Andrew Bynum on Trade Block?/ Free Agents

The New News out of the Los Angeles Times reports that the Lakers will utilize Kwame Brown as Center and put Andrew Bynum on the mound as Trade Bait. The question with Bynum is, What is he worth. With only 1 year of experience and NO college ball teams don't know what to offer for the One Year Veteran. Before the 2005 draft Bynum did not expect to enter the draft. After playing at the McDonalds All-American game and the Jordan Classic he decided to enter the draft since many teams had expresed intrest in him. After the Lakers drafted Bynum in the 2005 draft 10th overall most fans were shocked to see him go that early. Everyone knew he was going to be a work in progress so why trade him? He is a developing Center and has promising signs that he well morph into a premeir Big Man. With the Lakers special hiring of Kareem Abdul-Jabar, fans knew he was hired to help Bynum. Bynum has everything he need to develop in Los Angeles so why getrid of him? This all may have to do with the Lakers pursuing free-agent PG Marcus Banks. If Banks is signed he will want a medium salary and a long term contract. Are the Lakers going to trade Bynum for money purposes? With te Lakers wanting to win NOW not in the future could all lead to the Bynum speculations.

Andrew Bynum and his situation, as well as the other possibilities, only underscores the fact Kupchak does not have a plan. He and Phil don't seem to want the same things, and I trust Phil moreso that Mitch. Every year he's scrambling to make moves. If Bynum wasn't the choice, why pick him so high? There are players with more experience if that is the plan. Or is it?

You have a good point, Phil and Kupcake have different futures. After picking Bynum so high and after he has had developed into a backup Center why get rid of him? I also trust Phil Jackson more than Kupcake in making decisions for the team and the future.

Keep in mind that most of what we hear regarding what Coach Jackson wants and what Kupcake might be thinking is just hearsay and rumor at this point. Most of what we are reading now is sportswriters speculating or dreaming up things on their own. It is the reason that in most of the articles that I write, I use a headline that ends with ???????? Between now and July 10 we will have a better idea of what is really going to happen with our roster. But for now it is fun for all of us to dream about what we would like our roster to look like. The good news is, there definitely are things we can do now to upgrade fo the upcoming season. I expect us to be better, quicker, stronger, and a better shooting team for next year. JamFan

You are right. We know nothing for sure. Sports Writers write stuff to attract the reader it doesn't mean it's always true.

First of all I have lil doubt that the lakers would trade Andrew Bynum or Lamar Odem this offseason. simply because the lakers now saw what type of player Lamar Odem could really be now that he understands the triangle from watch him in the playoffs. The man is a 6'10 versitile forward who can play both 3 an 4 position he also creates match up problems against other teams, have you all forgotten the way he bullied shawn marrion in the playoffs. As for Andrew Bynum the Kid is a project as we all know and has the potential to be a great player in this league he's been tutored by kareem and it is said that he's still growing, so what the lakers should do is get him in the weight room and next year let him play about 10 to 18 min a night so he can get an understanding of the game. And to me what we should focus on is a point guard that been marcus banks because he soot and defends excellent and he's young because every year we waste money on old veterans Vlade, makie and we dont even get 15 games out of them we need youth as well as experience. So If I'm mitch Kupchack I go after Marcus banks trade chris Mihm for the 16 pick from the bulls and get the best definsive big man in the draft that plays PF. cause you can never have to many bigs. And also fell they should also help devlope runny turiaf into a start player cause this guy has potental size knowledge for the game he's active on the boards an he hustle don't be surprise if he has a break out year ass a role player next year.

In article I read in the L.A times Mitch kupchak reportly stated that Mihm is the likely one to trade saying that Kwame plays better at the center position an that Bynum is the future at center. Now I know our issues with the sallary cap wich is why I came up with this I dea.
How bout the lakers Trade Mihm, cook, an vuighic or Makie (if not retires) to the sonics for chris wilcox. Think about it cook is a desent player but phil's not to much thrill over him and is said he likes turiaf more so. been that cooks not defensively solid and really is much of a post player wich is what you mostly need at his position in the triangle. And been that the sonics need a solid center an cook fits better in there offense scheme they maybe sell for the trade an been that they have a high pick in the draft they dfaft a PF sence they have perimeter shooters and they woul be given a solid center who can produce right away. Which woul work for the lakers cause wilcox can rebound and block shots some we lack and we should have money left to sign marcus banks wich improve our point guard position. start 5 Bryant, Banks, Odem, Wilcox, Brown. bench Parker, Jackson, Walton, Turriaf, Bynum. and its been said that the lakers have a chance in also signing sprewell if he want to take a paycut, Grant hill if doesent retire, and Penny Hardway. An that would improve our defense because our offense not the problem. shot blockers, rebounders an a strong interior defense. What do yall think

Kupchak is now downplaying the idea of trading Bynum so it looks like he is safe and sound in LA
