He sacrificed himself throughout the entire WCF and Finals. Drain after drain... doesn't deserve it? What a ignorant thing to say.

Apparently, his team didnt deserve to touch the national championship last year.

Just another idiotic statement from a less than rookie who hasn't played one minute in professional ball of any sort. To top it off, hes from Sacramento...one of the dumpsters of the NBA. I went to the double overtime game vs the Lakers there this year. It was so sweet to see all those butt hurt fans. They kept screaming TYREKE over the loud speakers , and the radio announcers were equating him to Kobe Bryant. Now they will have 2 over rated young players to hype up. Don't worry sac fans..by the time these guys are maturing, their rookie contracts will be up, and you wont be willing to spend the money to keep them. Enjoy your mediocrity.

He screamed "F*** you" to Calapari during a game once.

He has the intelligence of a twelve year old, maturity of an eight year old, and the temper of a two year old.

I mean cmon, his nicknames "Boogie". Nuff said.

You guys have no class. A question: If you meet somebody on the street that is a blithering idiot with the I.Q. of a tadpole, spouting out total nonsense, what do you do? I would just pass on, maybe throw a nickel into his tin cup, and ignore him! To notice and react to an idiot, is to endow the idiot with a value that is not intrinsically his! This guy is a flea, forget him.

this douchebag Cousins is already opening his mouth...he's going to be a bust not because he lacks talent, but because he has no character and teams won't want to deal with his attitude on and off the court. I never liked this guy and probably won't like him in the NBA either.

Can't wait to see Bynum pwn him during the regular season because the Kings certainly won't make the playoffs.

WOW.... if this idiot really said this, that is not cool. i mean he is jus sum punk kid rookie he has'nt even played in a single game yet. Tho bynum didnt contribute as much as he should of, he did fight thru his injury and i commend him 4 dat. his bulk and size was needed in the finals aganist Boston. i would hav liked 4 bynum 2 do more in the playoffs, but he did contribute in winning the championship. Counsins is a F*kin idiot 4 saying this (if he really did) I hope bynum stays helthy 4 da rest of career, so he can dominate this lil bi*ch in Sacramento 4 times a year... Cousins will neva even sniff the trophy as long as he's a Sacramento Queen!!!!! lmao

Andrew Bynum has bigger concerns than what some idiot said about him. He just needs to stay healthy all season and not worry about being this stupid beast thing or whatever. Cousins is a loser so who cares what he says.

let the trash talking begin, he can say all he want but still at the end of the day, Bynum is still a 2 time world champion. and he is still an overrated rookie.

he should have a nickname, "the Stoopid One" he just wants to get the attention of the lakers, because he wants to be a laker.

Who is this guy Cousins? I have never heard of him. Is he a NBA player? Is he a writer for ESPN? I know who Bynum is, he is the NBA player with TWO rings. He is the guy who played the entire post season on one wheel. He is the guy who had to have his knee drained twice so he could play. I know who Drew is.

I know we shouldn't pay attention, but this is just too funny. All they could talk about on draft day was the worries about his character issues. It appears he can't control himself. I'm sure this is light on the character scale though. We'll see what else follows. I don't know too much about him, but I guess he has massive talent.

That is how you get known in the league, by giving respect to all of your peers! Go Cousins! Yeah! You tell Bynum! You go and tell of the guy that pretty much risked his career by playing with his knee injury. You go tell off the guy with 2 championship rings! Go ahead, and keep talking trash on a guy who will play you 4 times a year and can destroy you in a game! Keep it up Cousins! KEEP IT UP! WAHOO!

Bynum deserves to touch the trophy more than anyone besides Kobe and Gasol. More than Artest you ask? Yes. Artest had one really big game and it happened to be the final one.. but Bynum definitely set the tone in games 1 and 2 for the Lakers. His presence and his dominance in game 1 changed the Celtics entire game plan. For dumb guy Cousins to say this ****... he just put a big target on his back. Now all the veteran big men are going to go at him so hard. As if it wasn't going to be hard for a rookie big man anyways. He's going to be a next Kenyon Martin at BEST.

Cousins just guaranteed that Bynum drops 25 and 12 on his @ss next time the Lakers play the Kings. Bynum is going to have Bosh vision when going against this rook.

Repped High Quality Post

You must be secretly trying to undermine Artest and get the Lakers to trade him to the Clippers! hehe (jk) Man.. here I was enjoying the day immensely until I saw that bit you wrote about Artest that I just can't let go. Silly me!

