Quote:
In the third quarter of the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 26th 2012 -Miami Heat point guard Dwyane Wade fouled Kobe Bryant across the face, breaking his nose and giving him a concussion. For the next five weeks of the NBA season, Kobe sported a clear, protective face mask. He played 11 games while wearing it and scored a total of 342 points, averaging over 30 points per game with it on. While wearing the mask on March 9th against the Timberwolves, Kobe hit his 29,000th career point.
This is your chance to own a piece of NBA history. For a basketball fan, this is an amazing, one-of-a kind sports artifact. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation’s Youth Homelessness Initiative, the primary goal of which is to have a measurable, positive impact on the critical issue of youth homelessness in Los Angeles.

That was a really good response DaAssasins. LSD needs to stay out of anything Kobe positive. |

WTF are you guys talking about? I just said that it "figures" and offered an LOL. How is that hate? Seriously, what's the matter with you? You guys obviously have it out of for me if you're going to accuse me of "hate" based on my above comment. Wow.
When I said "figures", I only meant that it makes sense that Kobe is doing that. Obviously his fans would appreciate a chance to bid on something like that. Then I offered an "LOL", to suggest that I found the topic amusing.
You guys jump to some really ridiculous conclusions about some of the things I say on this site, and it's insulting.

I'm being accused of "hate" for saying "LOL, figures". I don't feel the need to lighten up when I'm accused of hating even when I'm offering nothing even remotely negative towards Kobe.
I'm being told to "lighten up" but maybe some of you guys should stop jumping to conclusions and taking a judgmental attitude towards me at every opportunity. Anybody on these forums should be able to offer a harmless comment like "LOL, figures" without being ridiculed. Give me a freaking break, man. |

You are making way too much of this, stop being a drama queen. You know your passed rep on Kobe and if you can't take a joke, then you are a joke. |

Personal attacks reported. Drama queen? Just stop with the name calling.
Honestly, I have no problem joking around with people who are consistently respectful and friendly with me on this site, and who I find more common ground with. Others on this site, such as yourself and DaAssasins seem to be at odds with me most times and I have no inclination to joke around or get all "buddy buddy" with you guys.
If you're going to call me names and ridicule me, and then turn around and act like I'm supposed to take it all as some funny joke, then you've got another thing coming. I don't play that stuff... not with you guys. |

Tailspin,
You know better. One direct insult followed by a second. You've been around here since 09 and you know the rules. If you want to say something to LSD, keep the name calling out.
Don't do any more personal attacks. This is a warning.
Any of you guys feel like taking your disputes into the pit? |

I am sorry Dave and SPQR, now that I am re-reading my post, I did a poor job in expressing myself in trying to point-out that someone was making something out of nothing. I apologize and I will just drop it, my bad |

It's all good lakeshowsd, I know that "figures" comment was directed to me, since as a big time Kobe fan, that I'd be bidding. But, as you can see, I played along with it, and joked along with you. So let's not make this more than it is. |

Actually no, my comment was not in any way directed to you. As I said before, I directed the comment toward MOY24LAKERS original post. "LOL, figures" was meant to express my amusement at the subject of this thread, and to suggest that it makes sense for Kobe to put the mask up for auction. There was nothing negative or hateful about my comment or it's intent.
My world doesn't revolve around you on this site, DaAssasins, so your assumption that my comment applied to you directly is incorrect. You pretty much jumped the gun and wrongly assumed I was spreading "hate". If you don't understand that at this point, then I'm sorry for you. |

Ok Lakeshowsd, I guess its another concidence, that you replied right after I replied. It's also a concidence then, that even when I'm not online, or make comments on a thread, you are still mentioning my name...but I guess thats a concidence.
Your a Laker fan, I'm a Laker fan, don't try to spin this into something bigger, just enjoy our 2-0 lead, and just press the Ignore button, so you wont have to deal with anymore misinterpretations. |

