| Im not saying that he will be able to cover every Sf in the league, but I remember at the beginning of the season when Odom thought he was gonna play SF but then Jackson switched him back PF he was kinda disappointed because he had to put weight back on and it would be harder on his knees. Odom currently weighs around 245-255 and if he plays SF he will drop to 223-230 and be much quicker. |

I don't remember that.....
He was switched back, because Ronny wasn't effective playing big minutes and Lamar wasn't making the open jumper, He went 0-6 from behind the arch in a single game.... Im not sure....but thats what i can remember....
Oh course, I forgot that we played horrible defensive rotation, we got torched by spurs(broke back montain game) and hornets.... |

| At the beginning of the season he weighted 240 I just assumed he put on weight as it went on, anyways what im saying is he will weigh 15-20 pounds less when he plays small forward |

| You got to remember that a lot of the new forumites are not Laker fans, but are going to post a lot about breaking up the big three in the Lakers. Bynum, Gasol and Odom. Lot of team owners are sweating next season when they think of the Lakers big three and how are they going to match the Lakers. I hope the Lakers experiment first with the big three before any trading goes on. Don't trade Lamar for sure. If anything trade one of the small forwards like Luke. Lot of teams like Luke because they say he is very cerebral???? |

| Thank you Axle. I remember when we got gasol everyone on here as so freakin excited and anticipating our big front court. And now because of one bad series against the best team in the league they are all screaming to ship him out. I don't agree with it. Even if his man does get by him off the dribble we still have two seven footer both with like 7'3" or 7'4" wingspans. Good luck getting to the rim. Also Odom shot well in LA and Miami before he got here so I think he will get his jumper back |

LAMAR NEEDS TO STAY A LAKER AT SF and its going to be very interesting watching him guard Pierce when he should have been at SF all along. THE WORLD IS IN ALOT OF TROUBLE WHEN THAT LAKER LINEUP IS AT FULL GEAR. |

why put the blame on odom in losing to the celtics. many of our players missed their shots. plus "the missing piece" = andrew bynum wasnt there. those who are putting the blame on odom are really not lakerfans. i smell bandwagon fans. lakers wont trade odom till they see how the team chemistry clicks with bynum. trust your players if you are a real laker fan. give them chances and time to be better. one series cant determine a player to be traded right away. nobody was complaining when we are winning. |

I would never put the blame on Odom, the blame goes on Phil for not having Odom guard P. pierce and many other obvious mistakes he made.......I remember when Gasol got traded everybody was all exited talking about Bynum_Gasol_Odom_Bryant....and how huge there going to be. Now that we lost if the finals(without bynum) everyone wants Odom out and Artest in. I honestly wanted Artest, J.O..etc last off season... but not anymore I really think that the Lakers are set for a championship in 09.
Odom will definitely work at SF. Offensively we all now what he can do with his great passing abilities, versatility, post....I imagine he's going to be working on his jump shot especially at the 3 this offseason. Now when it come to his defense sure he cant guard a Lebron James type of player but since we're getting bynum back our interior defense will be good enough to keep them out of the paint and force them to shoot from the perimeter and that were odom at 6-10 has the edge. So I see no reason to make ay changes.
edit -yea this is dripsta23 , I re registered and I know lakers fan from ny got me kicked |

| I remember an user that was talking about lamar playing at guard, I read something about that, phil is thinking about shifting lamar to guard and kobe to SF, but we may need kobe to gain some muscle first... |

Mitch said something abot having Lamar play SG and facilitate the offense more. I would to see him play point forward and bring the ball up the court.
Odom
Kobe
Sahsa/Ariza
Pau
Bynum |

He could play Rondo's role in the Boston offensive, facilitator and Playmaker, he stays on the perimeter, slash to the basket and kick it out.
if thats the case we can still sprea the floor with Kobe, vlade, shasha and fish. |

The good news is that there's only one "Labron James" type of player in the league and that's Labron James... and nobody can guard him anyway. |
