| Finally, they signed somebody. Hopefully, DJ helps us out and he can get a real contract after this 10 day contract. Thanks for the info. I know he is a pretty good defender, shot blocker, and can dunk the ball. Maybe he can work with Kareem as well, and he can improve his offensive game. |

| So far everything I predicted is going according to plan. Lakers sign Mbenga to a 10 day while awaiting word from Webber. |

guys, please help me understand why on earth we are about to sign this guy Mbenga??
What has he done in this league that any 7 footer cant do?? ok he got 1.7 points and 2 rebounds per game
he is a 7 footer and he is cheap but i think its pathetic how a guy who has not done a single thing in this league is being looked at so hard by the LAKERS
we atleast should bring up a guy from the dleague or something, that 7 footer Larry Turner we had in the preseason i think could even do more than Mbenga.

| Relax it's only a 10 day contract. We're looking at the defensive end of the things IMO. Mbenga is a shotblocker but not much else. I suspect we're still having disucssions with Webber but we need some kind of insurance in case we don't get him |

| Okay, Mbenga is a 7 foot center. He is 27 years old. He is known for defense, shot-blocking, and can grab rebounds. It is only a 10 day contract so if he doesn't perform well, we just let him go and sign another player for a 10 day contract or we could bring in Webber. |

i still dont get it, it cant possibly be that hard to find a 7 footer who blocks shots... it just really cant be
and how is he 'known' for defense, this guys career high in minutes is 22, i mean come on u cant be known for something around the league amd only have played 22 minutes in a single game |

I can't name any other FA who is a decent shot blocker right now. Perhaps Kandiman? LOL. although I'd still like to pick up Webber after Mbenga's 10 day contract(s) is over |

| Mbenga is just emergency relief in the middle until either Radman or Mihm can play again. I think we are dragging our feet on signing him because we have only 1 open roster spot and we are keeping it open for Webber. I am assuming even a 10 day contract counts as a roster spot??? Does anyone know how that works? Can you add on people to cover injuries? |

| Ugh it's about time! And we do need a good defender to block those shots in the paint form AI and melo. Now we have to wait and see if we're actually gonna sign him to a full contract or if Webber decides to show up here. |
