Not a bad starty for Wafer in summer league. What 19 points. I know you will all say its just summer league. But like i posted before his stats in d league were tops. We gave up on him too quick i believe. We will all see later how he plays wth Denver this year. I predict he becomes a real good player. Lets see.

why are we still so attach to these guys: loran profit, von wafer.... WHO CARES!!!
i m not trying to be mean or anything, but they are nothing but interesting prospects!
if you think they are goign to be good, fine!
but heres the reality check: look at farmar, bynum and those guys.
those are guys that are WAY BETTER than wafer and profit as PROSPECT,
and they are not even regular players for us YET!
my point is... let it go... it is okay. |

yea c-nic, guys here just forget how trouble-some it was to see them collect 1-7fg, 0-5fg in summer league the previous two years... all they remember is the sparing spectacular plays HERE and THERE...

exactly sam. it should say something about him that he;s been in the NBA for like 4 years now and he's still in the summer leagues.

Lakers didn't make a mistake getting rid of this guy. The FO did something right for once. This guy came out way too early. Should of stayed in college and polished his game, but decided no, and look where he is now. So what if he's tops in D-League? There has always been a top player in the D-League, and do you see them blossoming into good players in the NBA, or even getting into the NBA? I don't think so. And I heard from the draft at that time that he has an attitude problem anyways. That probably didn't sit well with Phil.

Yup. That pretty much sums up Von Wafer. And he will (or at least should) always be known and remembered and laughed at for this piece of fried gold:

Hmmm. Another game where Von wafer is the leading scorer. Wafer scored 25 points this time on 11 of 19 shooting as the Nuggets beat the Pistons in SL action today. i know what you all say, but you watch, he is going to be a great fit for Denver. But what do i know, he sucks right. Its only summer league you all say, which is true, but he continues to lead his team in scoring and winning games. If im wrong im wrong, but you cant say that a player who had minimal playing time in the N.B.A and didnt do much must suck. Well i think with more playing time he could of been good for us, and we are going to think back one day and wonder why we let him go. Go on Von and keep on sucking it up. Lead the d league in scoring and come to the N.B.A. and lead your team in the summer league in scoring, and produce during the regular season, which you will, and wlaker fans will sit here and discuss how you are a sorry loser. Keep an eye on him, he will do more than you all think.

Ive been stating for a while that we didnt give Von a fair chance. Everybody who responded said hes a loser and that he sucks. Hes produced wherever hes gone, except the one year the lakers had him where he played a couple minutes here and there. Hes topps in the D-league and just after killing the Lakers with 22 points, he puts up 42 points against the Knicks today. Hes scored over 20 in every summer league game this year. If he gets playing time with Denver this year you all will be wishing he was back with us. Hes a very skilled player. There have been no responses since hes posted these numbers. Where is everybody?
