Rush is great, when he played for the lakers he was a young rookie, and his second year he starter playing good. THen we traded him to the bobcats when he became an stater and played very decent minutes. Then he had some troubles with his coach and went out and played overseas. That helped allot to his development, and this year eh payer great for indiana, with very good shooting and great D. I will really love to see him back in the purple and gold.
I think that Kwame will be back, but we need to trade mihm, or do something with his contract, but I don´t know know who I rather have in the backup, Kwame DJ or mihm.
All the others know the triangle, so they will be good additions, but I don´t think we need them |

| Here is a bold move: Odom, Luke, Farmar and Mihm to Miami for Marion and their Number 1 pick - Derrick Rose (assuming Bulls take Beasley). We become more versatile at the 3 and get a better defensive player. We get a dynamic young point guard that can learn under Fish and can really compete with the Parkers, Pauls, Williams of the West for years to come. The Heat would get a huge expiring contract in Lamar and can load up cap space for the huge 2010 free agent derby. I think we could play great on both sides of the ball with Rose - Kobe - Marion - Gasol - Bynum starting and Sasha, Vlad, Ariza, Ronny and Fish providing a high energy, sharp shooting and effective bench. |

Here's another idea I was thinking about. Again, trades that I think about are realistic trades based on free agency, financial considerations, as well as what I hear and read other teams in the NBA are looking to do.
Here's my thought:
1. Trade Gasol to Detroit for Rasheed Wallace (Detroit has said repeatedly they they are looking to shake things up and Rasheed in on the market)
2. Trade Lamar Odom and Vlad Rad to New Jersey for Richard Jefferson and Stromile Swift (Swift is a free agent and New Jersey is looking to rebuild by using Jefferson as a piece. Odom's contract would be fantastic for them and he would be returning home to the east coast which I think he would love. Swift would be a sign and trade).
The Rasheed move is a great move for two reasons. By getting Rasheed the Lakers get a much tougher inside presence than Gasol. Sheed also opens up the floor with his outside shooting and his offensive numbers are similar to Gasol. Second, if it doesn't work out, the Lakers are only on the hook with him for one season at 13 mil compared to Gasol's three seasons at 15,16,17 mil a year respectively.
The Richard Jefferson move answers our desperate need for a scoring small forward who plays tough defense. His game will open up the floor also and create more room for Kobe to operate. Plus we will have a fantastic defender for guys like Pierce. Swift is the added bonus here. New Jersey is going to loose him to free agency and they might as well get something for him. Swift would be a fantastic, athletic big man who could back up Bynum.
FISH
KOBE
JEFFERSON
RASHEED
BYNUM
FARMAR
SASHA
ARIZA/WALTON
TURIAF
SWIFT
I really feel this move answers ALL of the Lakers problems both in defensive toughness and in offense. PLUS, there is the added bonus of financial flexibility for the future. I know this is a tough move for those who love Gasol (including me), but I really do think Rasheed would give us that toughness we so desperately need. And the interesting thing is, it is a deal that could actually happen!
Thoughts? |

| I'm on the fence with that move. I love the idea of RJ who can shoot and slash, I like the idea of Swift getting some minutes off the bench. I'm just not too sure about Wallace, I guess he could fit in well with Bynum posting low, but I'm not too fomd of bigs faling in love with threes unless they have the firts name of Dirk. |

| If Buss is trying to stay somewhere near the salary cap Jefferson is a horrible option he has 4 years 12+ million peryear left on his contract |

Yeah, but Gasol's and Odom's contracts are even larger. This move actually saves money. |

Your retarded it saves us 2 million next year but costs us much more in the long run. 09.10 Jefferson, Kobe and Pau alone would be 53 million and 56 million in 10/11. Were trading odom to get otu of financial trouble not create a worse one |

| Why would we trade Pau when we haven't seen him play with Bynum yet? Sorry, but anymore Pau trade rumors should be disregarded. |

Dude, first of all watch it with the insults. And second of all if you would have read the topic of this post you would know what we were talking about.
Odom and Vlad Rad together = $20 Mil next year outgoing
Gasol = 15 next year outgoing (16 and 17 mil the years after)
= 35 Million outgoing next season
Jefferson = 13 mil next year incoming (14 and 15 years after)
Rasheed = 13 Million next year incoming
Swift = 5 Million incoming (from sign and trade)
= 31 Million incoming next season which is a savings of 4 mil not 2.
Rasheed is still a fantastic force but is a little older now. The Lakers play him next season and then sign him for much less the year after, say in the 7-8 Million range if he wants to stay in LA and compete for another championship. There is your savings.
I would rather use the piece of Lamar for Jefferson NOW and use the expiring contract of Rasheed over Odom's next year. It would be much easier to negotiate with an older Rasheed. By doing this, we will have used Lamar's contract more effectively and picked up an all star small forward in Jefferson and all star power forward with more toughness in Wallace. |

| How about we just make some simple trades here and there to "tweak" our roster, not blow it up. A simple trade could be for Lamar, but nothing to complex, we're a championship team. Why trade everyone? |

| I think Ron Artest is the best fit for right now. We don't need a BIG trade because it'll take time for them to get used to being coached under PJ. |

Pau for Wallace?!
One of the dumbest things I've heard of. Another team cancer. 1 potential team cancer (Kobe) is enough. Anymore stars with huge egos will scream of dysfunctional.
I'm with the folks who are salivating to see Pau play along Bynum. I for one think they will complement each other quite nicely.
And why the hell would NJ want Radman's contract?! So they can NOT bid on King James?!
Please spare me the caps in the title name. Neither of these makes sense.
I would personally rather use LO's exp contract towards Bynum's extension.
We just made the freaking FINALS and people want to make drastic changes. I just don't get it. |
