and played the Lamar Odom role to a T. Rebounding, a little bit of offense, strong defense. Okay, so he couldn't play point, like Odom reasonably could, but he seems to be a more reliable 3rd big than either Murphy (some offense, very little defense) or McRoberts (good hustle on defense, very little offense).

And Sessions played with composure for his first playoff game. Didn't try to do too much, played decent defense on Ty Lawson (easier when Bynum is playing like a beast behind him). Hit enough shots to be a credible threat so that players couldn't leave him as much to double Kobe/Pau/Bynum

Cmon the Whole NBA is delusional , Kobe is past it for 3 seasons now, never mind the 2 rings.. LOL Damn i love the way Bynum plays , he would be the main scorer in 20 out of 30 teams in the League but Lakers is not one of them, he needs to step behind one of the GOAT .

Afflalo? he is not even a focal point on their offense, kobe scored becuz bynum initiated the defensive and he got wide open lay ups.. pls stop your nonsense..

Laughing now Kobe only scores because Bynum initiates the defense. Those 15.2 points per game for Afflalo don´t matter, it´s all nonsense. This is getting more adventurous by the day.

Haha MSDS..." was great"..lol. I guess scoring 31 points in a playoff game is considered mediocre nowadays. I'm waiting for Sessions to get a triple double in the next game, so it can become his team now...lmao!!

the thing that makes me LOL is that 99% of the NBA analyst still says this is Kobe's team, and is in top 3-5 in the MVP race behind Durant, LBJ, i know Bynum has a huge impact for the Lakers.. but cmon srly this is bynums team? at 33 years old and still performing as a top 5 player in the whole league is just insane... Bynum still has alot to prove.. its like saying Chris Bosh is better then Lechoke.. give bynum 2-3 years then lets see.. Also how can this be Bynum team if he has 0% leadership?

You're comparing bosh to Bynum? bosh to Bynum?

being a leader does not mean its your team,, fish was a leader and he was not the best player on this team..

It's reached a point where I'm seriously considering the fact that you're trolling with Kobe fans just to garner a response instead of actually believing what you post lol.

I dont have to that my friend you kobesters are allergic to Bynum. its his team now and would be nice to see Bynum give kobe his 6th ring... that he long for... would be a nice complement by the new king of lakers to the old one..
