I know that the KG sweepstakes have come and gone, and it hurts us a bit. If you had control over everything in the Lakers organization, REALISTICALLY speaking, what would you do? If you are one of the best advisers for Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak, what would you suggest the franchise to do knowing that some of your rivals have reloaded and shuffled some players to improve and you team just signed an old point guard and a cancer survivor?
If I meant something to the Lakers, I would talk Mitch into trading with the Memphis Grizzlies. I would explain to them that another year of losing will piss Pau off more, so instead of sticking it out for one more year, you trade them to us and give you an expiring so you can fully start your rebuild mode. To top that off, we give you a sought after project center who may or may not be a star but can surely be a good player in the future in return for a shooter who has a bad contract. We can always talk about the fillers but what we are really after is Pau and Mike M.
For those who says JO is our counter to the Celts signing KG, well, you're wrong. He is not the answer. He is injury prone and we are giving too much to acquire him.
I say get Pau, Mike and Kyle Lowry. Give Lamar, Kwame and Sasha.
What about all of you guys, what do you want to be done by Lakers that is realistic enough to actually be done? |

| Go for either JO or Pau... And I'd make sure to force them to be more aggressive about it! The Nets I've heard also want J-Neal. |

| Hmm... Well after KG's acquisition, I'd imagine the Nets would beef up their stance on getting JO... And so should we! |

| I read that the Nets have no interest in JO any more. If my memory serves me right they weren't going head over heals for KG like so many users here did. |

| I dont know if their is anything we can do to actually improve or win loss record at this point. Getting JO might not help us since realalisticallly JO and Lamar have the same skill level |

i agree with LFTW's trade. we wouldn't lose LO. Gasol averages the same or better than JO in every thing except blocks which he still gets 2 a game. + he costs a lot less |

well i disagree on that note. we do need mike miller. if we have a solid post option, kobe running around humiliating his defenders..we need someone who can knock down the open shot..and that's exactly what mike miller does. |

We have Vlad Rad to do that you forget his shooting hand was injured the whole year last year, if he's healthy he is a big threat from the outside |

true but what's to guarantee he'll be shooting lights out when he returns? |

i would trade odom bynum and cook and crittenton for oneal and granger. then i would take vlad and sasha and trade trade with minny for trenton hassel and mark madsen. I would then sign melvin ely with the rest of the mle, giving us a team of
fisher/farmar
kobe/evans
granger/walton/karl
