^^Yeah the offensive line for the Patriots was amazing in that drive- you give Brady time and he'd do a 10 for 10.

CRAZY game- Giants scored a touchdown that they really did NOT want to score at that point. Not smart to go into the endzone like that.

Another close game between the Pats and Giants. So what else is new? lol. But this year, the Giants went two for two against NE, including a win up in NE where nobody but NE wins. So from my view, although their games are close, they showed they are the better team. Two for two is just that.

It was a great, close game, between two top teams, both of whom really wanted it. Both of whom made great adjustments throughout the game in their efforts to get the winning edge. It was terrific ball by two teams who showed exactly why each was in the big dance. When these two teams hook up, the one thing you will know before the game is that it will be close all the way through to the last seconds. And so it was again.

Last week on this thread I said if I were handicapping this game I would make the Giants four point favorites. The final score? Giants 21- Pats 17. Four points. I thought the fans who in fact set the lines, based on how the bookies get the bets were enamored of Brady and Billichek in establishing them as three point favs. But fans are mostly wrong. Thats why bookies usually make a nice living. The Giants just seemed to me to be a bit better better when you looked at both sides of the ball and overall talent. At least in my view. That is why I would have made them the slight favorites.

Of course Eli Manning now has two SBs, which is one more than his more heralded brother, lol. And he also gets his superbowl rings at the expense of the team, NE, and the player, Brady, who always seemed to surpass Peyton Manning.

Eli certainly had risen to elite status this year before thie second SB win. But it just cements it all the more.

Also, the Giants are really starting to literally strip NE, Brady and Billichek of some unusual history and greatness. If it were not for those two SB losses to the Giants, Brady and Billichek would now perhaps have five rings. And so would that franchise.

The Giants are seriously starting to f*ck with Brady's and Billcheks legacy. No, I don't mean take them out of the hall of fame, where they will go, but prevent them from being considered the best ever at what they do, and being part of one of the greatest teams ever. All of which would now be theirs if they had won those two Giants Superbowls. But now it is not. That is some SERIOUS legacy loss the Giants are now inflicting on that team and those two great NFL participants. About as serious as it gets.

What surprised me about the game? Well, I thought NE did a much better job at holding down the Giants offense than I thought they would. But in the end, they did kind of crack open on that last drive. NE was amazing they got as far as they did with that jerry rigged defense.

Poor Wes Welker. The guy is GREAT. He will make that catch 499 times out of 500. This was the 500th time, lol. In the freaking superbowl. A goat. Man, for the rest....of.....his......life. A goat. Yep. That just how its gonna be. And thats how cruel it can be, even for a great player who fails at the wrong time with the world watching.

I wasn't really rooting for anyone. Just for a good game. It was kind of funny, you see. I have some PAT fans as friends and some Giant fans as friends. And yes, some are cocky, lol. So when the Giants had the edge, the cocky Giant fans texted me with all their baloney. Then when NE was ahead, their cocky fans did the same!

Consequently, my allegiance kind of shifted around a bit, back and forth, lol, depending on the last cocky fans text I got.

But in the end, it didn't really matter to me. I don't root for either of those teams, nor hate either one.

I guess the one thing I will be glad about with the Giants winning is I won't have to hear a certain segment of deluded NE players talking about how the owner Robert Krafts recently departed wife led them to the championship from her seat in heaven.

I always find it so idiotic when some player or person associated with some team dies, they they go onto win the title and some of the moronic players or fans actually think a dead person directed their sports team to the title.

I would say this, does this mean Mrs. Kraft was pissed off today, whereever she may be, and decided to punish her husband and the team and players, all of whom she loved so much by having them lose? Sounds freakin stupid, doesn't it? And thats my point. So does thinking some dead person is directing sports team to wins with some beyond the grave powers. Its all stupid. It may happen in a Hollywood movie. But not on the real earth we live on. And nice that in this case, I don't have to hear it come from some stupid people, which certainly would have happened if they had won.

As to the end of that game and TD vs laying on the ground to run time off and kicking the field goal? I would have taken the TD just as the Giants did. Simply because with 58 seconds to go, you dont turn down the lead. If you sit on it, then kick the FG, and it gets blocked or snap is fumbled, you shoot yourself in the damn head for not taking a lead in that game, lol. With 58 seconds left in the SB, you take the freakin lead of more than a FG. You never know what may happen in a kick. Screw that.

