On paper it is. Your not considering the point of view from the other teams. What is PHX getting in return? NJ would obviously make the trade but the Lakers won't |

what about shipping lamar for expiring contracts?
we need his money to resign players and sign free agents?
imagine a lakers core aroung iguodala, kobe and drew? |

Forget Kidd coming to the Lakers. We don't need a point guard. We need a power forward that can help Kobe. Odom is a strange player. Sometimes he plays like he is one of the best power forwards in the nba, But then he make a complete turn around and just does not play or even trys to shoot. Never in my life have I ever seen a player so inconsistant and you really can't depend on him. I hate to say it, but I think the Lakers should look for a player that is consistant. But not a point guard UNLESS you want the whole team revamped. I don't think they want to break up the chemistry that has developed with the other players.
Something has to be done, I can see great disappointment in Kobe. Even he at times gives up and starts passing the ball with bad results turning the ball over and over. But then I also notice that when he sees some help in the horizon, he starts playing good, smart ball again. But it must be frustrating for Kobe to see Lamar playing the way he is. |

| Lamar really disappointed me lastnight every basketball player knows whether your home or away and your up by 2 you never leave your man open at the 3 point line. You would rather a 2 to tie the game than a three which gives up the lead. |

| To tell you the truth its not even about being a second scorer at all its about being aggressive on both ends consistently where your presence can be felt |

| someone said dump odom for expiring contracts I agree 100%. get something of value in that trade would be ideal. With that said we send odom and puke i mean Luke walton maybe a 2nd rounder if necessary and cash considerations to the wizards for Jamison a 16million dollar expiring contract. That gives the wizards the 3rd best trio in the east in agent 0 butler and odom all of which are decently young. |

| the wizards wont make that deal., and i agree with the gu that said you never leave a shooter at the three point line. i mean everyone is talking about lamars air ball. but if lamar dosent collapse on billups we go into over time at worst. |

| He has great talent all-around, nothing will change my mind about that, but he is way too unselfish and I do not believe he wants to be that second-option everyone thought he was going to be when he joined the team. Now with Gasol on the team, he can finally thrive on the 3rd option that he generally plays better as. I would have been fine with a fair trade for Odom before Gasol. Now I am more against trading him at this point than before. |

| I completely agree with some of the posters here. When I heard of the Gasol trade my reactions were as follows: no way, kwame brown is finally gone, and now lamar can finally shine as that 3rd/4th option. I think everyone agrees he can not fulfill the responsibilites of a 2nd option, but now that he is surrounded by more options he should be more comfortable in his new niche which also pleases the fans as well. |

| I am going to jump on the bandwagon and agree with everyone else. Lamar Odom should and will step it up now that Gasol is in town. The Lakers are looking so good (atlanta was a fluke) |

All I know is, when I was watching him at the end of the Detroit game and he shot an air ball instead of taking it to the rack with 4 or 5 secs left, my brother and I had a #$^# fit!
But I do think we should see how he does with Gasol the rest of the season. If he doesn'e do well, there is an old saying, S, or get off the pot! |

| I'm a little more comfortable with Odom getting 10-10-5 now that we have Gasol. Before as the second option, that was not enough production. Now I just have to get comfortable with his offensive charging fouls and his defensive. |
