I don't know about you guys, But when Ron Artest changed his name to "World Peace" I thought that he had officially gone nuts. But to my shagrin, It was even worse than I even expected. Because when he changed his name... His game changed along with it.
World Peace's game turned "peace"ful. He no longer played with that edge that made him a top defender in the league for his whole career. In a word, he turned soft. He was barely a shell of himself for most of this shortened season. It was quite sad.
But recently Ron Artest has made....Please log in to view the entire post.

i said this in the game thread but i think its the truth. metta is used to having the ball in has hands for more than just open jumpshots. and with kobe out he has had a bigger role in the offense.
i think that mike B should look to keep metta involved in the offense even when kobe comes back. metta needs to get into an offensive groove in order to hit those open 3ptrs |

| While I'm a huge Artest fan and think he is a huge defensive asset ITS ONLY ONE GAME. Lets count our marbles when he goes into the post-season hot. |

| As much as I love this, I still think its too early to say. Some players go on streaks, and some go long, some are short. I'm hoping old Ron is back, but I think we still have to give him a few more games to say. He's been playing fantastic, and as long as he keeps it up in these upcoming weeks with the playoffs starting, I think we'll have a good run for that championship. Ron is starting to become the Lamar Odom the Lakers used to have. He's starting to become that X-Factor, where if he plays well, our team does well. But if he struggles, its a much tougher time on the team to get a win. But we'll see how Ron, oh excuse me, Metta, does in the upcoming games. |

I'm glad you started this thread, PurpleKnight. I've been saying since before this season started that it would take some time, but MWP/Ron Artest would have a solid season and be ready for the playoffs. Not only tonight, but time and again he has proven his worth to our team. He has the heart of a champion, and that goes for even before he won a championship with the Lakers.
He knows what it takes to win games and he is very keen at knowing when and how to insert himself into the game. Oh, and did I mention he's fully capable of guarding the opposing team's best player on a nightly basis? Because he is |

Ive noticed he when he plays good and knocking down the 3, everything comes easy for the rest of the team. |

| MWP has been great since Sessions came, actually, all have improve their game because of Sessions presence, that's what a true PG makes this team better. the offense look flawless every play while Sessions is in.Blake is playing better too. |

| As i said before...if we was to beat the spurs at their house we would pretty much go 7-1 in these last 8 games....going into the playoffs hot and with confidence is a very good thing for this team...just wait and see!!! |

This didn't just happen tonight. Ron Artest has turned things around for around a month now. With him playing his best ball the past 2 weeks. Matter of fact since The Houston Rocket game Artest is averaging 19.0 ppg, 3.5 rbds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals & 0.75 blks per game!
These numbers rival or beat his career numbers of 14.2 ppg, 4.7 rbds, 3.0 assists, 1.9 steals & 0.6 blks per game for his career.
It is this LTB members opinion that Ron Artest (forget that "Peace"ful guy) is rounding into playoff mode just in the knick of time. Since we have only 7 games left in the season. And a "Bad Boy" Ron Artest is one heck of an X-Factor to have in the intense battles of the playoffs. He already proved what he is capable of in that game 7 against The Celtics. He was that X-Factor that won the game for us in that role.
.......Welcome Back Ron-Ron! |

Great game by World Peace....he shows us, actually REMINDED us how good he was offensively if given the green light.....Without Kobe he knows that scoring should come somewhere else....Just like Pau and Bynum knows that they should carry some offensive load that Kobe provides...
With Kobe coming back, Ron will be ask to limit his shots once again....Ron will be back to his usual role in the team...shooting those wide open 3's.....which he does not do very well given the limited shots he will get...
I want to see Kobe sits more games and let the team get some confidence on their game.... |

RekalAL,
That's not necessarily true. Yes, Kobe does limit shots for Artest (& others). But Artest actually raised his game to a Championship level against The Rockets. Where he had 23 points, 9 rbds & 4 assists. And Kobe did play in that game. |

Ron is just a tough S.O.B. and he always plays well when he remembers that. Plus, I like the fact that he is clutch, and plays with that championship swagger. That's something a player like Beasley very well may not have had on the Lakers. You can't forget that BIG 3 Ron Ron MWP hit against the Hornets last game. CLUTCH.
It's great to see MWP playing some serious ball. We needed somebody on the wing to step up with Kobe out, and MWP has answered the call. |

| That's so true lakeshowsd. People are too quick to point out regular season stats. Yet don't put enough weight on Championship mettle. And Ron-Ron certainly has shown us what he's made of after that game 7 against Boston. You don't get any bigger than that in The NBA than Lakers vs Celtics in a winner takes all game 7. And Ron Artest came up huuge that game. Players like him are invaluable during the playoffs & big games. He does all the dirty work while playing tough shut em' down Defense! I'll take him to go into battle anyday! |

| It's a perfect time to see Ron Artest back on the floor. If he continues to be engaged in the game, especially in the playoffs, this Laker team will be difficult to beat in a 7-game series. |

| He got his memory back on how to play basketball again. Remember when he first got to the Lakers he slipped and bust his head around Christmas and it messed him up. I think he is getting his memory back on how he used to play, and it couldn't have come at a better time lol. |

| I was just saying yesterday that Ron was the #1 option on many of his previous teams and then he goes out and proves my point by being the leading scorer " against the Spurs! I love basketball and I really love watching Ron play at the level of his capability. I have not been happy with Brown for many reasons, but you have to give him props for helping to bring back the old Ron. Brown coached Ron when he was the #1 option. He knows what he is capable of. Coaching Ron is one thing that Brown has done better than PJ. If we get this Ron from here out, we won’t be missing LO anymore. We will be looking at another parade! |

I just hope MWP will continue to have good games until the end of this season....It will be good for him and the Lakers....Teams will see some value on him....It will be wise for the FO to trade MWP next season....another year pass, another season, he will get slower....This is a good opportunity to improve the bench next season.... |

| Thank God Metta World PEACE is out of our team. Looks like Ron Artest killed him! But still, people don't overreact and get overly excited. Just because he has been great doesn't mean he's going to put 15 points a game in the playoffs, and even if he does that still doesn't mean a parade for sure. Get excited but not too much. Keep it realistic |
