| With all the complaining KB did during the offseason about not having enough quality talent around him and taking jabs at the lakers front office.....it may of really damaged the chances of getting some help...for one, KG said it at the press conference that all the KB talk about the situation really made him not interested in LA. Second, Grant Hill saying he back off the lakers because of the KB drama. Makes you wonder who else was scared off because of the situation? KB you are a great baller probably the best, but a terrible PR guy... |

yeah. him AND his publicist. c'mon now.
thing is, i thought his publicist redeemed himself when he got people to generally "forget" the rape trial, the shaq fiasco, and made kobe a credible player again. and now, alluva sudden, kobe's back to his antics.
kobe's publicist is as useless now as britney spears' dieting coach*

I think you are right, Kobe has been his own worst enemy in all of this, and the media a close second. An interesting read from Mark Heisler, LA Times; some notable and amusing quotes below from the article:
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-hei ... ;cset=true
Everyone take a deep breath
Bryant rumors are flying almost daily, but Lakers really shouldn't rush into anything.
“ESPN, now also known as the Entertainment Sports Pelinka Network, is now running breathless reports of the latest proposals, no matter how far-fetched and short-lived.
”Presumably briefed by Bryant's agent, Rob Pelinka, they became breaking stories as ESPN's experts hyperventilated like the radio actor succumbing to poison gas from the Martian spacecraft attacking New York ("Isn't there anyone on the air? Isn't there anyone on the air? Isn't there . . . anyone?")”
“If they're not going to move Bryant now, some Laker should stand up and say so. If they haven't noticed, everyone thinks there's a fire sale going on.”
”Magic Johnson is now the closest thing they have to a spokesman in his job as TNT commentator. Buss did as much damage as he could in his only appearance. GM Mitch Kupchak is sworn to silence so as not to antagonize Bryant.”
“Even as a free agent in 2009, Bryant would need a sign-and-trade to go to a good team without taking a $15 million-a-year pay cut. The Lakers could then balance the offers they get against the chance to drop $20 million under the cap, with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade due on the market in 201”
”In the meantime, Buss can do wonders for Bryant's morale by bringing back Jerry West as a consultant while continuing to sell all his tickets.” |

| Haha i have a funny but bad quote from Family Guy: "When my father wants something it's like sex with Kobe Bryant; you can kick and scream all you want, but it's gonna happen." Hahaha that's so bad. |