Well, seems like this thread just started yesterday. We went through a long, but very fast year. So much happened. My Steelers got humilated by a HS team and their lousy freak show QB. The most embarrassing playoff loss in Steelers history in my book. A loss that shakes my belief in Coach Mike Tomlin and got our offensive coordinator fired, rightfully so. A loss I also think should have gotten our legendary but very old (in his 70s) defensive cooridinator, D*ck Lebeau fired as well. So I shall see what next year brings after that debacle.

Green Bay had a season for the ages, then gave up the ghost to the Giants in a shocker. But not such a shocker now, right?

A bright new star coach appeared upon the league in Frisco.

Peyton Manning has obviously played his last game at Indy and will be plying his trade elsewhere next season. That should be interesting if he goes to the right team and can compete again. And in Indy, we shall see one of the most heralded new QB's in many years arrive to play: Oliver Luck. Welcome to the big time, kid. Lets see what you got. And oh, good luck following Peyton Manning, lol. Your gonna need it, no matter how good you are.

NE almost, almost added to many reputations there, but fell short. Something they are getting used to over the last eight years. Sorry PATS fans, but true.

And in the end, its little Eli Manning and Coach Coughlin, who once again take their next steps towards the Hall of Fame at the expense of two legends from Beantown.

Congrats to both those guys and that oh-so- tough team. They earned it the hard way, just like they did four years ago. Beating the best on the road and in the SB. These two guys, this team, have guts and grit to go with the talent. They are the real deal. Thats why they win like they do.

And for all the fans like me, except for you Giant fans, whose teams did not get what you wanted, the NFL scouting combine starts in 18 days!! Very Happy

Well, some predictable fallout has started in NE over their second straight SB loss to the Giants.

But it comes from an unusual source: Tom Brady's vapid, moronic super model wife, Giselle Bundchen.

Now my own thoughs on Giselle over the years have been limite to: "This chica is waaaay overated. She looks as average as a month old white bread you take out late at night when you want a sandwich."

I mean I'm sure others think she is super fine, looks like many things being subjective. But for me, no, she does nothing.

But now I have formed a stronger opinion based on her actions over the last week. First she emailed friends, asking them to pray for her "Tommy" to win the superbowl. Blah! Heres another idiot who lives in a Hollywood world instead of the real one. She actually thinks you can petition some god with prayer to influence and affect a sporting event that is only influenced and affected by the humans who play it. You know, and the diety says, "Oh, OK Giselle, ,why not?" And zap, New Englands gonna win. She thinks thats possible. Idiot red flag goes up.

Then after the loss, when that god did not answer her supplications, she starts to yell at gloating Giant fans, "My husband can't f*cking throw the ball and catch it too!"

Gee, Giselle, where did that religous attitude go there? So your god said NO. Now you have to go from prayer to dropping the F bomb? Idiot red flag goes up a mile high.

Well, not hard to figure she is calling out one of Bradys best friends and teamates, Wes Welker and most likely the injured Gronkowski too. Nice. So you have this mental defective, shooting off her mouth about something she knows nothing about-football and reality and causing Brady to now be in a very uncomfortabe situation with teamates and friends.

She never learned football is a team game. That many plays go into making a loss or win. That players make mistakes. Even Brady, who forgot the rule book in throwing to nobody from the end zone to avoid a sack and incurring a safety. Or throwing a pass to a covered WR for an interception later in that same game.

She also, in that "me is everything" mentality so many stars have, quickly forgot all those games, all those hundreds of catches Welker and now Gronkowski have excelled in, helping her Tommy so much in doing what he does and in winning so many games. That is all forgotten by her so fast.

What a catch Giselle is!!

You know, people admire Brady. And are jealous of him, for obvious reasons. Would I trade places with him? Oh, yeah, in minute. But if some god gave me that offer, I would accept....with one condition... Giselle has to disappear, lol. Fame and money are nice, but nothing is worth living with that kind of mindless, self centered moron.

Here are two stories about Giselle, her outburst, and the interesting curse of Giselle. That curse being, ever since Brady hooked up with her, he can't win a superbowl!! Hmmmm........

'My husband can not f****ing throw the ball AND catch the ball': Gisele Bundchen defends Tom Brady after Super Bowl defeat
By Daily Mail Reporter

Gisele Bundchen last week asked friends to pray for her husband Tom Brady ahead of one of the most 'important days' of his life.

But the appeals to a higher power went unanswered at the Super Bowl XLVI yesterday - and she was not happy.

Just moments after his team the New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants 21-17, the supermodel was overheard responding furiously to taunts from a Giants fan.

While waiting for the elevator to leave the VIP suites at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Giselle let rip in a F-word rant which saw her slam his teammates efforts on the field.

