Don't bash me, I'm just sharing what I saw. Here's the link. http://www.clublakers.com/forum/viewtop ... p;t=103566
It says this: (start quote)It was on the radio, and I'm just the messenger, so don't shoot me.
Anyways, Lakers and Warriors are/were in talks of sending Odom, Luke, Farmar to Golden State in exchange for Jackson/Harrington/Williams.
I don't know how credible this is. Again, this was from the radio. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard similar reports?(end quote)
I don't know about this. It was on the radio, so I doubt it serious talks. I don't think it's that bad of a trade, but I still wouldn't give up Farmar. I don't think it's a necessary deal either way. But, if it happened, I wouldn't be TOO ticked off. Personally, I would absolutely do this deal if we replaced Farmar with Radmanovic/Mihm/Sun. What about you guys? |

If this was actually on the radio yesterday, some sort of media outlet would've said SOMETHING....
This is fake. |

| Yeah, I would do the deal in a heartbeat if we switched Farmar and Mihm and if they kept Williams. |

| The more I think about this deal the more I grow to like it. First off, Stephen Jackson is an extremely versatile defender and can shoot the lights out. He can play the 2, 3, or even 4. The Lakers want a shooter and good defender at the 3, so who better than Jackson? Harrington will be filling the role that we lose in Odom. A versatile 6th man who has the potential to be a star. We're really not losing much, because Harington does what Lamar does, and then some. He rebounds, scores, defends, and even plays the 5. He can shoot the 3 ball, opposed to not with Lamar. Also I don't think anyone here cares that Luke would be leaving. The part that puts the deal on hold for me is the Farmar-for-Williams swap. Farmar has already proved himself as one of the better PG prospects in the league. Williams is known as a young project who has potential. Honestly, I'd just go through with it. Fisher isn't done just yet, and with the right coaching and mentoring for Marcus Williams can make him be what we lost in Farmar. Again, this is the only part of the deal that's not an upgrade, but the rest of the deal is just so good. |

| I'll pass on Stephen Jackson - no thanks. We have a solid team and I am down for adding more experienced bench players, but we do not need a guy like Jackson. I understand that he has improved his attitude while in Golden State, but we do not need that type of attitude on our team. |

Lets see what happens this year with the current team. The Lakers dont need to change anything.
If the Lakers want to do it though, I dont think it would be wise to include Farmar in the trade. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &cash=
To be realistic, I dont think the Warriors want to give up Jackson. |

Yea, thats what I was thinking about. Jackson is definitely an upgrade over Vlad Rad. Can be much more respected from the outside than Vlad aswell. He's currently getting 23.5 PPG, 4.2 Rebounds, and 5.7 assists as the Warrior's 1/2 option, adding 1.2 steals per game to the stat sheet. Harrington, of course would be a great 6th man to have, while we would still have Rad, Ariza, and Sasha in our second unit who use more of a fast-paced tempo which SJAX and Harrington are capable of from their years in GS. As for the Farmar-Williams part of the deal, I'm iffy, like any other Lakers fan. I remember in the '06 Draft, the Lakers really tried hard to get Marcus, but NJ took him. So we went with the next best thing. Farmar, fortunately has done great for us, and I would hate to see him go. GSW is in dire need of a PG and Farmar and Odom would flourish in Nellie's system. As for Luke...lol. The thing that worries me, is...do we really need to make any changes? We've been playing great - granted its against some teams that we SHOULD beat, but still. - This next few weeks should answer some questions for us as we go up against some of the NBA's elites. Also another question would be - Do Jackson and Harrington posses the desire and want for an NBA ring like Artest? Would Harrington accept his 6th man role? Would chemistry diminish or increase with these guys' attitudes. Jackson, has expressed that he wants a contract extension in GS and clearly wants more money.
It's a deal that can make or break us - like anyother trade in the NBA - but I do see a lot of pros in this deal on the Lakers' side.
However, its just a rumor, and clearly no one else heard it on the radio. We always love to hear trade rumors, but i doubt this one is ever going to happen. |

This is fake...just like the other Odom rumor.
If this was real, I would go with it but the Lakers have to EXCLUDE Farmar. |

| First things first, you rarely see trades between divisional rivals. and how is that trade going to make us better right now.... As much as you guys yap about Odom, the guy is an actual asset to the team. And farmar is a pending starter... Walton is a expensive insurance policy if any one of the SF goes down. we all know how injuries killed our progress the past couple of years. if it werent for injuries.. we would have won like 60 games.... |

| Well Genius if this rumor proves to be credible then obviously it's Mitch who's not satisfied. I specifically said I'm just reporting what I saw. |

You have to understand both sides of the deal. Why would they trade Harrington/Jackson for Odom/Luke? They wouldn't. The part of the deal that evens it out is the Farmar/Williams swap. Considering that Marcus Williams' deal expires this year, maybe this is where Sun Yue comes into play?
Anyway, there's still no reason to believe this is true. |

Hot Ziggety Dawg! I just heard it on the RADEEOH, a little purple flying saucer just landed in Central Park, according to two cocaine addicts interviewed after being arrested for lewd behavior. They both agreed that a small yellow strawberry with pink legs descended from the tiny saucer, and transformed into a turkey holding a little oboe. After playing a splendid rockabilly-jazz fusion rendition of "Ode to Billie Jo" performed using the power of intestinal flatulence, tragically, less than a minute later the turkey squawked once, and burst into flames through spontaneous combustion leaving a residual greenish ash forming a perfect likeness of "Puff the Magic Dragon".
During post-arrest interrogation the two confirmed that Odom was to be traded to Golden State - so, I guess it must be true! |
