ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported that the Houston Rockets are offering Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic and potentially a first-round pick for Pau Gasol.
A skeptical fan’s reaction to this trade is that the Lakers are giving up three quarters for a dollar, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Gasol isn’t the best power forward in the world that analysts were labeling him after he aided LA in winning back-to-back titles. The Spaniard is averaging just 16.7 points per game this season compared to 15.2 from Scola. Believe it or not, there wouldn't be a drastic....Please log in to view the entire post.

| No. It's Lowry + Scola + pick(s) for Gasol or nothing. |

| Kevin martin would be a GREAT addition to our bench..Last year he averaged the 2nd most points per 40 minutes behind only who other than KOBE? Luis Scola is a solid 4 man, and Goran Dragic is a steve nash in the making after working under him for those years in phoenix I say do this! |

i like this... just move kobe to the 3
Also.. We then posses 3 draft picks in the most stacked draft since 03.
We could potentially acquire both felton and beasley with those assists.
However, i would trade blake and pick to portland to get Felton and possibly acquire Beasley only one pick.
Felton/Dragic
Martin/Beasley
Kobe/Beasley
Scola
Bynum
WoW! |

we could have dragic in the offseason. i say hell no!!
i think this means that houston will eventually cave on adding lowry. also i think we could get this same deal on draft day(except for dragic) so we just have to wait. the only way we should do this is if they absorb mettas contract |

| F***, that's a tough call. sh*t, man. Kevin Martin is flat out baller. The guy can really shoot the rock and the Lakers could REALLY use a guy other than Kobe who can create his own shot. I've always been a fan of Scola too. He's just a fundamentally sound player. I like Dragic's game too. He's a feisty little Slovenian, man. SH*T, but I hate to lose Pau!!! Man, I'm glad I don't have to make these tough decisions. LOL |

| Lowry isnt going anywhere. HOuston will keep him. I wont be suprise if Mitch would take a deal like these before the deadline expires. If they want Pau as bad as they do then we need to get as much as we can. I feel like that trade is not enough. Similar to what Denver did to New York. We really do need better role players on this team. |

| I don't know about this. But if it's this years 1st. Guys we would have 3.. We can move up the latter with 2!!! I'm almost 90% sure we can land 1 or 2 by trading 2 1st rnd. Picks maybe even all 3 if It's worth it, I haven't watched College Basketball so I have no ideal who is projected to go #1 or #2... I guesses its time to watch some NCAA again. |

| Guys as much as I love Pau Gasol..This season his minutes have gone up and his numbers have ALL went down check it out for yourselves..He only averages 1 point more than scola and 4 more rebounds we are the top rebounding team in the league, and also Scola shoots a good % and can stretch the floor just like Pau..I also think hes tougher than Gasol, because honestly in the playoffs last year gasol showed that he is well..Sometimes SOFT...Not too mention Kevin Martin to come off the bench or move Kobe to the 3 that adds another offensive threat to our team, and we also get an upgrade at the point guard position with the young Goran Dragic, and like I said hes a young steve nash in the making after working under him those years in phoenix |

| Damn I was really hoping Lowry was gonna be included atleast if we did any deal with them especially if we're giving up Pau but that 1st rd pick is crucial. Deep draft this year. |

Dragic/Blake/FIsh
Kobe/Martin
MWP/Barnes
Scola/Murphy/Mcroberts
Bynum
then we have 3 1st round picks??? damn
do you think if we offer those 3 picks to nets they will bite to give us D-Will? |

| The Draft this year is so deep and if we can improve without trading our picks we can grab some really good talent this year, or even like someone said trade 2 picks up to get a better one! |

| I like this trade. Dragon is a capable starter, and so is Sxola, plus Martin could be a great apart off the bench plus we get another 1st rounder? That's awesome, but how would the minutes work, and such? |

| If the Lakers made this deal, what the hell would our starting lineup be? I have no clue. Would Dragic play ahead of Fisher or Blake? I doubt it. Hmmmm. D@mn it would be sweet to have Martin and Scola though. Could Kobe be moved to the 3 spot? Would the Lakers lose too much defense in their starting lineup with Pau gone and MWP coming off the bench? Too many questions... I just don't know.... |

I like Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic a bunch, young can score and can grow with Bynum beyond Kobe's years and help the team now.
Add in the fact that Luis Scola is a decent player and then a first-round pick that may be pretty high....If your the Lakers you really have to consider this trade... |

Kevin Martin off the bench as our 6 man kobe still at the 2 goran dragic starting and blake backing him up..Fisher just gets in where he fits in lol..We'd be great could then trade andrew goudelock and 2 picks for D-Will |

No way we get Williams. Not enough cap space and not only that it seems more and more that Dwight just mite test free agency. If he does then New Jersey would be the front runners to grab him. They still have a better chance then any other team in the nba to get Dwight even with the lopez injury. Sessions and Calderon are more realistic and either one will be a upgrade over what we have at the 1. |

Long shot here but could we/would we want to flip Martin and Dragic for Turner and Holiday? Nocioni added to balance salaries. Obviously I would want Deron Williams but this could be a possibility too.
I'd rather go after D-will than Holiday and Turner.. D-Will + Kmart or Holiday + Turner? Lol not a tough decision |

Why all of the sudden you guys talking about D. Will? Last night I started a Topic "D. Will Now" and it was deleted like I was some kind of idiot not knowing what I was talking about.. NJ well loose D. Will to Dallas.
because we never thought of this, no one will offer a pick for an aging Pau.then all of sudden we could have 3 picks plus assets to offer for D-Will. |

I guesses its time to watch some NCAA again.
thats the most tempting thing about this proposal. i think houston has new yorks pick which is probably going to be in the late teens. so is two picks in the early 20s and one in the late teens good enough to help us move up into the lottery? i dont know but we might be able top use all 3 and build depth for the future |

It's just been reported that Dwight wants to STAY in Orlando and both sides are trying to work out a deal that makes that happen..Sooooo Yeah...But trading dragic and a 1st rounder for Sessions wouldnt be a bad move! |

actually we have an upgrade Dragic, he is very smart basketball player and can shoot.he was mentored by Steve Nash.he just doesn't have a chance to showcase his talent in Rockets because he is coming off the bench. Dragic/Blake. then we could save or trade our 3 draft picks in the offseason |

Well, I actually felt insulted. Getting Deron IS a possibility.... It was with 2 picks plus Pau. It still is with 3 picks... But they well still would want Pau Since we would ridiculously over the cap. |

Your thinking exactly the way I am thinking man. We would drastically improve and go from having the worst bench in the league to having a really good one just by adding kevin martin to our bench |
