LOS ANGELES " Kobe Bryant’s head bobbed and nodded over and over. Between the locker room and the loading dock inside Staples Center on Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers star had been asked to rewind his mind back to the end in Dallas a season ago, back to the darkness of a defeat that left him fearing finality. Eyes closed tightly, Bryant repeated the words, “Yes … Yes … Yes …"
Finally, Bryant let out a long sigh and insisted, “I wondered how I was ever going to play basketball again.”
His arthritic knee had gone bone on bone, making every.... Please log in to view the entire post.

| Man that knee must have been sooo painful last year. You know he never makes excuses so it must've been really bad. You could actually see it, whenever he went for a dunk he just had to try so hard, it seemed like he was 50. He still had a great season compared to most other players but u could definitely see he wasn't his normal self. So glad he's back on track. Now go get that 6th ring! |

| I'm grateful we can talk about something meaningful like the Lakers leader focused on winning a championship. The guy is going all out to do everything in his power to get that 6th ring, and the thing about Kobe is whether he's on or off he's still going hard. Thats what a true professional and champion does. If anybody needs reference think back to the final game against Dallas. He played to the end, loss like a man and shook hands, thats how a leader conducts himself. Then he comes back stronger and hungrier, the case in point. You dont have to like the man,but respect his greatness,I believe he's earned it |

Just like the end of Rocky III: "Too bad, Stallion, that we have to grow old." Too bad. But Kobe is showing us you don't give up until you HAVE TO give up!
I might add, as Lakers fans, I cannolt understand "Kobe Haters." Only once in a generation a baller comes along this good. Whether it is Magic, MJ or Kobe, they all deserve our respect and admiration.
And we should appreciate him. There aren't many of 'em. |

| Great post Baadmaster! I too, don't understand the disrespect Kobe gets on a Laker forum, some here treat Kobe like he's a Grant Hill type player now. When in fact he is still arguably the best player in the game still. Game 1: 31 pts Game 2: 38 pts.... George Karl like he said in his post game interview needs 5 to 6 players on his team, playing at there best to win. While the Lakers only need 3. Luckily for us, we have Kobe, who game in and game out, can be relied on to still carry this team, even when the rest of the team shoots 0-12 from 3pt line, and our bench scores 8 pts combine. |

That comment sounds funny if viewed out of context. LOL.
Still, I understand where Kobe's coming from and perhaps I was wrong to write him off after last year. He was not so much "old" in last year's playoffs as he was injured, and I think I fully understand that now.
He's come out of the gate like a wild man against the Nuggets in this series, so obviously old Kobe's knee feels better and it's clear that he's still a top 5 NBA player; perhaps even top 3 (though I'd have a hard time picking him over KD and Lebron). |

Hey, at least you got Kobe #2. Sh*t, that's a lot higher than ESPN ranks Kobe. LOL |

| i think Kobe and KD is interchangable on top #2, there both unstoppable when on Fire but when cold they both hurt the team. |

Kobe and Melo are streaky players and Durant seems to be joining them and deviating from the LeBron, Wade path, who stuff up the box score efficiently.
Top 10 IMO this post-season ( I removed those who got injured ):
1. LeBron
2. CP3
3. Kobe
4. Durant
5. Wade
6. Parker
7. Bynum
8. Pierce
9. Westbrook
10. Melo |
