I just wanted to know if anyone else feels the way I do about the Laker players on offense. The one thing that has bothered me all season about the Lakers is that they can have a mismatch and will not exploit it. I don't know if that should be put on the coaches, or the players, or whoever. Too many times have I seen someone like Lamar have a player that he can post up, but he will never receive the ball. What I see instead is a Laker player will look at him in the post, try to get him the ball half heartedly and then swing the ball back around to run the offense again. I've seen Vlad be smoking hot, but instead of possibly running a play for him, or freeing him up with a screen or something, they start swinging the ball around and if he happens to get a shot then good, if not we'll still run he offense even if it freezes him out. Even when Gasol or Odom are the only starters on the floor with the rest of the enach mob, they seem to go long stretches withot even touching the ball. Is it me or has anyone else noticed this? Who is to blame for things like this, the coaches or the players on the floor not recognizing it?

Our guys aren´t enough aggressive, they lack that killing instinct, they won´t try to bully the opponent, even if they know that they can...

most of our players are passing first or mentally weak.....

CAZ: You have a slight point there. I was telling someone that my reason for the Lakers needing Artest is that he will try to impose his will like Kobe does. If he posts someone he wants the ball and demands it and takes advantage of the mismatches, I grew tired of watching Gasol and Odom looking for cutters and then passing the ball out to whoever, look to score on your man please.

yeah, that was the second reason why i wanted Artest to be a Lakers, being his defense the first, he brings toughness to the table, we really need that kind of player.....

You have to remember, Kobe and Fish are the only real experienced players with the Triangle. They are the ones that are able to read the defense and the openings that will be available for them. Although Lamar may have a few years experience, that's still not enough to be able to master it. Think of how many years Kobe and Fish had played in the system. It's pretty difficult to pick up.

Another reason why mismatches may not be exploited is that, although an improvement from previous years, Kobe seems to kill the offense. There have been multiple times that the ball stopped in Kobe's hands. Maybe it was Kobe's doing, or maybe the players are out of position, who knows.

Sometimes that is the problem with the triangle. Players get too caught up in the system and don't look for the obvious advantages. They are thinking swing the ball to the weak side, cut left, duck right, etc.
