I think JO is a better player but the AK trade is better for us, if we somehow don't lose either Bynum or Odom, like the poster said. Also, if we don't lose either Lamar or Bynum, why not do a AK, Bynum, Cook, Sasha for JO and Diogu trade. Than we would have our three headed monster: Kobe, Lamar, JO.

It's been a long time since I've posted but after seeing the news about Kirilenko I had to say something. We need to try to find away to get him. He is an amazing talent and would absolutely flourish under Jackson. Just read about his performance in the European Championship and how much he loved playing for a coach other than Sloan.

I didn't bother with a trade machine or with anyone else but my take on this is simple. I'd give up the same thing for AK as I would for JO and be happier in the end. As long as it doesn't include Odom AND Bynum I'd pull the trigger on just about any deal.

Many of you will probably disagree but this is a risk we should take. Not too long ago AK was untouchable and I am sure if and when he is traded he will reestablish himself as such. Right now we can get him somewhat cheap and we should try our best to do so. Any other time we'd have to probably offer BOTH Odom and Bynum to make a competitive offer.

Now I'm not getting my hopes up and neither should anyone else, but I felt it was necessary to say that we need to go after this and and offer more than Cook and VRad. It's the right move. Period. The end.

if we can get AK without giving up LO then we do it in a heartbeat. if we have to give up LO then i don't know. that leaves us with Walton and Vlade at SF and AK at PF so it would be wiser to keep LO.

Utah in my opion is going to trade Ak but i think this offer of brown and farmer ande evans could be a good deal for both teams. They get brown expiring contract that money help sign dwillams t a nice extension and farmer with willams is a great pg postion and evans can fill the sf spot. The lakers get a great dfender in ak. why wouldnt the lakers take it or the jazz?

Ok, I believe that trade might be able to work, but please don't make post about trades. Post it on the Official Trade Ideas Section.

The Jazz are looking for a lot more than that for Kirilenko. They wanted Marion for him. The three you are proposing do not equal Marion. There's no way Utah takes that deal.

    Bringing AK Back

    September 20, 2007 12:00 PM

    Posted by Kelly Dwyer

Over the last few days I've heard some rumblings from hoop fans wondering why Andrei Kirilenko's translated-batch of unhappy vibes is receiving as much attention as it has.

Yeah, it's been a slow NBA summer (for transactions, at least), and at this point the junkies will glom onto any news they can get as we await media day and the prospect of Kevin Durant and Luke Ridnour having to awkwardly film a promo for a "Ten Game Ticket Power Pack." The abject lack of serviceable fodder and the idea of a trade demand - which reminds us of a simpler time, when unhappy players featuring max contracts could shoot the breeze with alarming alacrity - does play a role in the AK-mania.

But there's something more to it. There has to be. There is, from this end, at least.

This guy can play. Anyone who's watched Kirilenko over the years knows that this is a special basketball player, you might not want to build a team around him in theory, but it wouldn't be a bad option if you tried. From his jaw-dropping European championships lines, to the memories of five-by-fives gone by, this is a man who (in just a few years) has already made us nostalgic for the "old" Andrei Kirilenko. Andrei Kirilenko, of course, is 26-years old. Things spin quickly, 'round these parts.

I know Henry linked to this page yesterday, but it's worth another look. The math is sound. For those of us who got the bug watching Kirilenko during the 2000 Olympics, and grew smitten watching him dash across the court for the Jazz from 2001 until 2006, last year was a real pain. Yeah, the Jazz were winning, but their pick-and-roll machinations were too orthodox, and Kirilenko's attempts at playing small forward were frustrating to behold.

(And, believe me; I have reason to want to see him slide. Live-blogging the 1999 Draft - yeah, I did that back then - I wondered aloud if Kirilenko could be "the next Martin Muursepp." There's still time to make me look good, even if AK looks bad)

It's this spark, this batch of "remember when," that spurred the comments page on yesterday's AK post to run for two pages. I didn't read more than the first few, I knew I had a Kirilenko post in me today and didn't want to go in with preconceived notions that I was ripping off someone else's trade proposals, but you can see why this goes beyond the usual September doldrums.

We want AK back. We want him playing power forward, and we want him on a running team. We don't want him having to chuck up a 3-pointer at the end of a possession just because the shot clock has run down and somebody took the middle away from Carlos Boozer.

So, if you'll indulge me, and if Kevin O'Connor has a heart ...

