I have been seeing a lot of multi-player trade scenarios involving Kobe being offered for a stack of the other teams players.
We all know the difficulty of getting equal value, and other teams, understandably, not wanting to trade their star, nor wanting to trade their core of players.
But...
I haven't really seen anyone state the 3-pointed problem of taking in any new personnel, which would be magnified by taking in multiple new players.
the TRIANGLE...
it has proven to take players years to get comfortable in, and right now our offense really isn't our problem, it is our defense. But add a bunch of new players that are still learning, and our offense and defense will be a problem. Or if these new players are defensively inclined then we will just be trading problems, and we wont be able to put up numbers, [which will not work out here in the western division]
So, unless Phil goes with Kobe and takes the Triangle with him, any multi-player deal will just not be effective for at least 2 to 3 years.
Plus the Laker "vets" that are now comfortable in the triangle would have to re-learn what ever new system that is decided upon. [i don't think the young guys would have any problem transitioning though]
this is just one more reason not to trade Kobe, but to trade a few of our
less productive [cough-kwame]
or
defensively insufficient players [cough-cook] |

another note about Kwame, we can keep him for defense, but we need to play "perimeter-offense" when he is on the floor [just don't try to pass him the ball]
Save the inside game for when Bynum is in the middle, he has shown some real ability to catch difficult passes and score. |

| Im tired of people wanting to throw kwame to any team possible. There one thing kwame can do and thats play defense and thats going to be more important to the lakers in the playoffs then trading him for someone like antoine walker, who is first old plus is just a shooter and we have plenty of those Cook, Romanavic. If we trade kwame whos goin to guard players like Garnett, J Oneal, tim dunkin and even Dallas Dirk trust me not Bynum a least for now.. |

antoine walker is a bum, why would we want him? Can't Play D or post. Garbage like Cook. Would not sign him for the league minimun, the guy is cancer to any team.
I like Kwane playing D, when his contract is up I wonder how much he will be worth. 9 mil a year now is crazy for Mr butter hands |

i fully agree about kwames defense, and if he, [or mihm] can transition to power forward we will be in good shape with our big men, like i said just please dont pass him any interior passes.
and i agree about cook, like i said, he is a defense liability, and i feel that walker would be the same. alot of teams are going small and fast, we cant afford any slow big men. |
