Race to MVP
RAPTORS STILL ROLLING
The Toronto Raptors are still rolling. They are separating themselves from the rest of the league, as the league's best team. They are getting production from many different players: Chris Bosh, Allen Iverson, Emeka Okafor, Mario Chalmers, Andrea Bargani, and even Jie Zhang. This team looks like a very hard team to compete with. Can the Raptors be stopped? I guess, we just have to wait and see.
Now let's get to the MVP Rankings:
Highest Jump: OJ Mayo (+8 ), Dirk Nowitzki (+7), Jermaine O'Neal (+5),
Lowest Fall: Dwight Howard (-7), Derrick Rose (-5), Ben Gordon (-5)
1) Chris Bosh, Raptors | 23-7
PPG | 25.3
RPG | 12.1
APG | 3.1
SPG | 1.6
BPG | 2.7
FG%| .454
FT% | .879
Last Week: 1
Chris Bosh is a serious contender for the MVP Award. His team is just playing exceptionally, and so is Chris Bosh. Actually all of Bosh's numbers actually went up. He is stepping up his game, and if he continues to play like this, he will be the MVP.
2) Yao Ming, Rockets | 22-9
PPG | 29.7
RPG | 12.6
APG | 2.8
SPG | 0.8
BPG | 3.4
FG%| .486
FT% | .801
Last Week: 4
Yao Ming and the Rockets have been playing terrific basketball. This 7'6'' beast is playing in an incredible manner. Just looking at the numbers he produces, you see that he looks like he is unstoppable.
3) Gilbert Arenas, Clippers | 23-11
PPG | 28.4
RPG | 5.9
APG | 9.2
SPG | 1.4
BPG | 0.5
FG%| .437
FT% | .863
Last Week: 3
Gilbert Arenas is tearing it up. He is putting up MVP numbers again. He and the Clippers have been a consistently an elite team. If he and his team keeps this up, he has to have some serious consideration for the regular season MVP, again.
4) Tim Duncan, Spurs | 31-11
PPG | 24.8
RPG | 12.2
APG | 2.9
SPG | 1.3
BPG | 2.1
FG%| .481
FT% | .743
Last Week: 2
Even though Tim Duncan is in the latter stages of his career, he is still playing incredibly well. He is the leader of the best team in the tough Western Conference.
5) OJ Mayo, Bucks | 22-14
PPG | 25.4
RPG | 4.3
APG | 9.6
SPG | 1.1
BPG | 0.1
FG%| .462
FT% | .857
Last Week: 13
Wow, OJ Mayo and the Bucks have improved dramatically. His team went 9-1 in the last 10 games. This sophomore has the chance to become an MVP, if his team can keep on playing this way and overtake the Raptors as the best team in the East.
6) Lebron James, Blazers | 18-12
PPG |29.5
RPG | 9.0
APG | 4.8
SPG | 2.5
BPG | 0.6
FG%| .457
FT% | .796
Last Week: 7
What I find incredible about Lebron James is his rebounding. Nine Rebounds a game for a SF? That is unthinkable. He also puts up 30 points, 5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. He is playing like an MVP right now, but his team still needs to get a better record.
7) Jermaine O'Neal, Jazz | 18-12
PPG | 26.4
RPG | 13.3
APG | 2.3
SPG | 0.5
BPG | 1.8
FG%| .442
FT% | .755
Last Week: 12
Surprisingly, it is Jermaine O'neal playing like the MVP on the Jazz. He is putting up monster numbers. If he keeps this up, he might get some votes for the MVP.
8 ) Carmelo Anthony, Nuggets | 18-12
PPG | 32.8
RPG | 7.6
APG | 2.5
SPG | 1.5
BPG | 0.6
FG%| .520
FT% | .822
Last Week: 10
I guess the Nuggets have found their point guard, and they are playing well now. That is good news for Carmelo. Now he has the chance to move up, because of his incredible play and his team's improvement.
9)Andre Iguodala , Spurs | 18-12
PPG | 29.8
RPG | 5.3
APG | 4.1
SPG | 2.7
BPG | 0.2
FG%| .467
FT% | .876
Last Week: 6
Iggy has been incredible. No one expected a player this young, to be this talented. He is the the 2nd Leader on the Sizzling Spurs.
10) Derrick Rose , Kings | 16-13
PPG | 22.4
RPG | 5.4
APG | 10.6
SPG | 1.9
BPG | 0.3
FG%| .502
FT% | .759
Last Week: 5
Rose is only a sophomore, but he already is arguably one of the top point guards in the league. He is playing wonderfully, but his team had a lttle slip. If he wants to move back up, his team needs to try to get a higher seed.
On The Outside Looking In... (Season Stats)
11. Deron Williams (UTA 18-12) 23.4 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 9.2 APG(8 )
12. Kevin Martin (ANA 12-6) 28.3 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 2.6 APG (11)
13. Dirk Nowitzki ( NOH 18-14) 23.9 ppg, 12.3 RPG, 2.7 APG (NR)
14. Kevin Garnett ( BOS 20-16) 21.2 PPG, 12.9 RBG, 5.8 APG(16)
15. Paul Pierce (CHI 17-14) 25.6 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 2.9 APG (NR)
16. Dwight Howard ( ORL 17-16) 24.9 PPG, 13.8 RPG, 3.8 APG (9)
17. Al Jefferson (LAC 23 -11) 21.4 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 1.4 APG (17)
18. Allen Iverson (TOR 23-7) 27.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 5.0 APG (15)
19. Ben Gordon ( 22-9) 24.6 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 3.4 APG (14)
20. Jerryd Bayless ( MIA 17-17) 20.0 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 10.4 APG (NR)
Just Missed the Cut: Joe Johnson, Eric Gordon, DJ Augustine, Pau Gasol, Dwyane Wade |

umm... i dont know about these rankings.
i mean the Spurs have a better win percentage than the rest of the L (aside from the Dinos)
but we've also played more or less 10 extra games.
so Duncan at number 4, i dont know. |

Yea, actually, is being the MVP have to do with standings? Somewhat it does but it has to most do with the best players, on a contending team. So the Clippers and Rockets are contending teams, and their players have better numbers than Duncan. |