AK to Golden State, for Al Harrington and Sarunas Jasikevicius

This isn't a fair trade for the Jazz, but I can totally see this as the sort of deal they'd make. Harrington's just that sort of overrated, orthodox plugger that the Jazz could throw right into that small forward slot in spite of anecdotal evidence (that probably isn't to be believed) that he's better suited for power forward.

He's not really suited for either position, he's not quite suited for more than 30 minutes a game; but Harrington has made a career out of deceiving people into believing he's a lot better than he is. Harrington can't rebound, but he can score without needing the ball when he wants to, and the Jazz already dominate the glass with or without Kirilenko. Jasikevicius can shoot, play either backcourt position, and essentially act as a better version of Derek Fisher.

Why wouldn't the deal go down? Golden State has made a point of limiting payroll bumps; and after this summer, it has become obvious that the Basketball Gods are angry with us, and they won't let us see Kirilenko dashing up and down the court with everybody's favorite Bay Area nutters.

AK to the Los Angeles Lakers, for Lamar Odom

Just about every max-player trade involves smaller parts being thrown in on both sides, and I see no reason why either team should add to this deal. No need for Sasha Vujacic to head to the Jazz, or for Utah to needlessly throw in a stud like Paul Millsap or Ronnie Brewer. In the Triangle, the holes in Luke Walton's head can be filled with the bumps in Kirilenko's; both can work at the apex, finding cutters and seeing the floor, and we know Tex Winter thinks the world of AK.

Problem is, Mitch Kupchak has never shown much interest in acquiring players fit for the offense that the Lakers have run since 1999. Odom can ably play small forward for the Jazz, and he shouldn't have any problem with the usual silly Salt Lake City-stereotypes once he's winning 60 games and on the road for half the year.

AK and Jarron Collins to Phoenix, for Shawn Marion

This one has been bandied about since last winter, but it bears mentioning that the Suns should much prefer paying Kirilenko's price for four years over paying (I didn't say "overpaying") Marion for two years and then having to extend his deal.

That said, as John Hollinger pointed out in Chad Ford's podcast yesterday, I'd be pretty nervous breaking up what could be a championship team for a player that would merely seem to fit in the system. Remember, Marion consistently nails that spot-up 3-pointer - in transition or in the half-court. As much fun it would be to see AK start (and sometimes finish) the break for Nash and the Suns, we have to remember that the always-underrated Marion already fills that role quite nicely.

AK to Sacramento, Mike Bibby and Francisco Garcia to the Los Angeles Clippers, Corey Maggette and Tim Thomas to Utah

The genesis of this deal was cribbed from Sactown Royalty poster "HrdRockTroy," and I took the liberty of adding wing depth to the Clippers and outside shooting to the Jazz in the form of Tim Thomas. Sure it leaves the Kings without a point guard, but they can always trade for Jason Williams' expiring contract in an attempt to at least lose 55 games in a more entertaining fashion.

AK and Paul Millsap to Chicago for Ben Wallace

This is assuming, of course, that Wallace shows up at training camp with headbands covering every square inch of his body. Chicago might have the league's most crowded - and, potentially, most-talented - frontcourt, so it only makes sense to add two more forwards who can do everything but shoot.

AK and Jarron Collins to Washington for Antawn Jamison

Feel like running, Washington? Here's the start of your fast-break. Feel like playing a little defense, Washington? Not really? Ok, take it easy, continue apace, but Andrei's going to go ahead and give it a try. Feel like having a power forward that hits the movers from the top of the key for easy baskets in Eddie Jordan's offense? Don't want that power forward to be Darius Songaila? Here's your chance.

UPDATE: Henry's proposal, probably the best of any bunch, can be found at the bottom of this post.

    UPDATE: From reader Jonathan:

Scuttlebutt on a few Jazz message boards from Russian posters is that AK wants to stay in Russia. There is talk of him "Fishering" (a la Derek Fisher) his contract - that is tearing the thing up and heading back to CSKA where he is happy. This was translated from another blog post of AK by Serge on Jazzhoops.com:

"With Utah GM Kevin O'Connor I talked even before eurochamp, so please don't match my desire to leave Utah with our victory in the tournament in Spain. After not succesfull for me season I understood that I can't grow (be progressive) in Utah. Jerry Sloan is supercoach, who led Jazz to the NBA finals several times. Yet our understanding regarding basketball differs. I want to be occupied with the work I love and get pleasure of the game. And for the same feeling that I experienced in the NT last week there is a reason to come back and play in Russia. For russian fans. It is totally differnt emotions and feelings."

