The names have been mentioned. Superstars like New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams and Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard -- the players that will likely headline the 2012 crop of NBA free agents.

It is believed that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban didn't re-sign Tyson Chandler, J.J. Barea and DeShawn Stevenson because he wanted the salary cap space to make a run at a couple of stars to pair with Dirk Nowitzki.

However, Cuban has said he isn't necessarily trying to acquire both Williams and Howard, claiming he....

I wonder if they will go after James Harden because I doubt OKC can keep both Harden & Ibaka and not go way, way over the cap.

Imagine if we had James Harden coming off the bench. Will never happen in a million years, but man. I think Harden is getting 10 million plus a year, Ibaka probably 8. But if there is a team out there willing to give him 15 million, I think he will jump ship from OKC. Especially if he gets a chance to start.

Harden is the next Ginoblli, possibly a better Ginoblli. He's a bettter player than WestBrook IMO.

As for the Mavs, I see DWill joining them then maybe Eric Gordon or Chris Kaman. JKidd will retire. IF Mavs sign Gordon than I see Terry leaving, if they sign Chris Kaman than Hayword will be amnesty and they will also resign Mahimni or w/e his name is.

Cuban gambled this season by not signing back their free agents in return for a cap space next season....Cuban probably think its enough he got Lamar in exchange for almost nothing, which at the beginning I thought was he a lucky guy by landing LO...but that story we all know does not work out....Bottomline Dallas is the oldest team in the NBA...they need to inject youth, energy and speed to this team...for the game is changing now...They will get a superstar indeed next season BUT IMO it is not enough for a single player to turn this franchise back to championship contender....They wont pay Jason Terry the same $$$,they probably amnesties Haywood (ridicules salary)...overall new Mavs for next season...and they might not get the proper piece that they need...