I do enjoy a healthy debate every now and again, so it's always unfortunate when I have to ignore other site members.
Still, I may have to press the ignore button on you if a pattern of continuing to blatantly mock, ridicule, and belittle me without any justification continues. You know, coincidences actually do happen in this world, Assasins and for your information, I didn't even bother to read or pay attention to your post when I said "LOL, figures".
Good day to you, sir. |

Honestly, I don't really care what you do or how you support the team. What you do in your personal time or in your life is really of no consequence to me Assasins. If it makes you feel better, after i collect the winnings on our bet, I will leave your name out of all future posts because I'd just as soon have nothing to do with you. |

| ^Nope, not rooting for the Thunder.... just accepting the inevitable reality that the best team will emerge from the Western Conference: and that team will be the OKC Thunder. I'll root for the Lakers all the way through, and I'll even root against my own personal interests in the bet. I just hope you're honest and honorable enough to actually pay up when the time comes... |

Okay, just a quick question... I haven't been following any of this Kobe/Vanessa stuff.
But is there a reason that this is still called the "Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation’s Youth Homelessness Initiative?" |

SPQR:
I have to come to come to AyeDGAF's defense a little bit. The no homo saying is from an episode of "The Boondocks". The title of that television episode was called "Pause" but what it means is if you say something that sounds somewhat gay then you're suppose to say no homo. You remember last season against the Orlando Magic that they interviewed Dwight Howard and he said Andrew Bynm was so long, he stopped and said Pause? I texted you about it telling you it was in reference to that episode of the Boondocks. You most likely don't remember. My point being is that I don't feel he was really using the slur in a inflammatory way towards anyone. I hope you can take that into consideration. |

Gem,
No problem at all. I won't even consider it warning to AyeDGAF. Didn't realize the context. But still a proscribed word here because it is a hate pejorative used to deride a certain group of people. He shouldn't throw that word out on the forum just like other offensive words of that caliber should not be used.
I understand what the Boondocks are doing, after reading your explaination. And I watch many shows and movies that have rough language or funny and amusing use of words.
But the Boondocks have their rules and Dave has his. He doesn't want bigoted words on here because they are made to offend people, that is their express purpose.
Anyway Gem, I know you know all that. I am writing this so AyeDGAF understands that he can't keep using that word even though he meant no harm. It is a well known hate term used by bigots. |

| SPQR: I totally feel you on that and I agree with you. I definitely wasn't saying why I said so he can have a hall pass to say it again. I'll pm him about it just in case he hasn't revisited this thread. |

haha...there are a lot of Bynum fans here, so he would probably fetch at least $10 in a bidding war. LOL. |

Assasin,
Congrats! You are the first member EVER to ask to take it to the pit. What happens is this: You and your opponent, if he or she agrees, goes to the pit. You each will have say, fifteen turns to make your points. Like you start off, then the opponent rebutes. Then you go again. After the fifteen turns each, you both get a chance to sum up your positions. Then we have a vote on who won.
Also, if both of you agree, normal rules of LTB can be suspended, meaning, that yes, you can get crude and insulting. If you think someone said something stupid, you can say it, lol.
"You just said something stupid, dummy! Damn your I thought you were a moron, and now you are proving it out yourself!!"
As an example. But Assasins, that would only apply if both agree to a bare knuckles, no holds barred debate without the regular rules.
That is about it, Assasin. If you want to take it to the pit and you find an opponent willing, send me a PM and Ill get the show on the road. |

Def,
Yes, in a way, electronically removed. It would be great if we could supply both participants with maces or clubs and let them go at it. Then we could post the vid on youtube and really attact attention to LTB.
Or even have a pay per view part of LTB where we post the fight vids for viewing by members or others. We could probably start to bring in some nice cash flow.
But I don't think the jail time would be fun so.... |

Now if you were to give them maces or clubs it will be taking back to the Gladiator days. I have never seen the debate pit. |

Throw in either MSDS or Lakerdude sense both of them are the ones that always seem to be arguing with DaAssasins. |