Andrei Karenina to the Sonics for Sczerbiak and next year's #1. Also, anybody who views Millsap as a throw-in to land Ben Wallace must be a Bulls fan.Report Violation | Ignore UserJP31AZ (9/20/2007 at 10:26 AM)
If there's any way the Jazz can send AK to Indy for Dunleavy and Granger, they should do it.

If Mike is going to thrive in any system in the NBA, it's going to be Sloan's. Plus, he'd get to play his natural position and sit in the pocket as the 4th option on offense like he was born to do.

Everyone knows that AK would be the perfect PF in Nelson's system, running with Boom, Monta, S-Jack and Andris. The Dubs would probably have to through in a draft pick or young player along with Harrington and Sarunas in order for Utah to even think about helping a conference rival. Luckily, now that the trade request is public, the Jazz aren't going to get back full value in a trade. Assuming Utah would want to trade AK to the Eastern conference, the proposal with Washington makes the most sense for both teams. The Chicago thing is just silly -- who wants Ben Wallace with his declining production and huge salary -- because the Jazz already have a starting center and PF.Report Violation | Ignore Userjoka (9/20/2007 at 10:43 AM)
    Jazz fan perspective:

AK and Paul Millsap to Chicago for Ben Wallace- this is the most asinine trade I could possibly imagine. Wallace is WAAAAAAAAY overpaid and not nearly good enough, and getting old. Horrible, horrible idea.

Channing Frye, Jarrett Jack, and Raef LaFrentz for Andrei Kirilenko.- Horrible trade for us, except that we would get cap relief

AK to the Los Angeles Lakers, for Lamar Odom- Similar talent, I just think Lamar is an underachieving pothead.

AK and Jarron Collins to Phoenix, for Shawn Marion- in a heartbeat?

AK to Sacramento, Mike Bibby and Francisco Garcia to the Los Angeles Clippers, Corey Maggette and Tim Thomas to Utah- I would strongly consider doing this, because I really like Maggette, but I don?t think the Jazz care for Tim Thomas.

AK and Jarron Collins to Washington for Antawn Jamison- This would be kinda-sorta Ok with me, although our Defense would go even further in the toilet?

Wouldn't Jason Richardson for AK have made so much sense? Brandan Wright has bust written all over him.

Shawn Marion is the only one that makes sense. The Jazz have made it clear for the past few years that they won't trade him for cents on the weak dollar. Marion and AK are both guys who need a change of venue. The Jazz were (are) an excellent Western Conference team last year with a no-show AK. Adding Marion, would be better than what they got out of AK last year. And AK would obviously be good for Phoenix, where Nash and D'Antoni could nurture him on the offensive end and he could add a great element to their defense.

Jazz fan: Odom is one of the most well behaved guys in the league. He hasn't been attached to pot for years, so please refrain from throwing those kind of labels on him. If you look at his numbers, he's not underperforming. It's just that people put this expectation on him to be a dominant scorer, when that has NEVER been his game. He's going to be a 15-17 point, 10 rebound, 4-5 assist guy for the rest of his career. Look at his stats ( http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/s ... sId=3327). He's been consistently around that range almost every single season. Even the year everyone praised him (during his one season in Miami) he performed at basically the same level he has been performing at for his entire career. Expecting more from him at this point is just ridiculous. Report Violation | Ignore UserHoosierDaddy10885 (9/20/2007 at 10:58 AM)
How about AK and Jason Collins to Indiana. Utah will get Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, and Ike Diogu. Dunleavy and Murphy will fill the void and play fundamental basketball that will fit with the Jazz. Also, Diogu is an up and coming prospect. Indiana could use AK's versatility and he could be happy as a major part of the offense.

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &cash=

If not that, then how about Jermaine O'neal, Mike Dunleavy, and Ike Diogu to Utah for AK and Carlos Boozer. That also works out for both teams

    What do you think?