In video footage capture by theinsider.com, she was heard saying: 'My husband can not f****ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times.'

Second article from the Boston Herald:

Gisele or Jinxele? The warning signs were Giant

By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa with Megan Johnson / Inside Track
Monday, February 6, 2012 - Updated 1 hour ago

INDIANAPOLIS " In the end, the spirit of Myra Kraft could not overcome the Curse of the Babe, and the New England Patriots [team stats] went down again to Eli Manning and the hated New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.

Not to Monday-morning quarterback this, but we should have seen it coming.

How many times do we have to point out to you Tom Brady [stats]’s sad playoff numbers since the dawn of the Gisele Bundchen era? But here’s the only stat that matters " the Super Bowl stat: Brady with Bridget Moynahan, 2-0 (Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX); Brady with Laura Kinsman, 1-0 (Super Bowl XXXVI); Brady with Bundchen, 0-2 (Super Bowls XLII and XLVI).

Even the supermodel’s plea for prayers earlier this week couldn’t turn the tide and Reverse The Curse. But that was only one of the very bad omens for Brady & Co. that bubbled up in Indy this week. Let’s call them the Seven Signs of the Super Bowl Apocalypse (Revisited).

Steelers are gonna sign Todd Haley today as the new Offensive Coordinator! He ran a great machine with Warner over in Arizona. If he can replicate that to a good degree, I will one happy man! WooWoo!!

Good by Mr. Arians and your screwy *ss offense. Lets get the new season started now, lol.

KB24*BM, to me it's anyone's guess where Manning will land. I've seen articles about several teams being a good fit, including my Chiefs. But most analysts now are saying Denver, and they're assuming that the Broncos will dump (trade) Tebow. I don't fully understand that one. It could be smart to let Tebow go, but it seems like the best fits would be a team where Manning is not an all-or-nothing move because he is a risk at this point, no matter how good he was in the past.

I think Miami and Broncos are the front runners right now. Titans owner wants to get Manning no matter what, but I don't know if he will.

Arizona is 16 million over the cap and have to be cutting a lot of players to sign Manning. Wherever Manning goes Reggie Wayne follows, so you have to have money to sign him too.

Also if Manning is at least 90% of what he should be, I think My Eagles should consider signing him. I love M Vick and all, but It's PEYTON MANNING we are talking about here. lol

KB,

Im not sold on some Manning-Reggie Wayne scenario package deal. I have not read one article or seen one TV report that links Manning signing with Wayne.

And Arizona has Larry Fitzgerald. If I'm Manning and it's between Wayne and Fitz, well, then its screw Wayne. No contest.

Well...just in preparation for NFL 2012, I'm sure Randy (SPQR) is horribly disappointed that the Steelers didn't trade for Tim Tebow! A moment of silence for Randy and his loss........................................

...........................................................

Okay. That's over now. Thank you for your participation!

But you all should know that the Steelers had TWO of the most versatile non-QB QB's (or slash players) in NFL history in Kordell Stewart and Antwaan Randle El. Of course the difference between those two and Tebow is that they could actually PASS the ball. LOL

Randy, I feel your pain. Wink

LMAO,

Dan, you know me so well!! Yes, I am still not over it. Well, the Jets certainly have many championships ahead now!!

Now comedy aside, the Jets getting Tebow just reinforces my strong impression that Rex Ryan is about as dumb as he looks. Now instead of having just a bad QB, he also has a horrible one, a freakshow really, for the fans to chant for when Sanchez starts throwing his picks. Boy, that is gonna be one fun team to watch this year. Not in a football sense, but as a circus. With ringmaster Ryan right in the middle. Best thing that can happen to that team is to lose all year, fire Ryan, have a high pick and get a REAL QB. Then they may have some future eventually.

As for Kordell, well, compared to Tebow he could pass, but that is damning with faint praise. After two years of watching him, I wanted his *ss out of here. But it took seven long years! That was fun too! So were all the playoff losses he helped us get.

Well, Its the Broncos for Manning. Should be interesting what happens there. They have a decent D. But Manning will need more weapons. I heard they are interesting in our own Mike Wallace. But also heard Frisco was too and he scared them away with an incrediable demand for Larry Fitzgerald money! Talk about delusional! Hope he asks for the same if Denver comes calling.

The other big story in my book, Mario Manningham signing with Frisco. They sorely needed a speedy deep threat and now they got one. That Harbaugh is certainly out to win and hes trying to close that last gap. They will be very strong next year....if Alex Smith can keep playing well.

