While watching the telecast of the CAVS vs Lakers yesterday, Jeff Van Gundy said something about Lamar Odom and Luke Walton that I totally agree with, but got me to thinking. He said that they are both unselfish players who look to set up other people first, which I think is true. Unfortunately, that's one of the Lakers' problems, people don't want to shoot the ball, even when they'e open. One thing that holds true for me personally when playing is that when I'm looking for other people first, I can't shoot as well. However, when I'm looking to shoot first I can splash with the best of them. We need some folks who want to shoot, and more importantly who can knock down the shots. When we lost Bynum, we lost size and rebounding, but most of all, someone who doesn't pass the ball back out to someone else when he has a shot, he goes up and finishes the shots created by other players, and sometimes himself. WIth Kwame, he doesn't look to shoot, he passes it off to someone else, Lamar and Luke are almost arbon copies of each other, they look for other people, even when they have wide open shots at times. The people on our team who do look to shoot are of course Kobe, D-Fish, Farmar, Sasha and now it looks like Turiaf is stroking his open shots. That's not enough people wanting to knock down a shot in my opinion. We can't have a starting five of two people wanting to shoot the good shot and the other three wanting to give up the ball, it's going to kill our offense and our transition D.

Lamar and Luke pass the ball because they're scared to shoot. Kwame's layups don't hit the rim 50% of the time because he just throws it up so high and hard against the backboard. These 3 azz clowns are a big reason why our team is still the same team as it was 4 years ago. They haven't improved at all during these 4 years. Kobe and Andrew obviously work extremely hard to improve their game and it shows. Jordan worked really hard during the off season and he improved dramatically.

Luke sucks because he's too busy dating Lindsay Lohan right now. I doubt the guy practices because he's so hungry for the vag, the meat curtains, whatever you wanna call it. Luke's main focus in life is girls, not a championship.

There are some players who aren't afraid to shoot...Fisher, Kobe, Sasha, Radman, & Farmar...Fisher & Farmar both shoot over 40% from 3's...Radman & Sasha are both at 39%...the Lakers have some good shooters...it's just that the two players that should be the 2nd & 3rd best players on the Lakers team are not shooting enough...if Walton doesn't shoot but sets up alot of players, that's OK...but Odom needs to shoot...he started off good, but finished with a poor game...didn't he have like 8 points in the 1st quarter...and then after that was pretty much a no show...come on, even Kwame is helping out...he's getting a few points & rebounding...it looks like Kwame is starting to get back in shape, not 100%, but he's getting there...but you know what...I can't wait for Bynum to return...some analysist have said that he would be in the discussions about being an all-star...Magic Johnson said he should be, Kenny "The Jet" Smith had him on his reserves list, & Jeff Van Gundy said he should be in the discussions...too bad he got injured...Kobe would have loved for Bynum to join him on the all-star team, but Phil Jackson would probably hate his Lakers winning too many games because he would probably have to be the coach for the all-star team...don't worry Phil, you'll be the coach next year...

Lamar does need to shoot, but closer to the basket. But, not too close...we know how Lamar's layup ability is.

Also, don't forget about Turiaf...he isn't afraid of anything. When healthy...I think he should see more minutes at PF than Odom.

We just have both players(Lamar and Luke)playing to pass the ball. When Lamar tries too be the second option you can tell he is pressing alot.I like when Sasha come in becase he look to shoot.sometimes that get him in trouble but at least he want to make a difference in the game.I feel the same way about farmer.I agree with the post that said Ronny should start. His game is really coming alone.Him and Kobe playes really well together.

Exactly, Ronny and Kobe play great together. Ronny cuts to the basket for a Kobe dish. He just doesn't stand around watching Kobe...like a couple of other forwards on the squad.

I have not been a huge Luke Walton fan but his IQ is the only thing that keeps him on this team.....well that and Bill Walton.