Before Garnett went to Boston, I was pushing for a trade of Okur, AK , Giricek and Brewer for Garnett, everybody here in Utah thought that was too much for Garnett. So what did the T-wolves get for Garnett?...alot less. And now what is AK's true value?... alot less. Put a fork in the JazzReport Violation | Ignore Userwsythoff (9/20/2007 at 11:01 AM)
well said nateti21: odom is anything but an underachiever. he's a warrior who does whatever to help his team. i'd like to see both AK and Odom on the Lakers. it would work if Utah took Kwame and VladRad (though I know they wouldn't dream of it). Jazz fans are dreaming if they think they can get Marion or Odom for a disgruntled, injury-prone player with a long and expensive contract and who averaged 8.3 points and 4.7 rebounds last year. I like AK-47, but please get real. The most you're going to get is Al Harrington, and that's only if you're lucky.Report Violation | Ignore Userstaractor234 (9/20/2007 at 11:12 AM)
Oh this cracks me up. Some idiot things the jazz would actually trade boozer AND milsapp in the same trade? Why don't we send D-will away too and fire sloan? Trading boozer and milsapp would be like trading away two all-stars. And who says milsapp can't play small forward? If half of you saw how Milsap performed in the Rocky Mountain Revue you would realize that Millsap is the closest thing to being untradeable. I honestly think in a couple years Millsap will be as coveted to the Jazz as D-will. Boozer is good for now, but Millsap doesn't have bum knees. I think the Marion for Kirilenko trade is the best one by far. The other one's just put us over the limit on guys for the season and further crowd up a crowded backcourt. Plus the Suns gain more. They pay the same amount for a guy who's going to be there for four more years. And for a team that is selling draft picks for cap room that sounds like a sound idea.Report Violation | Ignore Userthe_white_ime_udoka (9/20/2007 at 11:13 AM)
You all seem to forget that 1) AK47 was really good as the best player on a bad team; when he became the fourth-best player and the Jazz started winning his game went to s**t ; 2) It wasn't just the lack of touches affecting his stats; his rebounding and defense suffered as well; 3) He seemed to be causing something of a team-chemistry problem during the playoffs with his complaining that he no longer felt like part of the team.

That said, I really like AK and would love to see him succeed. His game, when on, is beautiful to watch. It's like you smushed Bruce Bowen and Detlef Schrempf into one guy. But if I'm a good or potentially good team, no way do I trade one of my top three players (Marion, Odom, Jamison, Harrington) for a guy coming off a terrible year whose career, due to injuries and/or some kind of mental meltdown, could possibly be all downhill from here.

If I'm New Jersey, I would think about Jefferson for Kirilenko and a draft pick. Jefferson is a much better player than AK right now, but for whatever reason Kidd-Vince-RJ are clearly not taking us anywhere, and maybe what we need is more defense from the forward position.

I have to agree with Joka. As a Jazz fan (stuck in Sacramento watching the Queens) I think the only trades that Kelly mentions that I'd want O'Conner to consider would be AK for Marion (this would actually be a win/win in my opinion. Marion is exactly what the Jazz starting lineup needs) and the AK for Maggete/Thomas deal (I'd pull the trigger on this one, but reluctantly).

The idea of trading the Terror-dactyl for Ben Wallace straight across is ridiculous enough. But throw Paul the Paperboy Milsap in there too? Come on! That would be ridiculous.

You know who would look GREAT in a Utah uniform? Vince Carter.

Come on, he's a great scorer! He sells tickets! He's a 25-5-5 guy! You guys need a shooting guard, right? Deron-Vince-Harpring/Milsap-Boozer-Okur. That's a GREAT starting 5. You're overloaded at the PF, you might as well trade a strength for a weakness.

Although I doubt Rod Thorn would, a lot of Net fans would do Carter for AK47 straight up, as soon as they could. If the Jazz threw in Morris Almond, even our GM might spring for it.

Just got to wait until the 15th of December (and I'm sure O'Conner is willing to wait for the right deal).

As a Jazz fan I would like to see two players off the team...AK 47 and Giri-brick. If we could package them for Maggette and Thomas I would pull the trigger. The problem I have with the Marion trade is that he would complain about being in Utah just like Fisher. I know SLC is the most boring town in the world but we need players that want to play and win for the Jazz and I feel Marion would just be playing until his contract is done. Honestly though I would give up Giri-brick to bring Ostertag back off the farm he is on (that is how much I dislike that guy). Overall I see this AK situation as a spoiled baby who is no longer the main focus on a young and upcoming team and to be honest Sloan is making the right call to have tough love with him.Report Violation | Ignore Userlucky1k3y (9/20/2007 at 11:49 AM)

antwawn jameson proved in Dallas he can do well off the bench even as a super sub.

what i find funny, is everyone in Utah wanted to trade Boozer when he was hurt. the thing is Boozer was smart and waited til he was fully healthy which is hard to do, with the guilt sloan/organization puts on players, but it's a disservice to everyone to comeback too soon. detroit pressured grant hill into coming back too quick, that is why he left detroit and they ruined his career.

