Its all so simple, trade Radmanovic while he is hot and trade Kwame before he gets injured again. In return take back star power to contend.

Its still a far-fetched idea but its one that could just work out well for both teams.

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &cash=

Its old news but the scenario is new. The Lakers are now unwilling to trade Bynum for anyone not named Dwight Howard and the Jazz may find it useful to trade AK47 after all his negative image has subsided. They may feel they are selling "high" on Kirilenko while LA also sells high on Radmanovic.

Jazz takes Kwame to be their interior defender for Duncan, Dirk and Amare. Radman replaces AK's slot at the 3 for the pick-and-roll kickout three.

    Utah Lineup:
    Williams / Crittenton
    Brewer / Giricek
    Radmanovic / Harpring
    Boozer / Millsap
    Okur / Kwame

Lakers add a star without losing one. While his contract may prove taxing, he is the big bang we need to do in order to be sound defensively and be a more efficient TRI team.

    Lakers lineup:
    Fisher / Farmar
    Kobe / Sasha / Karl
    Odom / Walton / Ariza
    Kirilenko / Turiaf
    Bynum / Mihm / Collins

We now have extremely versatile forwards at 6'9 and 6'10, both of whom can play either 3 or 4. With Fish, Kobe and Drew, who says we cannot contend without salvaging the future?

The defensive implications of this trade is the one that intrigues me most. Here is how we match with the West's powerhouses:

    LA - San Antonio
    Parker - Fish / Farmar
    Ginobili - Kobe
    Bowen - Odom
    Duncan - Kirilenko
    Oberto - Bynum

    LA - Phoenix
    Nash - Fish / Farmar
    Bell - Kobe
    Hill - Kirilenko
    Marion - Odom
    Amare - Bynum

    LA - Dallas
    Harris - Fish / Farmar
    Terry - Kobe
    Howard - Odom
    Dirk - Kirilenko
    Diop - Bynum

    LA - Utah
    Williams - Fish / Farmar
    Brewer - Kobe
    Radman - Odom
    Boozer - Kirilenko
    Okur - Bynum

    LA - Houston
    Alston - Fish / Farmar
    Tmac - Kobe
    Battier - Kirilenko
    Hayes - Odom
    Yao - Bynum

It's a great idea, and I am totally down for it. Kirilenko is playing like himself again. He's finally quit whining about not getting touches, and has focused on playing amazing defense again.

The Jazz can definitely use Vlad. They have longed complain, and still are, about not having a legit 3 point shooter. They can absolutely use someone who can spread the floor. This way Okur can focus on playing down low and give Boozer some help in grabbing boards.

Unfortunately for us the Jazz are unwilling to trade AK. Just as AK has pulled a 180, so has Larry Miller and his attitude towards getting rid of him. Deron Williams, who took a number of chances to rip on AK on sports radio here in Utah over the summer, is now singing his praises.

The Jazz are finally getting their money's worth from AK, and that is an investment they will be holding onto.

No chance on getting Kirilenko now unless we are willing to take our team apart.

I think it's a great deal for both teams. Why wouldn't Utah want this deal? Kirilenko has finaly raised his trade value to the point where teams with give up decent assets, it's time to cash in. I still don't think he fits with Utah because they are already set with their 1-2 punch and he's kind of like the third wheel. Why pay a guys 13 mill per season if your not going to get max value in return? I think Vlad at 5-6 mill per fits the team perfectly. He's not going to be asked to do much, just play within the offense, and hit the outside shots. Kwame will most likely be a 1 year rental but he can definatly help them gaurd the big men somthing that Okur doesn't do. Kwame might even have a future in Utah with maybe a mid level contract. they would also get the rookie Critt who can be the full time backup to DW. This trade helps them by filling in the gaps of their team, helps their future cap space, and would make them a better team. I actually think this is more of a sure thing for Utah then for LA. What if AK-47 doesn't fit here, and resorts to his crappy play of last year? We are going to need him to give us real all-star type numbers, and if he doesn't live up to it, then he'd be a dissapointment with a huge contract. In the end, I'd still take the gamble and get AK-47. He's young enough and physically good enough to play at a high level.

I'm with you there poppintags.. This trade is perfect for both utah and us and what's great about it is that we get a star without messing up our core.
    fisher
    kobe
    odom
    kirilenko
    bynum..
like warreen said, we can match up very well with the contenders in the west!

yea, I don't think this trade helps Utah that much also. And, AK does fit into Utahs system. Remember, it was AK that wanted a bigger role in scoring, not that other way around. He fits in Utah perfectly. Utah has many guys that can score the ball. Remember what AK did against the Lakers? How does a verstile guy like that with stat stuffers not fit into any system? If I was Utah, I would pay a guy 13 mil to stuff that stats and have a guy that does all the dirty work while score enough on the side, then just a one demensional 3 point shooter that the Lakers are offering. If Utah acquires Kwame and Vlad...Vlad would get the starting SF..maybe but how would Kwame, Okur, and Boozer share the time? They don't need another starting center. You could bench Kwame, but that would be a 10 million dollar waste. If they accepted the trade, their defense suffers big time while their offence increases just a little or stays the same.

If you matched up Kirelenko to play Duncan when he is on the Lakers then Utah could also match up Kirelinko against Duncan in Utah, thus that means Utah doesn't have an interior defense problem.

This is what I don't get about the trade:
    1) We have two tweeners once we get AK, Lamar is a tweener and so is AK and neither one can guard power players.
    2) Why send Kwame to Utah for their interior defense, and then you see ours suffer?

    3) AK doesn't help our problem of a lack of an inside scorer, defensively he helps us, but not offensively.

I like AK... and have to admit i dont see a lot of him but my take on him is he is very much like Lamar and Gem stated. Great some games (usually against us darn it) and mediocre a lot of the time. Just very inconsistant. But again, i have had limited exposure to him.

Kirilenko is a lot like Lamar. He played outstanding defense against the Lakers, but then he was a no show against the Spurs. So I don't know about AK being a good trade for us. IF and that is a big IF he was to play like he did against the Lakers, he definetely would help any team. IF we trade Rad for AK? we are giving away the only guy that is a real three point threat.
