I say we offer Bynum, Crittenton and Farmar along with Kwame, Rodmonovic, and Sasha for Jermaine O'neal and Jamal Tinsley.

Any Laker fan that wouldn't want this deal has to be crazy. Our starting lineup would be:

    Fisher, Bryant, Walton, Odom, O'neal

with Tisnley, Evans, Turiaf and Mihm as the main backups and also secondary backups in Carl, Elthon, Turner, and Cook.

Our starting 5 and our main 4 bench is good enough to win a championship.

I think that would be good for both teams, but why would they want 3 point guards? Did we not offer something like this for JO a while back and it got turned down?

I like the enthusiasm that you put into this site, poppin, but that's a pretty bad offer for the Pacers. You're right - every Laker fan would love that trade. Unfortunately, it's Bird and Walsh you have to worry about.

It seems like both the Lakers and Pacers are playing the "waiting game" to see who budges first. Unfortunately for us, we have to budge first. All they're asking for is LO and Bynum - JUST DO IT! All Kobe asked for was an improvement and a change - he is getting that with JO. I don't think he expects us to win it this year.

By acquiring JO you appease Kobe. After this season there is going to be a slew of great free agents available.

I use to think that trading Odom and Bynum for JO was worth it, not anymore though, and here's why. JO is on a 3 year decline, everyone can go and check the numbers themselevs. On top of that, he's injury prone AND overpaid, so why give up our 2nd best player and a future potential star big man for an all-star on the decline? The second tier teams like Utah, Houston and Denver would STILL be as good if not better then LA and that's not even including Phoenix, San An, and Dallas so why even make this change? To make Kobe happy? I don't think Kobe gives a damn who his teamates are if it means it's another early exit.

Here's the reasoning behind my deal, we give them 2 young PG's and we take disgruntled Tinsley off their hands along with JO. This trade would give them 5 young and exciting players to move forward with. Give that team 2-3 years to grow together and they can be a dominante Eastern team for a long time...

    Pacers starting lineup would be:

    Farmar, Dunleavy, Granger, Murphy, Bynum

Crittenton, Daniels, Rodmonovic, Diogu, Foster, Kwame.

I rather have that team going into next season then the current team they have. I just don't see where Odom fits on that lineup, I guess they want him so they can dump more bad contract players on us like Murphy or Dunleavy but we arn't stupid, that's not happening. Those stiff losers arn't going to contend for a title in LA, they are much better off on a rebuilding team like Indi to try and prove themselves to show that they are worth the money they are earning. The pressures of LA would totally ruin them mentaly.

At the end of the day, if Indiana insists on Odom along with Bynum, I say give them the MIDDLE FINGER and lets forget about this deal all together and just go into the season with our current team.

Too bad you guys do not do your homework. You somehow think that our starting lineup would include JO if we do one of these crazy trades. JO has missed 78 games in the last 3 seasons and over 250 games during his young career. Let's see, at 20 Mil per season, at that pace, he becomes the most expensive player in the NBA by far. Come playoff time, he will be in a cast. Oh, so some of want to take the gamble, then you write the check.

you are very right. plus, he has an embarassing FG% for a Center. but if we can get this deal to go down without losing Odom, i would take the gamble and do it.

In two years, Odom will still be an asterisk on any team he plays for. Bynum will be an All Star dominating almost every game he plays in and a consisitant double double player at about 20 and 10. I will say it again, most of our TopBuzz are speaking from their hearts but out of frustration and desperation. You would only give expendable pieces for JO. Kwame's expiring contract, one of our PG's, maybe draft picks, and throw in. But you can not give up your future or your core for a broken player.

While I am not a trade LO and AB for JO now guys, the stats quoted by jamfan are somewhat misleading. His young career is 11 years old. At one point he was the youngest player ever in the NBA, until we drafted AB. The first 4 years he did not play every game, because he was so young. I do not know how many of his DNP were due to injury and how many were coaches decision during that time. Of the 250 games he has missed 128 were during those early years. If you take the time frame since he became a starter in Indy he has averaged 67 games per year, if you add back he 25 games he did not play because of the suspension then he averages 71 game per year. Which by th way is the same as Kobe's average. His 46 % field goal shooting is bad, but his 70 % from the line will help down the stretch in some games. Over the time he has been Indy he has averaged 19.1, 9.9, and most improtantly 2.45 blocks. I don't care if it is Oneal we get as long as it's someone who will play high quality defense and take some of the scoring load off Kobe without costing the one arm and two legs to get.

Good points, but AB is much further along after his first two seasons than JO was. This accomplished at relatively the same age as JO. That alone might give you the impression that AB could possibly become a better player that JO. I think it took JO 5 years to get where AB is going to be this season. Hmmmmm

I agree with you, it takes time of a teenager to develop, AB would be playing college ball right now. I have so many mixed feelings about AB, trade him for help now, or keep him and hope things come together for him soon. There is no right answer, I just hope the fo makes a good choice for a change.

I would take the risk for JO, if we need another project just ask for Diogu or Harrison in return

I agree with the sentiment but cringe at the thought of Ab and LO for JO. I woulld be more in favor of a three or four for two or three as a insurance policy. Like: AB, LO, & Sasha for JO and Harrison.

Kobe didn't become a man until his 3rd season. This is AB's 3rd, and the reports are his body is starting to look like Dwight Howard's incredible hulk. If that is true then this is his future now. Have you ever seen anybody block an AB jump hook. Never happened? If he is so strong and he can get and maintain postion where he wants, with those freakish long arms, he is going to get any shot he wants, and it will be unblockable, just like Kareem's skyhook. I have been telling everybody to get ready. All he had to do was get stronger. Did you notice they did not let AB play this year. They have been hiding him in the weight room. In about one week training camp will start. And the new body will be displayed, and everybody will ooh and ahh. Dwight Howard who? Who is going to stop this guy? Nobody. He will become the second option, just like the old Kobe/Shaq days. This season is actually going to be a beautiful thing to watch. And drafting AB will be the one thing that Jim Buss did right. And trust me, I am not a fan of JB.

We could see Snaq in the early years or Sam Bowie. If we trade him it will be Snaq if we dn't it will be Sam.

I hate to agree with the village idiots, Kuppy and Bussbaby, but statistically this is a horrid trade. It is a vitual certainty that at least one of those three will be a major NBA star, possibly even two. In fact, those three represent the best draft picks we have come up with in years. (One has to be objective in praise or your criticisms are invalid.) Factor in a reasonable chance JO will run true to form and have an injury prone Laker career. Bad trade.

I still would gamble and trade LO and Bynum for JO. But I would not trade our entire future for him.

bynum's more of the future than farmar or critt. although again, im a huge farmar fan so i don't want him gone. shoot guys, u all know we're gonna end up playing part of the season with this lineup and then as the trade deadline looms over the horizon, we'll end up scrambling. i've accepted it; i'm just looking forward to watching it all unfold.

If we go into this season with this roster then I will enjoy watching Kobe tear up the other team with his new found energy.

If we make a trade to bring back quality talent then I will enjoy watching them too.

Just start the damn season already
