Since Turiaf is gone, we need a backup C....
Anybody want them some KURT THOMAS?
I think he is the best backup C out there.
If not, then who comes to mind? |

| Turiaf wasn't a center, not in the slightest. He was playing out of position when he had to play center because of injuries. I think you're limiting our options by asking for a backup center. A power forward who is defensive minded and a hard worker would work for us as well. With the way our roster is constructed, we have Bynum, Mihm, and Mbenga who are all true centers. Then Pau, who is a true PF but has played a lot of center in his career, can slide in and play the center position from time to time as well. I would love to be able to sign Kurt Thomas, he would add a lot of depth. But I think Garbajosa would be just as good a signing, but for different reasons. It all depends how much confidence the front office has in Mbenga (assuming he is re-signed) and Mihm. I would have no problem acquiring someone like Garbajosa or another versatile power forward as long as we can retain Mbenga and Mihm is believed to be truly healthy going into next year. Therefore, I don't believe it is imperative that we sign a center at all. |

I won't object to kwame. It's not as if he's going to start, purely for backup purposes only. And we might get him cheap. Also, I believe in giving people another chance. Who knows, he might improve considerably. |

He would be booed unmercifully. It simply won;t work. I think Mihm, if heatlhy, is a pretty good backup. Or MBenga. |

| I don't know if we need a backup C With Mihm and possibly Mbenga, we need a PF much more. Kurt Thomas would fill that void, but I would like to see us take a shot at a young PF and develop him. Someone like Fazekas who is a project |

Lets face it, Mihm's good days are gone.
They clearly need a backup C.
Losing Turiaf definetly hurt |

| Mihm, Mbenga, and Gasol will all get minutes at the 5. We will use most of the MLE, if not all, on Sasha. There won't be any money to spend on a big man like Thomas. That's reality. |

*sigh*
No moves yet... we need to make our bench stronger now. Losing Turiaf hurt our 2nd unit.
Bonzi Wells anyone? |

| LOL. I wouldn't be too surprised if the Lakers tried to acquire a big man, but I think Kurt Thomas will be too much money for what's left over after Sasha, that's all. Kurt Thomas is going to go for the money because he's late in his career. He doesn't have much time left to make his last $$ before he retires. |

Yeah bout using the MLE on Sasha... Resigning Sasha has nothing to do with the MLE. MLE is exception for teams who are over the cap and want to sign a FA. But it's only around 5 million. So we can resign Sasha and then use the MLE on another player. |

In a perfect world, we sign Okafor and trade our scrubs for superstars and Mbenga averages 40, 20, and 10 blocks.
I would love to see Kurt in a Lakers uni. |