Dan, I am curious. I heard some Manning to the Chiefs talk early on. Were you wanting him? Were you disappointed he didn't come? Or did you think all along it wouldn't happen?

And lastly, how do you feel about having Manning in your division? How do you size him up in Denver?

Randy, some of the initial articles about Manning to KC must have been wishful thinking on the part of those reporters. But their reasoning did make sense at the time as a good destination for Manning. While I'd love to see an upgrade at the QB position for the Chiefs, I had a feeling that the whole thing could have just as easily sidetracked the organization away from the progress that they have made in the past few years and crippled them for player personnel moves in the near future.

So, to answer the question, I wasn't really into seeing him go to the Chiefs. That was especially true after seeing the asking price! There's just too much risk involved in that kind of commitment to a considerably older player like that. I'm sure Manning is going to bust his high dollar a$$ to try to return at a high level and contribute. And it may work well for the Broncos and it may blow up in their faces. Of course I'm hoping for the latter!

San Fran is in such a good situation right now as long as they're still hungry to win. Look how close they may have been to being a Super Bowl winner last year! If it weren't for a couple of dumbass "I'm gonna be a hero" plays they would have been there instead of the Giants. I feel for Alex Smith that he basically got slapped in the face with the revelation that his organization doesn't think that highly of him. But if he can swallow his pride and go at it hard again, they should be in great shape. He's at least a decent QB even if he's not top flight. They should be one of the favorites in the NFC.

I may be the wrong guy to ask about how I feel about Manning being in the AFC West. I still have nightmares about his nearly perfect playoff game in Kansas City a few years back when I think there was only one punt in the game (by the Chiefs). The Chiefs played a good game, but Manning's perfection was ridiculous.

Manning may see the AFC West as a cakewalk. If that's one of his primary reasons for choosing Denver, then I have a feeling he may get surprised by the intensity of some of the rivalries within the division. Yes, the division kind of sucked last year, but the teams go after each other pretty hard. He might get a little surprised by the physicality in the division. And...we don't play in DOMES! lol

Def,

I didn't. My Steelers got a steal with Stanford monster guard David Delcastro who was rated the best guard in the league. He was projected to go much higher and the magazine I had rated him the 11th best player in the draft. He anchored the line that allowed Andrew Luck to dominate and be the first player taken.

With the firing of offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and the drafting of Delcastro, my Steelers are finally addressing the coaching and line problems that have hurt this teams offense for years.

I couldn't be happier with both developments.

How did the first round go for you?

How about the rest of the LTB football fans?

Friday night will be the night when most teams make or break their draft, so much more still to come.

Holy sh*t!

You go from 13 years of Manning to another great QB. Hope you know how fortunate you are. Most teams are sentenced to decades of QB purgatory and team futility after a great Qb leaves.

I've experienced it and let me tell you, it SUX!

Yeah the Colts are very lucky to draft Luck, but the Colts did let go of a lot of good players too.

Def,

Yes, you have much rebuilding to do. But you have that one hardest to find, indispensible piece: the great, young QB. Be patient my friend. Good times will come again if your FO does its job.

It seems as though the FO is committed to making it back to the good times.

Oh, by the way, Def, my condolences in hiring numbskull Bruce Arians as your offensive coordinator. He got fired from that spot from Cleveland years ago and I suffered with him for years here in that job. Ive wanted him fired for years now and finally after last years offensive debacle, they did fire him.

Now you will have to suffer with him for a while. Hope not too long a while.

The draft is over. Both ESPN and the NFL channel said my Steelers had the best draft of anyone. In all the years I have been following the draft, the first time that has been said.

I have to admit, I was excited as it developed. In one draft, with the addition of DeCastro and Adams, we went from having perhaps the worst offensive line to the potential of having one of the best. The line has killed my team for so long, and Big Ben, that finally the team realized it had to address this problem. And boy did they ever.

Also got a nice nose tackle to spell the old and fading Casey Hampton which was a huge concern. Got that little RB from Florida, Rainy, who may be the fastest player in the draft. Teaming him with Brown and Wallace will give us three deep threat game breakers. Never have seen so much speed weapons on a Steelers team.
With the firing of my bete noir, offensive coordinatory Bruce Arians and the additions in this draft, I know have hope the Steelers will take their place with Green Bay, New Orleans, New England as one of the offensive juggernauts of the NFL. What can I say? I am ready for the season, lol.

I know translating a draft from paper to field performance is a big if, but boy, I love what they did on paper.

How do you other NFL fans feel about your teams drafts? Happy? Not happy? Not sure?
