we can go on and on and on about this. Whats the criteria? Rings... then bob cousey is the best guard of all time... he has 11 right along with russel i believe.... maybe 10.
It's time to let it rest.... You could put 100 knowlegable people in a room and have them rank "greatness" and get 100 different lists.
You simply have to let it go that many Kobe fans feel he is greater than MJ... So what? I personally dont have either in my top 3....
No hard feelings..
I agree with this. I am a big fan of both players, maybe a bigger fan of kobe because we get lesser games in the 90's here in the Philippines. I do not feel that one is greater than the other though. The only thing that bothers me here is that L wanted to end the comparison by comparing and simply saying that MJ is greater so lets just stop it. This will bring up more debates more than anything.
MJ was a freak during his era. He was a superman among mortals. Kobe is sandwiched by athletes who also learned from watching MJ. That is how I see it. For Kobe to emerge at the top of the list that is compared to MJ is greatness in itself. One can argue that MJ also had great players to contend with like Clyde, Barkley, Ewing, Malone, Payton, Mourning etc.....(sticking to the 90's where MJ won his rings) But let me ask you this. Don't you think Kobe with Pippen would have dominated them too? |
