Ronny Turiaf Ends His Fairy Tale Run In LA

Ronny Turiaf's fairy tale NBA career in Los Angeles as a Laker has come to and end. It was an improbable story. After being drafted by the Lakers and before he ever played a game, he was found to have a heart problem that led to an open heart surgery. His return to the court was faster than most expected, and his heart and his energy, his determination to make it back, was something that endeared him to the fans here. He did it always with that smile. He was sometimes a starter, sometimes the bench player, but always the cheerleader who danced and pranced on the sidelines like no other player in the history of the game. Laker fans probably don't even as yet realize how much they will miss Ronny. But they will notice next season that something is missing. Something is not no longer there. Ronny will be gone. Money can't buy what Ronny Turiaf brings to the world. He makes you smile. JamFan

Amen to that. Ronny always brought a smile to my face. He was easily the most like-able player on the squad, and he will definitely be missed. We'll win the championship next year in his honor. xP

Don't forget that the Lakers organization paid for his heart surgery out of their own pocket. I woudn't be too surprised to see Ronny back in the purple and gold in the next few years.
