Also, the Lakers reportedly are trying to find a way to land Paul Pierce.
Not sure yet, what they are willing to give up.
But again, it won't be an easy deal to make.
The Celtics love him, obviously.

Walton+Metta works. But how does Pierce exactly help us?? Hes 34 and his contract ends in 3 years. |

| this is not happening. This was a rumor i herd on Perdon the Interuption and i agree. WHy would the lakers get Paul Pierce. He isnt getting any younger here in a younger nba. Not only that the celtics would want an andrew Bynum or even Pau Gasol because they do need a center. This would make no sense what so ever. This is something thats going around the nba though if its on Espn. |

| I'd be looking to get Rondo, not Pierce. Rondo is no CP3 or D Will, but he is a good playmaker, despite the fact he has no shot. lol. |

I wouldn't want Rondo on the Lakers. Although he is a pretty good PG, he can't spread the floor because of his inability to shoot the ball. Also he is a hot-head who has maturity issues. Last year he threw a bottle against the TV and shattered it because Doc Rivers was giving some criticism to Rondo for what he did wrong. That's not someone I want playing for the Lakers, someone who can't take constructive criticism to better improve their game.
Given, Kobe and Fish would maybe make sure he didn't do something childish, but who knows. I don't know who the Lakers could even give up for him. |

rondo is a competitor. he's the only player on the celtics worth anything. he's tough as nails and creates shots for others not to mention he plays some good d. i'd take him over any pg we currently have. |

| It only makes sense for the Lakers if it's a salary dump by the Celtics and Ainge probably wants value in return. If I'm Ainge, I dangle Rondo to the Nets for DWill if NJ doesn't land Dwight. Looking at Boston's lineup, KG and Ray Allen come off the books this summer and Pierce is the only one left (along with Rondo) commanding a big price. Ainge is likely only going to unload Pierce for youth/picks/expirings. If he lands someone like DWill and bounces Pierce, he can make an offer to Dwight. He'll have the cap space. |

^ ... but he's such a douche.
And a celt. just can't get past it. for the sake of historical rivalry significance and just the fact that most of Laker nation can't stand him and that he's old, I think we would be better off without this old fart coming riding our pine. |

NO THANKS.
Also, that's disrespectful of the Celtics trading their franchise player just like that. If someone's gotta go, it's either Garnett or Allen. They won't give up Rondo. |

same thing i was thinking, all the years that he's been there now all of a sudden they want to trade him.. i kinda feel that rondo has taken paul's spot seems like the team is centered around him now. anyway i feel like the FO should be looking at other players |

Actually it is a possibility. A third team would have to be involved. Here's an example:
Lakers give up Pau, get Rondo
Hawks give up Teague and Josh Smith, get Pau
Celtics give up Rondo, get Teague and Josh Smith
OR
Lakers give up Pau, get DWill
Nets give up DWill, get Rondo
Celtics give up Rondo, get Pau |

| Maybe if he had an expiring contract, he gets like 16 mil a year for the next 3 years, why the f*ck would we want that? I refuse to believe the Lakers are going after him, sounds like bullsh*t... |

I hope this is just so Kupchak can nix the deal with the newly recognized power of the Stern Veto. How could you guys want Pierce. He's old, and getting older. He has a sweet unblockable stroke and it would help Kobe on the offensive end immensely, but this can't happen.
Other than Garnett himself, there is nobody I despise more. People stop talking about Rondo to the lakers if that wasn't the posted rumor. It's Pierce!! And we don't want him. |

| Wow, i can't believe some people here are willing to see Pierce in a Lakers uni. No way in hell would i ever want this guy on the Lakers, even if it is for a bag of peanuts. The guy has a lot of hatred and history against the Lakers and real Laker fans can not stand what this guy stands for. He is a classless dude who is on the downside of his career. We DO NOT need his services. What we do need, as has been repeated by many other people on this site, is a true PG who has play making ability. |

| HELL NO.........specially after he fake that leg injury in the Finals, then came back out and had a (mini) Jordan like moment. He can not be allowed to enter LAKERS sacred grounds. Enemy of the Lakers for life. Remember Kevin McHale had a chance to trade Kevin Garnett to us, and because he's a Celtic for life he sent Kevin to his boy Danny Ainge. SO I SAY HELL TO THE NAH!!!! |

@ Ghostnugget
that's why it is important to play into the season first and look other teams performance. right know celtics are looking to rebuild and maybe we can include them in a 3 team trade. |

| I consider this thread false advertisement. Three teams that will never trade with each other; Boston and Lakers, Clippers and Lakers, and Portland and Lakers. SO STOP THE NONSENSE!!!! |

Don't want him, don't need him, too old, too much money due to him.
In conclusion: HELL NO. |

| As annoying and classless Paul Pierce is, if it means ridding ourselves of walton and metta, why not? Look at it this way, its like chemotherapy to stop the spread of the cancer that is luke and metta. |
