I'm kind of sick of people talking about how Kobe is doing horrible right now.
Why? Because it is the preseason. Kobe is NOT trying right now. He's experimenting. He does this every pre-season. Kobe can-NOT get distracted with something off the court, he doesn't have a conscience. People don't seem to understand that when your 29 years old you can't just go out and play like you mean it, in a game that doesn't matter. Winning in the preseason doesn't mean a thing, all the preseason is for is looking at rookies and seeing who is doing the best and who is making the team.
The reason Kobe isn't playing like he was on the FIBA team. On that team, he had Great talent around him and he didn't have to worry about the scoring part. So he gave himself to all defense. so nobody could score on him. he can't do that both on def. and off. and still play 30+ mins. per game.
All I'm saying, is don't judge Kobe until you see him play in the reg. season, cause watching something that doesn't count for anything right now. |

| kobe had 26 turnovers during the first 5 games, the world is gonna end!!!! Big Whoop, we should be worried when he does that in the regular season not preseason or practice |

| Word. Plus, if he's not trying, it means he doesn't put up good numbers, but if your not trying and you get 26 turnovers in the preseason, that's not saying he didn't try. It's saying he's sloppy. |

You could say the same about Sasha. So far his pre-season has been very respectable. however, last year he also had a monster pre-season but his regular season games weren't so good. another example is Smush Parker. He was a SL all-star and was very effective in pre-season. Reg. season showing was not so good for him and he winds up on the Miami heat |

when kwame drop balls, we critize and comment
when PJ sit and dont coach, we critize and comment.
when LO play soft, we critize and comment.
when smush score 20 and dont play D, we STILL critize and comment.
when shaq was winning rings, but come to camp fat, we STILL critize and comment.
when one is not preforming, we we critize and comment.

Saying who sucks? Kobe's pre-season has been below his average standards but that doesn't mean he'll play like that during the reg. season. This applies for all the Laker players. Bynum could break out (hoping for this) during the season or hit that wall again mid-way through. No one can predict the future, because if they could some people would be very rich right now. |

Kwame has always had trouble catching the ball, nowadays people just make fun of that but he is an above average low post defender.
How does PJ sit and not coach?
When LO's mind is on the game he is definitely not soft. He needs to flip that warrior mentaility switch though.
You gotta admit Smush did gamble defense a lot. He was cool in his 1st season but his heart wasn't in the game last year.
interestingly enough Shaq passes Riley's body fat test but Smush doesn't?

i guess you didnt get the point of the post...
we critize and comment on players, coaches and the FO; when they are not preforming up to par.
kobe get alot of exceptions from this, why? becasue we have a lot of kobe fan here.
if and only if we can look at this situation more ojectively, then we could ahve a conversation.
when he is the one who TO 26 times, when he is the one causing the whole mess, and we are still on his side? i donno, it just make me think you all are just kobe-fan but not a laker fan. |

IMHO Kobe is trying to be a fancy facilatator like Nash or Kidd right now in pre-season. Obviously that's not going to work 100% of the time since he's not a playmaker of their calibers. I think that once the season starts you'll be seeing passes that's he more comfortable with like drive and dish, behind the backs, no looks, and the occasional alley-oop. Guys like Nash and Kidd would be able to do a combo of this stuff but Kobe isn't Nash or Kidd like I said earlier. |

and you see, til now we (well you guys really) are still helping him to make excuses.
that to me, its just non-sense now. really.
he had a bad game last time, and then he come back lpay utah started 0 for 7?
you think a kobe last year will do this? let his team down?
o i forgot, its pre season. but you know, pre-season is still a game...
kobe use to kill everyone even IN PRACTICE!!! so preseason games are not even an excuse. |
