Last year during the exit meeting with Ariza, Phil told him to concentrate on this outside shooting. Ariza came into this season with a shiny new stroke. It made me wonder, if you were the GM or the coach; what would you suggest for certain players on the team to work on to improve there games.

Gasol- he has really stepped up during the playoffs with his defense. However, I would Like to see him add atleast 10 pounds of solid muscle. That would bring his rebounding averages up a little.

Bynum- Focus on cardio to get that endurance up. Seems like he gets tired after the 4 minute mark and start committing tired fouls. He also doesn't blaanced at times.

Kobe- Get some well deserved rest, and figure out a way to get that MJ fadeaway down pat. That will definetly add years to his career.

Ariza- ball handling, and keep improving that jumper more and more.

    Fisher- make lay ups.

Odom- stop eating the candy, and develop a more consistent outside shot. He has been great this series, but if he ever starts making those shots a little bit more. Its going to be scary.

    Great premise for a thread.

Although I wouldn't even include Fisher in the list; I think he's basically set in his ways. Difficult to teach an old dog new tricks.

Farmar - Work on your shot. Be an asset similar to Fisher, except with more speed and better skills around the rim.

Brown - Same as above, except spend time studying our offensive and defensive schemes. Don't even know if we're keeping him, but I hope we do.

Sasha - Settle down. I feel like he's a jittery player, and he's jittery this season because of all the expectations of him. I'm not giving him excuse for poor play, but if he would just calm down and let the shots come to him rather than force them, I think he'd be shooting at a much higher clip this year.

Bynum - Rest that knee. Do exercises underwater and build up some strength in your legs to bring back the explosiveness we see in January.

Everybody else is doing great for our team, including Walton. I'd rather focus on our role players than try to work on our stars and starters.

Bynum needs to watch video of all the games he is in foul trouble to understand the reasons/how he is getting into foul trouble, id also like him to work on defense not just post moves

Going into next season, I wouldn't be so concerned about Bynum and the constant foul trouble, guys. Bynum is clearly still not 100% and he is slower than usual on his reaction times. Remember, Bynum wasn't constantly in foul trouble every game before the knee injury, nor was he tired after a few consecutive minutes of play. These are new problems that surfaced as a result of returning from a very serious injury. If you remember Bynum played heavy minutes in many regular season games without looking very tired or picking up too many cheap fouls. He was basically the "go to guy" in overtime after Kobe fouled out against the Bobcats. At one point, we also saw Bynum go head to head with Tim Duncan and outplay him. This is what Bynum is capable of when he is 100% healthy.

I certainly understand that endurance and playing defense without fouling are things that you all feel he should focus on during the off-season, but I think he needs to keep working with Kareem and those other things will come along with health and training.

very intuitive thread Urkle. I like it.

    Lets see,

Bynum - defence, defence, defence. we already know what he can do offensively, let's see him work on his rebounding and defence. I'd rather see him pull down double figure rebounds night in, night out. And, he needs to be more aggresive when under the basket. throw it down like you mean it.

Pau - Actually has played pretty good defence on Howard this series, needs to be more consistent, not sure if adding muscle would help him that much.

Ariza - keep working on the jumper, passing.

Kobe - keep others involved. Excellent passer when he wants to be. drive to the basket more instead of taking near impossible jumpers.

    Fish - retire.

Lamar - work on his jumper - played some great defence at times this season.

Farmar - find a real estate agent

    Sasha - See Farmar's comments.

Shannon - work on ball handling skills, starting PG position available if he demonstrates he can do that.

Urkle, Kobe has that MJ fade away perfected. I don't know why u always bring it up. Those high-arcing fades Kobe hits are impossible to guard. The closest thing MJ did to it was the baseline fade away on Shawn Marion in 03 All Star game. Kobe even has a fadeaway from 3 even though he rarely takes and makes them now. He used to make those like once a game when he'd dribble, stop (around the 3), and just fall back. There's a reason they call Kobe the greatest mid-range player in NBA history.

Hey, just remember that move he put on Ronnie Brewer in the 1st round when he faked, faked, Ronnie didn't bite, and Kobe just jumped back and hit it.

Anyways, i'm most concerned with Andrew and our PG improvement, thats Jordan and Shannon. Oh ya, and Sasha better come back with a refreshed stroke next year.

Drew needs to keep working on stamina as some of you guys mentioned, and he needs to come back with a 100% knee. The left-to-right sliding that he was complaining about in the Rockets series is very important on defense. He needs to refine and retune his moves, getting quicker and not losing balance again like some of u mentioned. He travels way too much. And he needs to become a better rebounder. I don't know if his physical knee health is holding him back, but he better watch tape and do whatever necessary to start beasting the boards.

    Nice thread idea!

Jordan- work on your shot. If we can get his jumper/3 pointer more reliable, I think I'd feel more comfortable when he was on the court. Also, when you start making shots, don't feel like you always have to shoot. Remember to look for your teammates. and MAKE LAYUPS.

Sasha- Stop playing like the world is on your shoulders and just shoot. You know how, so just do it. Definitely over thinking your shot and it's showing.

Shannon- forget this pg nonsense, cus son you are not a pg. Work on that shot, do it ariza style baby! get your shot reliable, learn to drain three's and become the lake show's backup sg. we're all a little sick of sasha.

Ariza- work on ball handling so you can really become a slasher. Also, continue working on your shot.. It's looked flat lately, so try to remember to put arc on it.

Gasol- PLEASE don't add muscle. You won't be able to move so quickly on offensive if you do. Just learn to be tougher and give more effort defensively- don't need to bulk up to do that.

Drew- Let that knee heal and then trust it. Work on endurance, as some have said, and most importantly stop thinking offensive is all that matters.

LO- don't fall asleep on good shooters and make your shot more consistent.

Fish and Kobe don't need pointers. Fish will most likely retire soon, and Kobe is the best player in the world. If anybody wants to tell him what to work on, it should come from himself and his coach.

Sorry this is brief b/c there is certainly more, but:

Bynum: Work on passing out of the post. You don't have to shoot the ball every time you touch it. Also learn how to kick out and then re-post in a better position.
