| I want to know your guys opinions on which Laker will be the biggest surprise this season or create the biggest impact. I didn't add Andrew Bynum because we already know he is going to bring alot to the team this season. |

| I think that if Ariza stays healthy, he will be a huge factor and he'll come out this season with a consistent jumper! |

| I think Ariza is going to make a big impact, he was playing really well before he got injured. Even his minutes in the finals he played really good defense. I also think he is working on his outside shot. I expect him to come hard off the bench. |

true that, Trevor brings great energy, especially off the bench. If he gets a consistent jumper he will be great, off the bench or maybe even at the SF starter position. |

I can see why you guys are picking Ariza. I think he too will have a big impact off the bench with his defense and slashing. But I voted for Sun Yue because I think that the Lakers will be blowing out a lot of teams next season and that will give guys like Sun Yue a lot of garbage time to show his skills and I think that this kid will be a very interesting point guard at 6'9" and with PG skills.
With getting more time I think Phil will work him into the line up more until I think that he will replace Farmar as the backup PG. |

| I'm thinking it will be Farmar. I have a feeling his playmaking and confidence in his game will be a lot higher this upcoming season. |

Positive surprise - LUKE WALTON. That's a brave pick, I know...but people on this site have written him off as trash, I expect him to be somethiing like the '06-'07 Luke again.
Negative surprise - Andrew Bynum. Love the kid, he's a great talent for sure. But some people are already classifying him as a Top 3 center. Coming off of a knee surgery, I assumed that fans would lower their expectations, but it seems like they haven't. Not to say he'll have a poor season. He'll be good, but not GREAT. |

| I picked Odom because just imagine how many times other teams will be leaving Odom open, they will be double teaming Bynum, Gasol and Kobe of course all night long. There will be jumpers and open lanes for Odom all game long. |

I say Ariza and Farmar in a close second.
I wouldn´t be surprised if sasha has a big season, he´s not a scrub anymore, he is making 5+ million per year, better be a positive surprise.
In the other hand, Ariza will be playing his contract season, make no mistake, this is the "put up or shut up" season, if he worked on his jumper, add his natural athleticism, plus his solid defense, he could end being our version of BBowen.
Farmar again has a reason to improve, we put some pressure on him(yue). He has the opportunity to take the starting spot over an older fisher... |

I think Phil f*cked up with Ariza and he shoulda stuck him on Pierce and rode him to a Championship. That aside, my BIG PREDICTION:
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Josh Powell. He will average 10/7 in 18 minutes a game and will be the difference maker. |

Interesting choice Baadmaster, why not?! It would be great to see Josh turn into a productive piece of the benchmob immediately.
My personal choice for a surprise this season is Lamar Odom. As VS said, people on this site have written him off, and i think now that he does not have the pressure on him to be this and that but only the third or fourth option on offense he can be our difference maker. I see him play a kind of facilitator with the second squad and a SF with the first squad to just do what he has to do. Doing a little bit of everything. I think he´ll be more consistent and with the dirty work under the basket handled by our two real big men Lamar can do his thing and can be a 15-10-7 guy. I believe in him. |

| I don't think that Odom will be a surprise at all. I expect he will play great at the small forward so it won't be surprising at all if he plays great. I am totally against trading Odom. The biggest surprise will be Farmar. I see him improving at least as much as he did last season. I think Sun Yue could be a big surprise except he won't get a chance since Phil won't play him. |

I totally agree that Trevor should have been used more during the finals. He was doing great but inexplicably Phil chose to have Kobe guard Pierce and used Trevor less. It might have made a big difference on the outcome. So I'm picking Trevor to be the difference maker. |
