We are in bad shape when this happens. When asked about Kobe on TNT Magic completely blamed him for everything. He even brought up the whole Shaq issue. The only thing that will keep Kobe around is if the Lakers don't get a good enough offer. I don't think there is a division in the front office. It
has been decided...they want him out. Then again it was evident tonight that if it wasn't for Kobe we would have lost by 50pts. He just needs some freaking help!!! |

| I completely agree. Kobe needs help and I think JO could be that guy. Reporter, David Aldridge, was taking about JO trade rumors popping up again. Magic said they still are trying to get JO, but they can't agree on the players. |

| Based on that game (HOU VS LAL), Kobe rarely passed the ball. If he wants to win, then he shouldn't be whining. Go play ball. If he's the best player, then he'll do whatever it takes in whatever circumstances. The Lakers will win if he starts being a leader and quit whining and show his crew (who have POTENTIAL) how to play in the League. C'mon, Kobe. Prove me wrong. |

all you players haters better take a step back. Kobe is getting dissed left and right - his true fans are being shown now... So I have to say this (with all due respect)
Kobe looked alone out there, I feel for him - Who else on that team besides Dfish 'wants it' ? I say Make Kobe the GM. Its absurd how the rest of the team just SUCKS!
Kobe didnt pass as much - yeah well I would either if I was playing with those D-leaguers!
KOBE, when you read this forum - and I know you check it out once in a while, but your 'people' do more - I got your back wherever you go! And I know ALL lakers fans support you! despite the boo's
hang in there!!!! |

Kobe is a great player. That is a fact. I feel bad for him, yes I do. I disagree that he is playing with D-League Players. These players have worked hard and are on the team for a reason. Kobe fails to bring out the talent in them. I loved Kobe to hell. But what he did in the opening game, how he's been facing all the problems, media and criticism. He has reacted poorly. He is not acting like how a true champion is. He should look at this like a challenge. Everyone hating on him, if he does the right thing and pulls everything together, against all odds. Then he'll be the most beloved player in basketball history. But no. HE's reacting to the whole thing poorly. I thought he was better than this. |

I agree with thesingularity. Kobe and Fisher were the whole offense. The rest of the team looked like a bunch of D leaguers. KOBE NEEDS HELP! Trade Bynum or who ever to get Jermaine Oneal.
But after I heard Magic last night, I believe Kobe will be gone by the end of the week.
It is really tragic for the Laker organization that they have the best player in the nba and they will not do anything to surround him with some discent players. It will take the Lakers ten years to get back to being competitive if they let Kobe go. |

| I disagree with nikodoza. If kobe wouldn't of scored the way he did last night, the Lakers would have gotten blown away by thirty point loss. It is not Kobes job to lead the team. He is a number two guard and their job is to score. The leader is the number one guard. He directs traffic and leads the team. If you don't know how to play ball, you should keep your mouth shut about Kobe not playing right. |

I totally agree Kobe is doing his job. It is really becoming evident the disparity with his play with the Lakers and the USA team in the summer. Kobe is forced to shoot as much as he does because he's got scrubs around him. He doesn't have role players around him:
Dennis Rodman: Rebound Specialist
Steve Kerr: Three point Specialist
Magic Johnson: Assist Specialist
Bruce Bowen: Defensive Specialist
You don't need superstars to win championships just a decent supporting cast.
It really dissapointed me what Magic said. He of all people should know u need a supporting cast. It was Magic the business man talking yesterday not Magic the player |

