On these stats it shows that Bynum is heavier than Oden and Kwame.
If these stats are updated, I believe that Bynum might have gotten bulkier.
And dont forget, Bynum is ONLY 3 months older than Oden and has 2 years of NBA experience. So I believe Bynum might not be as bad as we think.

Bynum was already 7-0 275 last year...

A lot of you guys weren't around when Kobe entered the league. He came right out of HS like Bynum. Guess what? Kobe was not all that great his first two years. It was not until his third season that he started to come into his own. Other high school players like JO, struggled their first couple of seasons. JO got traded because his progress was so slow. So I think the fans should be a little more patient with AB. If you can not see his potential, then maybe you will when he has a bust out season in his third year. Actually, pray that he does. We definitely need something to happen.

lets hope so jammy. byno's progrees will be a key if we are going to have success this coming season. if he shows much improvement, then we can be a 50 plus win team. if he plays like last season, expect another 40 to 45 win season and an early playoff exit.

Since I'm not familiar with JO's early career I went to go check it out. I was surprised to see that it took him 6 seasons to put up good numbers. It may have been different if Portland had let him play some minutes but the fact still stands. That wasn't the only surprise either. In the 00-01 playoffs he scored 9.8 PPG. The very next season he jumped all the way to 17.2PPG. Thats a huge leap!! It didn't have to do with minutes either. He actually played more minutes per game the season before.

yeah, JO never got any minutes in portland. that team was stacked with big men like brian grant, sheed, and sabonis.

IF Bynum is still on our team....he would need to have a MONSTER season! Otherwise, every single Laker fan will be extremely frustrated

I think I have stated this before, and will reiterate the statment:

Kobe - fresh out of high school
Kwame - fresh out of high school
Bynum - fresh out of high school
KG - fresh out of high school
JO - fresh out of high school

Do we see a common thread with the players that Kupchak seems to pursue?

So, I can only make this one deduction: Mitch likes the young boys.

But in all seriousness, Bynum is basically JO when he was first in the league. But like grizz said, it took him about 4-6 years to put up those numbers. I think that Bynum is a little more advanced than JO was, and has had more court time than JO did in his first few years. So, maybe his progress will be accelerated and this is the year he has his break out season. Only time will tell.

it may not, but it definitely makes it harder to get pushed around down low. also, mass usually means that he has gained more muscle, as muscle has more mass than fat. also, think about what it would do for the kid's confidence level? How many meat heads do you know that don't walk around like they are God's gift to the world? Mass does a lot. It may not aid his abilities, but it can definitely aid his mentality.

By defination mass the a bodies ability to resist movement. It would be very important to a post player. No, it does not change his skill set. That is what Kareem is doing. From what I have read, the Logo has said the Byno has a bright future and kareem has said that he feels that Byno will be better this year. He will still only be 20 years old, so you don't expect a huge improvement. But don't e have to trust our top players from the past to give us good advise? I can get the KAJ link here but it is on sportales.com

ROFL. I don't remember there being a miracle to overcome idiocy in the Bible. I guess Mitch is out of luck.
