He was broadcasting with Stu Lance tonight vs.
Clippers. Stu said Joel Myers was "on assignment."
I thought Steve had good chemistry with Stu for his first game.
Joel sounds like a robot gameshow host from another era. Plus he is just not a professional.
I'm sure he did very well at Broadcasting School, but he always has such very strong opinions instead of just calling the game with class.
Opinion and bias will always creep in, but is his job, better yet, his obligation to be objective.
He gets down on players, refs, even coaches. Stu stays silent, or covers with a "well that is a very tuff play to call" or "refs are people to".
I realize my standards are high.
I grew up on Ckick Hearn.
I respect and enjoy Stu Lance.
I was getting used to Paul Sunderland.
Joel Myers... is a bad dream.
Wake up Laker Management.
Keep Joel "on assignment".
Go Steve?
P.S.
While your cleaning house, someone please take the mic away from Mychel Thompson ( Radio). He cannot even speak an understandable brand of English most of the time.

I agree. I hated Joel at first. just didn't like his voice. Then I got used to him a little bit. But then, after awhile, I just decided we could do better. But yeah, I grew up with Chick Hearn as well. So I'm spoiled. But I liked Sunderland better as well. Nobody is ever going to replace Chick. The only guy who could come close is "Hot Rod Huntley" and ex Laker who is calling games for Utah. He has fire in the belly like Chick. JamFan
