The rapper was being treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node.

MCA’s actual cause of death has not been revealed.

MCA co-founded the Beastie Boys in 1979 with Mike D, Mix Master Mike, and Ad Roc.

He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Last month, The Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but MCA was not present at the ceremony in Cleveland.

wow, cancer takes another great talent. The Beastie Boys have some of the illest tracks, when I think of the Beastie Boys I always want to yell out "go white boy, go white boy, go". RIP MCA