This deal was suggested yesterday, and it would have to wait until some trade restrictions drop off in a couple of months, but how about this: AK to the T'Wolves for Theo Ratliff's expiring contract, Ryan Gomes, and Craig Smith or Gerald Green. The Wolves get an exciting player to match with Randy Foye and Al Harrington. The Jazz get cap relief (with room to spare after re-signing Williams) and serviceable role players. Face it -- there's not enough ball to share around with Williams, Boozer and Okur on the floor together. The Jazz need players who are willing to accept a smaller role.

The Portland trade is similar, except LaFrentz' contract lasts an extra year, and the Jazz don't need more power forwards or point guards. They need centers or small forwards.

AK is a whiner as well as everything pantherhare said. We won't be trading him, because a lot of other teams are very aware of the way he has been acting this last year and don't want the kind of ultra sensitive distraction in the locker room. I guess I should say we would be lucky to trade him.

    Wiz fan here...

I LOVE the idea of Jarron and AK coming to washington for Jamison! Antawn has been a role model and role player for us here in Wash and I think Gilbert will miss him... But hes a has been all star that just doesn't really fit as a 4 because of his size (and defense). Seems like Jamison for AK swap fits them both onto better teams for how they play. Utah already has so many bigmen, and washington the opposite, and Utah could use the veteran consistency of antawn jamison... while wash gains the defense of AK and/or Jarron. Then can we cut Etan and his book of poems and not have anymore fights on the court please?

Utah starting 5: Williams, Giricek, Jamison, Memo, Boozer

Wiz 5: Arenas, Deshawn, Caron, AK, Haywood/Collins

Looks pretty good to me for both sides!!

AK for Josh Howard. Staight up. Mind you - I love JH, but AK is an upgrade in terms of defense. If I were coach/GM *cough*, I'd move Dirk to his natural 3, start AK at the 4 with Diopier at center. Harris starts with Terry as 6th man. Stack starts at the 2. That's a big, fast lineup capable of scoring AND stopping. Report Violation | Ignore Usersargeito (9/20/2007 at 1:17 PM)
Why not trade AK and a 1st round pick for Richard Jefferson? AK would flourish in a system like New Jersey's playing up tempo basketball. Jefferson would be a good fit in Utah as he can shoot, plays defense and is a guy who could be the veteran to replace Derek Fisher.

Seems like it would make some sense for both teams.

As I said in some other post, if this were any other coach there is an easy way to make AK47 happy and effective: Make him come off the bench and run plays off him as an alternative to the pick and roll of Boozer-Williams, the same way Popovich uses Manu Ginobli.

Instead of forcing Manu to fit into their Duncan-Parker plays, they made their own plays for Manu providing alternative looks for the Spurs whenever they need it. Even when all three are in the floor at the same time, its either a Manu play or a Duncan-Parker play.

Unfortunately Sloan is a one trick pony. The moment he found the perfect replacement for Stockton and Malone, he discarded all the plays he previously ran for AK47 and went exclusively to his pick and roll. Consistent and strong but quite predictable. Pretty much the hallmark of Sloan style of coaching.

And to those who question AK47's skills and basing it on his 2006-2007 stats, you obviously did not watch the Eurobasket tournament. AK47 rocked the whole place. Offense, defense, you name it and the coach used him well (one of the best European coaches although he is half-american). Point is AK has a reason to gripe. Sloan is discarding him the same way Larry Brown was discarding Darko Millicic in Detroit back then. AK47 is wise to realize that it's simply foolish to waste away your skills just because they're paying you money. Rip up that contract, pay the penalties and go to another team.

