The Sixers didn't have to play against Lakers power forward Lamar Odom, who was serving a one-game suspension for a flagrant foul. But his replacement, Ronny Turiaf, had 15 points, four rebounds, and five blocked shots.
Turiaf is a restricted free agent after this season, and one suggestion would be for the Sixers to continue monitoring his progress.

| They Better Not Let Him GO!! He might not put up numbers, but he's an effective player off the bench. His play with his Heart, Puts the effort out there. It doesn't matter if we're winning by 20 or losing by 20, when he's on the court, he plays like a professional, with all his heart and effort.......I think that's why his teammates respect him... |

| ^^^ Glad to see you were the first one to come to his defense Lionheart. You cannot doubt R.T's heart. He can go 0 for 9 but his effort makes up for that. I'd hate to see him go also. His energy is unmatched. |

| Turiaf is a great player to have on your team. I felt this summer he was one of the untouchables along with Kobe, Bynum, and Farmar. |

| We can not let Ronny go. Also, I don't think he wants to go. He gives 120% every game. I really appreciate his effort and he deserves to be a Laker. We should resign him for 3-4 million per year. |

I don’t think the question is do the lakers want to resign him, but at what cost ?
I don’t think the lakers are willing to drop 4-5 mil on him like they did with luke and rad. If they keep signing contracts like that they wouldn’t have enough to resign farmar and bynum next season.
At max, lakers might offer him a 2 year six mil contract, making it 3 mil a season.
Unlike the lakers the sixers can jump on him with a 4 mil a year deal if they really feel the need to. I know you guys think Roni is not all about the money, but no one can say for sure till it happens. |

Haha, I always look for Ronny Turiaf Threads in here. Like I said on one of the threads, with another year under his belt, next year would be his break out year (I was hoping for this year, but his ankle injury set him back a little). He will be an effective rebounder sort of like a poor man's D. Rodman but with some offensive firepower. What Ronny needs to work on is, A. His mid range shot (he has to trust this more, I notice that he's hesitating lately) B. Balance (Watch him run back to defense and you know what I'm talking about.) C. Blocking in Angles instead of head on. <-- But then again I like it when he brings in the PAIN!! Two handed block shot anyone????? |

I love Ronny - I hope he is a Laker for life. You can never have enough guys like Ronny on your team. With his enthusiasm he also brings skills. He is a very good shot blocker and rebounder and has good hands around the rim. This is a keeper.
However, if he is traded to Philly - the fans there would really love his heart and soul. He would surely become the fans favorite player overnight. They really appreciate that kind of effort in Philly. |

Turiaf would be a good fit on the Sixers but I'm sure the Lakers won't let him go.
1. He seems to have embraced LA and it's fans.
2. He's a restricted free agent which means LA can match any offer.
3. The Lakers love what he brings so they will definatly try to keep him.
Give Ronny the same amout that Luke got - 6 year 30 million. |

It's obvious your the one who doesn't know how the Lakers payroll looks...
Kwame's 9 mill expires this year, Odom's 14.5 mill expires next year, along with Mihm's 2.5 mill, right when Bynum's extention kicks in. Fisher's expires the following year. We can definatly sign Ronny to a reasonable contract.
The guys that we will have to pay will be Ronny, maybe Ariza if he opts out, and if we want, Kwame and Sasha. Bynum gets an extention, and that's all. If we let Kwame walk, then we can use our Mid level and sign maybe a guys like Ratlif to backup Bynum at about 2-3 mill for 1-2 years. |

we seen to have different definitions of reasonable my friend.
Bynum needs to be signed for more the 10mil a year, famar will be demanding a 6mil and more contracts like Ariza and critten’s need to be considered in less then six years before luks, rads and as you say roni’s contract will expire.
You are talking about 4 players dropping out after their contract expires, like odom , fish, ariza, without taking into consideration that LAKERS might want to resign them.
you are saying that in a couple of years after the 4 players drop out we will not have a need to replace them, we need to have more then a 10 man roster.
Roni is great, but Ronny for a 30 mil 6 year contract is Ridiculous! |

Zee, I know that other players will need to be resigned, but Lamar's last figure of 14.5 million will be his last big money year. No one ouT their will offer him more then 10 million. Most teams will only have the mid level, so the Lakers can offer a contract of say 4 years and 34 million, and I'm sure Lamar will accept. Unless he wants to go make 5-6 mill per on another team...
Ariza, he might opt out and want the mid level, but I don't see why teams out their will offer Ariza a full mid level deal. Teams will be interested, but most likely to reasonable deal such as 5 year 20 million. If that's the case, I'm sure the Lakers would match, or at least pay a little more to keep him.
Kwame, no one will offer him more then the mid level. Their might be a desperate teams out their that might give him the full mid level, in that case we let him walk. He's too injury prone for us to invest in long term.
Farmar won't be paid for another 2 years, after this, Critt another 3 years after this, so that's when Fish expries and most likely retires. |

| Lakers will not let Turiaf go. He is Mr Energy and plays with a lot of heart. I don't think you will see Kwamme, Mihms, Sasha, Rad in a Laker uniform next season. |

hey!
i like Roni just think it is a bad move to sign him to a 6 year 30 mil contract. and i believe it ain't gona happen at least not for that much maybe less.
and the fact that the contracts of RAD and LUKE didn't fullfill the expectations, will not help Roni's case. |

| Unfortunately this is the ugly side of basketball and as much as I love ronny, business is business. If the FO feel that they can get value for Ronny, then he will be traded/not re signed. Most of us unfortunately think with our hearts and not our business hats (with the exception of a few). Personally, I know little about MLE's and the way the business side works but I know enough to know that it is exactly that - a business. I'm just a fan of the sport and the lakers and I hope Ronny does stay with the Lakers. |

| Ronny is an awesome player and I would love him to be a Laker for life but I personally don't feel that he is worth a 6 year, 30 million dollar contract. I think he deserves to make3.5 millions dollars per year. I think Ronny wants to be a Laker for life so he would probably take that deal. |
