I just got back from the game. Ariza and Farmar were really playing great. Ariza's defense was spectacular!
Farmar is really getting that swagger in his step. He was draining 3's in everyone's face.
Odom had one awesome play where he dribbled all the way down the court and dished it to Bynum for the slam - he's got the ballhandling of a guard for sure.
Bynum had a SWAT in the paint today also, many more in the future!
Rad was disappointing, he was taking bad shots early in the shotclock and then getting owned at the defensive end. Not good. He needs to stick to wide open 3's and stop taking ill-advised contested shots.
Kobe landed awkwardly after playing only a few minutes. he was out for the game, but he was walking around fine after and in no apparent pain - looks as if he'll be fine.
Walton was fumbling around with the rebounding a bit, but he was playing decent defense and making some good decisions. he drained a 3 - hopefully it's a sign of things to come.
Coby Karl is trash - get him off the court.
Crawford wasn't in for a long time, but when he was he looked pretty good. he was playing active defense and was involved in the offense.
Just glad to be back watching the Lakers in person. can't wait for Portland to visit!
GO LAKERS! |

| Our bench could be a starting five for more than half the teams in the league. Just look at who we got. Odom, Farmar and Ariza -- starters on most teams. Mihm -- starter for almost half the squads. Add in Sasha -- this is a solid NBA team in and of itself. Just wait til they play the opponents' second stringers. Can you spell "massacre"? |

I'd say Luke would be a solid off-the bench player for many teams, and even a starter for a few. |

| Trevor Ariza has been incredible. He definitely deserves respect for what he has done. Jordan Farmar and he are definitely our 2 best preseason players. Man, I love that duo: Farmar and Ariza. Then we can't forget Mr. Odom, who is a legit starter on every team in the NBA. Then we still got Sasha coming back, who I think will be in the top 5 in the three point field-goals. Lastly, we got Chris Mihm, who is playing very well. He is active and hitting his shots. Our 2nd Unit, is definitely exciting to watch. |

i think sasha should start, and move kobe to three. Radman's d isn't that good and his shot is inconsistent. Sasha will spread the floor better. Also the bench right now with farmar and ariza is playing very well and i think walton and radman should split time coming off the bench depending on who is playing better. If both are stinking it up, we can move odom to 3 and have powell come in at 4, this way we do not have to depend on radman or walton for production.
what do you guys think? |

At first, I thought I'd rather start Ariza over RadMan and leave Kobe at the 2. But after thinking about your idea, I like it better. Sasha is a better shooter, a very good defender, and with our size on defense Kobe doesn't have to worry too much about being backed down by bigger opposing SF's. Either way, get rid of RadMan, because his shooting isn't consistent enough to justifiy his lapses on defense and bonehead passes on offense. |

I don't expect Luke to be in top form until about a month into the regular season. He should be OK this year. We have to be a bit patient with him seeing as his surgery was not that far back and he still needs to reacquire the on-court instinctive mechanisms that comes with more minutes.
I have no expectations, of course, for my perennial whipping boy, Space Balls. I am certain that he will not surprise me and exceed my zero expectations of him. |