I just had an epiphany, In the NBA certain players make other players worse! Hang with me for a minute while I organize my thoughts. Just like some players are credited with making some of their teammates better, on every team (often the same player that is making someone else better) some all star is also making some other potentially ?all star? player worse. I don?t mean worse in the sense of ?Lamar Odom never seems quite comfortable playing with Kobe? worse but ?what in God?s name happen to Larry Hughes? worse. The dynamics of the relationship is sometimes hard to decipher, Like Lebron James makes #### better but at the same time look at Larry Hughes! Compare his play now to his production when he was playing with Gilbert Arenas, who it turns out does make Larry Hughes better. Devon Williams makes Okur better but makes AK47 so much worse or maybe it is Carlos Boozer that makes him worse ( I will revisit this later). Amare Stoudemire appears to make Boris Diaw worse while Nash has the same effect on Marcus Banks. David Lee makes Channin Frye worse and appears to have no such effect on Renaldo Balkman. Allen Iverson made J R Smith worse, his pre and post Iverson stats are startling. Despite the fact that they are both ?chuckers?, Paul Pierce makes Antoine Walker better and Dwyane Wade appears to make Walker much worse, how is this possible?. Now while it could be the player?s fault for not adapting to the teammate or the coach?s fault for not finding a way to make the relationship work better, the fact is that certain players play depreciate drastically when they share th...Report Violation | Ignore Userjnnadi2003 (9/20/2007 at 2:04 PM)
the fact is that certain players play depreciate drastically when they share the court with certain other players, and this seems to be true irrespective of what position the two players in question play. One thing that I have noticed however is that if two players need to have the ball to be effective one of them will quickly suffer a decline in effectiveness. For example Lebron and Larry Hughes both thrive while making plays in open court situations (notice how Larry Hughes game improved after he moved to point guard towards the end of the season) but still all plays must run through the ?Global Icon? while in Washington the team played an equal opportunity offense with ballhandling duties, playing making and shot taking, distribution varying from night to night; and Larry Hughes looked like the best player on the court most nights. Ray Allen and another identical player Rashard Lewis both thrived on the court together but Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson are like oil and water, actually a Jefferson for Lamar trade would be in best interest of the Lakers and the Nets but I digress, the point is that whatever chemistry it takes for a player to make his teammates better, some players have the exact reverse effect on other players. It's not that Deron or Boozer makes AK47 worse, it's just that Sloan wants to use AK47 as a perimeter player something he is not. Sloan idea is simple, that's what he needs and its Kirilenko's job to adapt to it and do it.

Thing is AK47 was not built to be a perimeter player. It's like asking Stockton to be a shooting guard. He can do it but it would be a complete waste of talent. Sloan wants AK47 to be the new Byron Russel to his new Stockton and Malone (Deron and Boozer).

So I ask you this, if some coach was forcing Stockton or Jason Kidd to play shooting guard against their will even after begging and talking to them, does those players have a right to demand a trade or not?

If a team has both Magic Johnson and Stockton, Stockton would rather come off the bench and be backup point guard rather than be forced to become a starting shooting guard. That's what Sloan needs to do with Kirilenko. Make him your sixth man and use him as an alternative focal point of offense rather than force him to become a jump shooter. Not only does it make AK47 more effective (and happy), it gives them multiple looks that will keep the defense guessing.

AK to Dallas for Jason Terry and whoever else they want to make the money work. I dream of the day that Kirilenko is a Maverick. With AK, Dirk can move back outside on offense, where he is much more comfortable anyway than trying to post up the Duncans and Garnetts of the NBA. Utah gets one of the best and most consistent jump shooters in the league who's also a good character guy. Basically the perfect replacement for Derek Fisher. Sounds good for both teams, everyone improves.Report Violation | Ignore Userstock_to_malone1232 (9/20/2007 at 2:32 PM)

The ONLY reason AK wants to play in LA is because the Lakers have the BEST point guard in the Nation. What the Jazz need is someone who can defend wing players. They got torched left right and center by the Kobes, Redds etc of the League. RICHARD JEFFERSON woul dbe perfect. It's been suggested by some people above but it can't be suggested enough. That would be a nice trade for the Nets too, RJ's game is too similar to VC's for both to contribute as much as they are capable of. AK47 would flourish for sure playing with Kidd and at PF next to Krstic/Magloire. He would also bring the interior D that the Nets have needed so badly for so long. If the Jazz get rid of Paul Milsap, they will lose any advantage on the boards that they have when Boozer is getting a rest, So there goes Big Ben Wallace... The Suns offensive system has no need for Jarron Collins, (big, slow, and defensive minded) and as we have seen from the Suns before, offense is thought of more highly than defense. There used to be a time when players who complained about playing time and how they were used were banished from the league. It is high time we start that tradition yet again. The media needs to stop portraying these players in a way as to make them sound like victims. They are highly paid to perform regardless of how the team chooses to use them and they should shut up and put forth effort. If they don't like it, then the players union should allow teams to dismiss players for lack of performance without having to pay. Then you would see all of these jokers shut up and make an effort because they may find themselves out of a job and losing their big fat contracts.
