Farmer & Green Light It Up!

JamFan In last nights Summer Pro League game in Long Beach the Lakers lost 111 - 108. But summer league isn't so much about winning, but about who is playing well. Jordan Farmer capped off his fine season with 23 points. Devin Green is starting to raise eye brows with his third strong performance in a row. At 6'7" he is the prototype guard that Coach Jackson likes for his triangle offense. Last night he hit 10 of 17 shots on his way to 22 points, 3 rebs, 2 assists, and 2 steals in only 29 minutes. How you gonna keep him down on the farm. It looks like he just may be moving on up either with the Lakers or maybe another team. Marcus Douthtit had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Marcus Slaughter continued to make noise with 17 points and 9 rebounds in only 24 minutes. My report is coming from my good friend and basketball playing buddy Stan "the Man" Harris who attended the game. He was mostly disappointed by Baby Bynum not playing last night due to a bone bruise in the knee. He said that Jordan Farmer was very active. He also said he could see why the Lakers liked Devin Green, because he played very well and he is a very tall guard. Next up, big man camp for Baby Bynum. There will be a quiet spell for a lot of us during the summer while we wait for the pre season camp. I have no idea how we are going to get our basketball fix. We are literally going to run out of things to write about unless Laker management starts flapping their lips and spread a bunch of trade rumors. Otherwise it will be all is quiet on the home front. went to last nights game...wow! there was a post yesterday about the lakers playing there last game, an i commented about the lakers playing that night, and that being there last game. well, the post was, in fact, correct. tuesday was there last game. they came out wednesday night just like that. thats the thing about blowouts and high scoring affairs, the question always is, ok, how will they play tomorrow. the lakers looked a steps slow, a day late and a dollar short....alot had to do with the refs and there ticky tack calls. the ref with with no number on the back of his shirt will never get one at the rate he blows his whistle. someone needs to tell them, this is SPL, not the PAC - 10.
slaughter and douthit both had some nice dunks, nothing empressive. a grizzlies player on the other had served up a rim rattler over a bewildered lakers no name. the usual players for the lakers stood out: farmar, pinnock-who came close to a highlight reel dunk, perkins, green, slaughterhouse.
funny how the remainer players are just there to make the squad whole.
lakers got this 7'0 center, i dunno why. they could have easily let slaughter play backup center. we know slaughter. devin greens been in the weight room, good to see. von wafer had some shades, or more like tints, of what he could become. lets remember, he's only going on 21. a suggestion was made in another post about the lakers making roster changes to clear space and sign slaughterhouse, perkins and pinnock, SPL gems if you ask me.
of special interest would be the halftime show. we've seen them before, the craziness, the fan appreciation, the hoopla and the yada yada. the nights challenge: shooting money balls: 1 from the 3 point line for $100 and then shooting the rock from half court for the whole shabbang $400. if you were there you might have caught me shooting. i had the lakers white and blue baylor jersey on, the headband to match. well, since i'm here posting today, and not tomorrow, you know wh

Yeah, SPL is a gas. Not only can you sit where you want, you might be sitting next to Rick Fox, or another NBA player, or a celebrity. All for chump change. JamFan
