The Nets should blow up the team. They are going no where, and the fans arn't happy with the team anymore. Here's a few trade ideas for them to make changes:

    1. Vince Carter to the Hornets. Peja, Bobby Jackson to the Heat, and Hornets 1st rounder to NJ. Davis, Williams, Cook to NJ.

Nets get nearly 15 million in expiring deals, a decent rookie SG in Cook, and a 1st rounder from the Hornets.

Hornets get a core of Paul, Carter, Peterson, West, and Chandler.

Heat get 2 solid veteran shooters to compliment Wade and Shaq.

(read below for the Laker involvment)

I think that trade woud be great for the Hornets and the Nets but not so much for the Heat. I have a strong feeling that the heat are going to rebuild as soon as Shaq's contract is up and Mourning retires so i don't think they are going to be interested in getting players such as Boby Jackson and Peja who are getting up there in age. Plus with the way the Heat are playing now i don't think any player wants to go there.

For NJ this trade automatically means rebuilding mode which means that they will be getting rid of Kidd also. They will have to lower their expectations for Kidd if they are serious about getting him out of NJ. If i was the GM of the Lakers I would offer Kwame and fillers but nothing else besides a draft pick or two. In this way we get Kidd without giving up our main players. If the Nets are serious about trading him then we could even get Kidd without giving up Farmar or Critt. But then again the question of whether or no we really need Kidd comes up again. We are already acked at PG with great players so why even think about bringing in Kidd? The question is left to ponder.

Now this trade would be great for New Orleans. With a core of Paul, Carter, Peterson, West and Chandler that team becomes a very scary lineup with a very good chance at making a serious run at the Championship. That team would easily win 50+ games and would probably get a top 4 seed now that I think about it. This trade would just strengthen the West even more so it make the chance of an Eatern Conference team winning the Championship very minnimal.

Hey Poppintags, welcome to Netstopbuzz! Glad to see you've finally made it to the site, it's great huh? Not quite as good as LTB though.

    lol.

Hey Gem, my underlying point will be made now....

After the Nets make that deal, they will be more then inclined to accept our proposal of Kwame, Luke, Critt, and 2 firsts for J Kidd. They would have gotten rid of the 2 biggest contracts and now receive nearly 25 million in expiring along with 3 future picks and youngsters J Critt and Dequan Cook for their 2 vets.

    So there you go.

There's one flaw in your plan young Jedi. Once we trade Kwame, our interior defsne is done for. Bynum is not at that physical level yet, even though he's improving. Mihm is as soft as a lead painted Elmo doll and Turiaf needs to get stronger to match his energy level. Plus we're giving up a young guard in Crittenton when he should be tutored by a J. Kidd. The problem is we're opening up a hole on our team to feel a hole that's not there in the pg position. I know it's hard to pass up a hall of famer, but to me I think that's a bad trade.

Yes, Kwame does help, when he plays, but is he helping when he sits in street clothes nearly half the season? His impact in the playoffs is minimal as well. I think he had 1 good game out of 5 last playoffs. Plus there is no gaurantee that Kwame will remain healthy to help us in this years playoffs. Besides, Kwame takes up Bynum's minutes, I rather have Bynum starting instead of comming off the bench to replace the offensivly challanged Brown. As far as Kidd, the guy gets a ton of boards, I think he averages more then Brown which is pretty sad for Kwame.

True! However with Kwame starting, we have an interior defender who doesn't get in foul trouble like Mihm. Kwame allows Bynum to go against the other teams second string center which he outplays them. Bynum doesn't get into much foul trouble when that happens and the sceond unit looks for him in the post more. I'd rather see Bynum with the benchmob growing with Farmar rather than being out with the first unit mostly setting picks to free people.

If we have to be realistic, the best place for Vince Carter would have to be Orlando.

JJ Reddick, loads of expirings and a bucket-full of picks.
