i have a feeling we are going to start the season in a 0-2 hole. we need more players to step up other than kobe and fish.

    thanks for creating the post.

i would primarily like for bynum to step up. with all the hoopla surrounding him, he needs to step it up and show us why we held onto him.

i agree mambamonk. even if phil doesnt play him much, he needs to make the most out of his minutes. if he gets upset about the lack of playing time and doesnt show much interest, we should have shipped him out for artest 2 years ago when bynum was a rookie.

I agree CNick that we don't have what it takes to come close to Phoenix yet. It sounds like Odom may not be ready for this next game either and we really need him right now. We need 3 of these players: Turiaf, Bynum, Farmar, Luke, and Rad to at least put 10 to 15 pts. per game and play aggressive defense that creates turnovers in order to even have a chance at teams like Phoenix and Spurs.

    I predict:

    Suns 102
    Lakers 90

Bynum needs to get more playing time. We're starting the season off against some teams and Bynum needs to go up against their best big men: Yao, Amare..

i don't get this KOBE/AGENT024 guy. he is obviously a kobe fan and yet he wants him out of LA??? this guy has got issues.

anyway i was really supriseed with the way we played against houston. we almost beat them and we didnt even have LO. that is a really good sign to me. now i kno people are going to say that we almost won because kobe scored 45 points but i will reply to that by saying that when LO comes back into it i reckon he will average 20+ ppg so that will take some of the weight off kobe's back.

oh and i hope we start bynum instead of Kwame. Kwame played 27 minutes and got 4 POINTS!!!! ahhh!!!

i think for matchup purpose we have to have kwame on amare kwame will do better runnin the floor on the fast break but amare will get eatin up by bynum on the inside amare is overated in all his game, but he has NO 1-on-1 D,if the lakers play with a fire and fish will D up nash real good, and kobe aint gonna go 13-32 ans miss 9 Ft again come on!!!plus kobe looked like they could beat em in the practice report on lakers.com!!!lakers win 99-93(plus phx will be playin on a back to back wit seattle 2morow so hopefully that helps us)GO LAKERS!!!

I hate phoenix so bad I hope we own them... (easier said than done LOL) bynum is better offensively than kwame, but kwame plays better D thats y I think PJ plays him more. Walton needs to be more aggresive on offense, we need points from him, y didn't mihm or vlad play at all last game? Cook got pt and did nothing.

Lakers4Kobe- I am a loyal Kobe fan but I also want him to leave. The way I see it is Kobe doesn't deserve this. He does not deserve what the Lakers are surroundng him with. I like all the Lakers but they are not the group that will gain Kobe's trust. The evidence is there on live TV. You have a Navy SEAL being sent out to combat with a bunch of cooks. Yes, the cooks are important but not when you need to climb that hill. I just want Kobe to be part of an organization that will give him hope of winning another ring. I will always love the Lakers but once Kobe leaves, it's going to be a long frustrating time before they become contenders again. If they think AB will someday be the guy, the Lakers better keep in mind how good and competitve the West will be for many years to come.

Phil doesn't like Bynum at all, because he late before game started, phil came up to him said he needs to be on time, so he deosn't let him play many minutes. I would liek to see him as starter. We will handle it ...need famar and bynum step up!!

well bynum isn't starting for these first couple games because we're going up against a bunch of top-rated centers, and bynum doesn't play defense as good as kwame.

ugh that sounded horrible. "as good as kwame". ugh ugh ugh. in an upcoming season where kwame is one of our most important players, i foresee a lot of painful moments to come.

    we're going to lose 113-105.

no way i think that if the lakers had lamar odom they would have an eighty percent chance of winning because now steve nash cant just run all over the court, he has to guard fisher so maybe things will be better. but f course they dont have odom!

kobe needs to pass the ball every once in a while. so his team can get involved. this is team basketball isn't it? they are so worried about doing something wrong to upset him they cant shoot when they fianlly get a chance.

Well watching a little of the Suns tonight against the Sonics, they dont look great. But that of course means nothing, we all know they are good and will be there in the end. We need to get some better players on this team or we may beat the Suns 1 out of every 5 games. Only because Kobe scores 60. Good luck to us tomorrow, we will need it. Hopefully we can play with them and make it a game.
