I decided to make my comment a new thread because I'm getting tired of years of hearing Laker fans get all up in arms about the lack of respect Kobe gets and how D-Wade and Lebron gets all "The Love". So I've decided to answer that question.
First off, I don't know what part of "Rape Case" people aren't understanding. Colorado was the worst thing that's ever happen to Kobe, and no ones to blame but KOBE. People (especially Laker fans) seem to overlook this very fact. Because of Colorado, Kobe's had every major endorsement deal taken away from him. And the only way he can even "squeeze" out a commercial nowadays is to have the goofy guy with the goggles be the focal point of the commercial. You guys seem to keep missing all the things Kobe's done to ruin his own career. And I'm not talking basketball because we all know his brillance on the court. Secondly the Lebron & D-Wade factor. People seem to not understand why a guys can score 81 points and get overlooked but these dudes get all the hype. I can answer that in one phrase. They are Winners.
Here's the cold hearted truth of the matter. Nobody but laker fans care about the lack of competition those guys have faced en route to their success. At the end of the day all the media see's is a "Trouble free" D-Wade becoming a Champion & Finals MVP. And Lebron, a "trouble free" marketable player carrying his team to the NBA Finals at age 22. At the end of the day, Winning is all that matters. Do you really expect Kobe to get a bunch of magazine covers while he's sitting on his couch? No. Nobody cares about all the scoring records he broken this year. He's at home! In this world, Winning is all that matters. Remember, when Kobe was a champion, he had the world at his palm and was the NBA's darling child just like Lebron is now. And the only way he can get that back is to WIN!
Until then, the only phrases that'll be associated with Kobe whether you like it on not...(or whether their true or not...) are...
1. Arrogant
2. Selfish
3. Break up dynasty
4. Rapist
5. Ball Hog
6. Demands trade
7. Snitch
While all his fans will see is...
1. 3 time Champion
2. 81pts
3. 62pts (3 qtrs!)
4. Killer instinct
5. Streaks of 40pts
5. Streaks of 50pts
6. Game winning shots
Now please, can we just grasp this concept and understand why those other dudes are on their pedastal and accept it? Because like I said, it's never going to change until Kobe becomes a champion once again. So you just need to embrass this and use it for fuel just as Kobe does and try to take that spot back! |

Mark Kriegel the guy that wrote an article on how Kobe can learn from LeBron .. strikes yet again:
"According to the Los Angeles Times, Kobe Bryant is "widely acknowledged as the game's best player."
You have to understand, this is LA. Word of Tim Duncan hasn't reached these parts yet."
An excerpt from his latest greatest work. He now claims that no Kobe is not the best player in the NBA, instead Tim Duncan is. I can't stop laughing at this freakn article..
