With the impending KG to Boston deal maybe hours if not days away from happening what's next for the Lakers? Getting Jermaine? But at what price? Pau? Last I hear he's staying in Memphis. Ron Ron? Buss will veto any attempt to get him and last I heard he wanted to stay in Sactown. All of the signs point to the fact that we are most likely going into training camp with the current lineup and that disappoints me...This team even when fully healthy can not compete for a championship, JC has upside but hasn't played a single NBA game, Farmar should be decent but at this point is just a roleplayer, Bynum is going to be expected to take light year leaps from last season, another year with a disgruntled Kobe...and another 1st round exit....The key date is august 1st, 2nd, or 3rd (not entirely sure when JC was signed) and that is when Javaris can be traded.
IMO we are going to give up Bynum, Odom, and Critt out of desperation for JO when we should be giving them either a Bynum or an Odom package+Farmar.
These are my thoughts and so far it's a pretty disappointing offseason... |

On the contrary, the offseason is really good so far....to think, we only had Farmar as our PG when the season ended and now we have Fisher and J Crittenton, who was the best player the Lakers could've hoped for at #19, along with Farmar.
3 solid PGs to start the season, which 2 have decent trade value.
Also, re-signing Mihm to a cheap 2 year 5 mill deal helps our depth and also provides us leverage to trade away other pieces like Kwame's contract or Bynum.
Trading away Farmar, Bynum or Kwame won't be a major hit anymore because we have Fisher, Critt and Mihm remaining to fill the hole, not to mention the other player (JO maybe?) that we get in return for them.
So I say it's not been that bad. We plugged in the holes and now we have movable parts. |

yes we did plug in holes but although we have movable parts doesn't mean other teams want those parts |

| plan b is looking good to me. trade a project and an overpaid slightly above average third option who has never been an all star, for JO who is an all star and a consistent 20-10 guy. |

| After seeing the celtics try and stick it to us again...dam that mcfailure..what happens now? (side note: if McFailure gets fired by the Twolves during the offseason, and hired by danny boy..I will be very upset) Jerry West has more class than to be sneaky like the celtics. Do we make the deal for JO and pay with LO and Byno? Do we wait it out and hope we make it the second round and hope KB is happy with that? Do we make a strong effort to get Ron Ron and trade Byno and Brown? |

| Well the recent signing of Coby Karl could indicate something we have a 15 man roster now so maybe a trade that guts some of our players? |

| I think we should go for JO now!!!! I mean he will be a huge upgrade and will provide us with another star to go beside Kobe. We need to do it ASAP. Also I think we need to really explore the Artest situation. I think we need to make moves, not sit and wait until next season!! |

| JO...i'm sorry but i'm completely against it..he's too overhyped. he's a rim player..and has fg% under 50? umm no. sorry. not only that but he's injury prone..and idk about you guys but i'm a little bit tired of injuries in laker land...i agree about the artest...but its unlikely..i say start looking around at other players..and get kobe as well as pj involved in the convos..would go a long way to make him happy |

| I think you are both correct...the karl signing may indicate that something is going down soon? and maybe we get JO and Ron ....if we could only land stephen jackson...we would be the pacers plus KB and DFish |

| I think JO will be even better than his all star days if he comes to LA. I mean he will be a #2 option. He will not get the double teams and will be a monster inside. I really think without a big guy down low to go along with Kobe we dont have a chance. I dont think Byno is the answer. |

stephen jackson + la...umm can you say suspension waiting to happen? I'm sorry but sj has too much of a history of idiocy. do we really need that along with a semi-young team? |

| Karl is way better than Sasha maybe we're sending out Mo or vujacic so we need some depth at the 2? |