Yeah you know why he rarely passed the ball? because no one was open, if you ever played basketball you would have realized that, ... and wouldn't even bring that up.
except for kobe, fish and in some situations Walton, no one played basketball out there, almost no one lost is defender they where always, all the time just a few inches away, with there arms extending, .... would you pass to that guy? would you? ... |

| Kobe showed the true Laker fans, and the Laker organization...what they would be losing....WHICH IS GAMES!!...last nite, just proved, the Lakers as a whole arent that good...most of the players we have on the starting lineup..wouldnt even start in the top playoffs team in the league... And I'm sick of this talk of Kobe needs to make the other players better...that is a bunch of Chicago Bull$%&*. Its not up to Kobe, its up to the other players... You guys remember Magic, and how he made guys "supposedly" better...but the fact is thats his job...and plus..he had Kareem(greatest scorer in NBA history)...James Worthy( Hall of Famer)...Byron Scott(good shooter)...etc. Eventhough, Magic was Great...he also had Great Players....just like MJ with the Bulls...just like Duncan with the Spurs...just like Nash with the Suns. I have been a Laker fan since 1980...but if they do trade Kobe...I will support whatever team he goes to....and I will still chear the lakers..but I definitely wont pay $200 a ticket to watch them. |

so i am watching espn and they are talking about bynum for jo trade is still on the table and i hear this and wonder why have we not done this deal . kobe will play hard every night ! and to trade him is dumb . look at the bulls and who they have to offer is that gonna make us better . do you guys remember last season before all the injuries ? everyone looked great ! last night i was EXCITED !!!!!!!! seeing turiaf dunking ... farmar looks faster .. and how about FISHER !!!!
so my question is why do we want bynum so bad ??
he does look better , but is he really going to be more than just normal bynum . and odom is injury to injury and i love odom but i think after passing up on jo , and kidd i think the fo should finally look at this and say lets make a move not involving the mamba . |

| I agree worthy...I dont know what the love is with Bynum. Just like everyone criticized Kobe for his pre-season effort, and how everyone compliment AB, on how good he looks, and that he will be averaging double double every nite....so what happened last nite...Kobe did his job scored 45, and single handedly almost beat the Rockets himself. But, what about Bynum, wheres the double double?? exactly...I'm not saying he played all that poorly...but against quality centers, or quality teams...AB is just an avg. player. I prefer having Kwame over him, because at least Kwame, can play Defense. If we trade AB and get JO, we add another post player, who we can go to down the stretch....and a great defender. And in a few years, if AB becomes a star, then we go ahead and trade for him. |

I disagree, I don't think his teamates are D-Leaguers... Cause even D-Leaguers don't score on their own basket. |

Some things that I noticed about the game were that Kobe did shoot a lot, but it didn't seem within the offense. He did a lot of two man play with Kwame which I dind't think was good at all. On two fats break opportunities he could have dished it to Ronny for a dunk who was ahead of him, he also had a similiar play with Luke in front of him and he put his head down to get to the basket instead. I felt the Lakers were playing well when Luke was taking it to the rack because clearly Tracy couldn't guard Luke from what I could tell. Luke made some nice passes also, I would love to see them get the ball to Luke more on the block and he'll find his players. Our problem is we don't have much of a post game with our centers as of yet, especially the starters. That's why I feel we will need to post up Luke and Lamar a lot more to gain those advantages in the post.
Also the people screaming about AB not getting a double-double, well Houston doesn't give those up to too many top tier players in the NBA. The Rockets defense is geared to stopping anything in the paint, they all converge down to the paint. The Laker centers all played well last night in my opinion, not too many people are going to abuse Yao and Dikembe for high amounts of points anyway. |

ha! a little background on me: I played in highschool and college - got into the D-league but had a baby and had to go into my family's biz (long story) the point is that I know bball
and while I am not good enough to be even thinking about the NBA, if I was there - on the lakers - i would be VERY hesitant to pass - i would try to score most of the time - i feel for kobe - being on a team with a bunch of good guys, but not good at being aggressive in a game and going for it - where is the fire to win???? I can see it in Dfish (great to have him back) and Kobe - walton a little - turiaf has energy but he needs more skill and consistency.
So... We should all be mad and booing the rest of the team. we should trade whoever to get JO -
again, like i mentioned in another post - LETS TAKE A CHANCE ON KOBE RATHER THAN BYNUM (no disrespect t0 bynum) |
