i definitely agree with you. i mentioned that to a couple people here that the best thing to do is stockpile talent especially if its younger talent like vlad radmonivic, odom, bryant, and bynum. id like to see us do a sign and trade for banks or wilcox offering mihm and cook and maybe a draft pick. the more talent we have on this team the easier its going to be to acquire guys like lebron, bosh, and carmelo. these guys are signing extention for security but dont be surprised in a couple years when they ask to be traded. those organizations were never committed to winning and give it a couple years before these players want out. what we need in la is to have players that we can trade for them. so forget about having all that money to spend in a couple years cause there will be no one left good to sign. lets get guys like wilcox, and banks through sign and trades and then we will make a run at these players through trades.

That comment is just ignorant 3 out of the 4 players you named off started a fair amount for the laker ball club last year. Walton is starting to blossom as a role player and has great intelligence for the game of basketball. Smush, though indecisive sometimes, will also improve as time progresses. His defense needs much improvement, but I do not think he should be let go just yet. As for the veterens that are probably not going to return this year that is because the lakers do not have anymore money to afford their salaries. Devean George will be greatly missed, but he is injury prone and starting to show some age. Things are starting to look up for this squad. If the lakers can find a point guard that can play some defense, we have a good shot next year.