There's no need to diss Artest in order to compliment Bynum. I'm not gonna argue about it, but come on now, you saw the games! We would have been so lost in that series without RonRon. Wasn't that obvious? Artest is the one who set the defensive tone for the entire series. He looked screwed up offensively much of the time in Boston, but that was not his most important role. He never abandoned the tough defense.

Paul Pierce, as much as I don't like him, can be a monster load to handle in a postseason series for just about any team. He's an impossible cover for most teams. Artest turned him into nearly a non-factor throughout much of the series taking him on by himself. The only time he got going at all was when when someone else was on him or when the C's were setting multiple screens just to try to get the poor guy into any kind of rhythm at all. Even that threw their team off. Just check out the Celtics blogs if you need some perspective on who they thought the most important player of the series was for the Lakers. They have a lot of history with Artest and they know how effective he can be on Pierce. You underestimate the power of tough physical defense my friend. The dirty work is not much fun or very glamorous, but man is it ever huge.

I was proud of the way Bynum fought to be on the floor, and the effectiveness he was able to have. It was inspirational for the team, but his effectiveness and pt was severely limited for most of the series.

Artest was a no show in a couple games in the middle. Pierce wasn't getting stopped. You don't remember the games where Pierce constantly was beating Artest for easy scores? Bynum was out from a major injury so he gets the pass from me. It's a fact that Boston had to game plan for Bynum after he BLEW up in game one for what 23 and 15? Artest's heroic moment was in game 7... with a few big shots in the 4th. Maybe I shouldn't of flat out said Bynum was more valuable because that's just my opinion but.. Artest was by no means dominant in the series. Bynum was in the only game he logged huge minutes, game 1. As for the true MVP of the series it was CLEARLY Pau Gasol, no question. He was the most consistently good player on offense and defense.

Here's what i'm looking at right now.

Game 2: 1-10 shooting for 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and fouled out after 41 min.

Game 3: 1-4 for 2 points, 3 rebounds. Pierce scores 15.

Game 4: 4-10 for 9 points, 7 rebounds in 42 minutes! Pierce drops 19.

Game 5: 2-9 shooting for 7 points, 2 rebounds. Pierce drops 27.

Yes it's not super impressive but as someone who watched the entire series like you... I can honestly say it's fair to say in that middle stretch of the series Artest did very little. He didn't stop Pierce AND he didn't score or do anything significant. Sure he's important..... but lets not make it sound like he was fantastic all series.

Clips...I'm pretty sure I didn't try whatsoever to "make it sound like he was fantastic all series" as you put it. In fact I even mentioned how poor his offense was in the middle of the series. Not much of a need to spell that out. No disagreement. But his defense was just all the more important. You were the one who for some interesting reason tried to make it sound like he was terrible the whole series except for one game and I just countered with the reasons why Artest was so important in that series win over Boston.

If you don't think Artest's defense in that series was good on Pierce I really don't know how to help you understand it. Single man coverage on one of the better playoffs performers in the league.. keeping him out of rhythm nearly the whole series? I'll take that any ol' day we play the Celtics. His defense was one of the reasons we had the resources to set up our team defense to slow down Rondo. I'm a little surprised you don't see any of that, but no worries...just another difference of opinion.

CF, In re: Artest defense.

You have to put it into context to understand.

We used to have a lock-down bulldog All-Time great defensive ace, by the name of Radmanovic. He struck fear into the hearts of all League scorers, far and wide.

In 2008, he was the designated Pierce-stopper. We affectionately called Radmanovic, Space Balls. Well, Pierce said afterwards that a bowl of overcooked pasta would have put up more resistance against him, and while Space Balls was dreaming about sugar plum fairies, and the gingerbread men fashioned for him by the lovely tentacles of his girl friend, Awitutueee, back on his home planet Cephalopodia, Pierce proceeded to just ridiculize him on nationwide TV.

This year, Pierce was able to play his game only twice, the first game, and the fifth game. The rest of the time Artest was doing what Space Balls was incapable of doing, that is he was stuck to his butt like a barnacle. Pierce was out of rhythm almost the entire series, and his game, which is basically making upfakes, stepping in to penetrate, shooting or dishing off to people under the basket, and drawing cheap fouls, was largely mitigated by the physical defense of Artest. In 2008 Pierce dished off 6.3 assists/game; this year only 3.0 assists/game. In 2008 Pierce got to the line 8.93 FT/game; this year only 5.28 FT/game. He also had 2 less uncontested 3-point tries this year respect to 2008. Artest kept him out of his sweet spots, and fronted him constantly. He tired him out. Perhaps this does not show, but you better believe that Pierce knows the frustrations this time around respect to the daisy walk he had two years ago. Artest kept him, by and large, from expressing his normal game, and in a game of increments, this is a whole lot!
