| I think we will get back to the championship but im not sure we can win 70 games with the West being as good as it is. There are probably 10 or 11 teams in the west who could finish over .500 and 3 or 4 of those being in out own division |

In my opinion, the only team in our conference that have a chance of beating us are Houston, Utah, New Orleans, and maybe Portland. But I'm sure we'll still come out on top of any team in a series. |

I'm definitely more wary of the Houston Rockets.
I'm obviously very high on Artest; I was one of the guys here who wanted him for Odom, and with T-Mac and Yao (healthy-ish) backing him up, I think that they're gonna make a big run for the championship.
A Rockets-Lakers matchup in the WCF may be in the works. |

To paraphrase a financial addage, "No one has ever lost money betting against T-Mac in the playoffs." Houston, they got good strip bars. Lots of em; all better than L.A. But in basketball, Houston can't -- nor will they ever be able to -- shine our shoes.
The rest of the West is getting older and slower and we are getting longer and stronger -- with Bynum's return.
I will put my usual bet in Vegas for the Lakers to win it all. I will probably win this time. Too bad I won't get 25-1 on this planet! |

| Spurs are already toast as far as being a post-season threat - Ginobili will not ever fully recover. He wanted the Olympics and never gave his ankle the needed rest, now reinjured, and it will hobble him the entire season. Hope his Bronze Medal will keep him warm at night! Possibly his only hope is that the Spurs Front Office force Ginobili to take about four or five months off and then come back in acceptable shape near the end of the regular season - otherwise... |

well.... you have a valid point.... with out ginobili, they are far from being a threat....
but remeber... they signed a backup SG, if they can cut ginobili minutes, there is still a possibility for the spurs to make it healthy to the playoff.... |

| Yes, but they did not significantly reinforce their bench and stupidly resigned Finley. They need all three of their money players to be in top shape to realistically make any type of deep playoff run. We must also remember that even if they are all in good shape - they are still another year older and the regular season is a tough road to hoe even when young. |

they know how to play ball... They always find a way to be a threat... Ex: the Suns-Spurs first round series, Suns got Shaq, they finally had the inside presence to free Amare from guarding Duncan, but the Spurs still won the series. Same with Hornets, they were the younger and hungrier team.....
this team always finds the way to cause trouble..... |

He meant the 2007-2008 defending champs.. Now the Celtics are the defending champs when the season starts. |

Well, we're in the finals last year without Bynum. So it follows reason that with Bynum back we will not only return to the finals this season... we will it this time. |

| I'll only disregard the Spurs as a threat the day Tim Duncan retires. |
