| I think Odom's game over-all is at least equivalent to some of these other guys I am going to list, but there are some good candidates this year that I think can help us in different ways and the FO should take into consideration. I for one think we need a well-known shooter to support Kobe, someone that can open up the floor a lot more. Vlad is inconsistent and he can not live up to this role. Free agents like Antawn Jamison and Shawn Marion, heck even Ron Artest could very well be open for grabs if we pursuit them. Both are great shooters and can spread the floor. Odom doesn't shoot often and usually ends up slashing to the basket. I don't think we should get all our points off the paint though. A good defense would predetermine this and adjust accordingly. Pau Gasol and Bynum if on the floor at the same time, could have the interior offense set up to go between the two of them. With Pau and Bynum on the floor, two long 7'0"s with a lot of talent, we don't need any more inside presence. Kobe is doing a fine job facilitating and I dont see why Odom should be doing the same. But that is just our offense...Odom does a fine job defensively, but I think we know somone available thats better. Im sure PJ can tame Artest, he hasn't been having problems lately anyways, has he? He WANTS to be a Laker....its right there. We have the advantage of being a team highly looked on, we got to the NBA Finals, we have a great future. Players WANT to be on the Lakers. Its sunny southern California.....Im just hoping Kupchak takes out his magic wand and gives the Lakers some more Disney magic..... |

| The pistons would be much better off doing whatever they can to make changes, and at the same time, not acquiring that cancer. Carmelo isn't even a superstar. He's a good player, but he's nowhere near the level of CP3, LeBron, Kobe, Dwight. Those guys are the definition of superstars. So the pistons will be shaking up their whole roster for a good player, who in my mind is overrated, and when he isn't crying about not getting enough shots, he is getting wasted while driving on I-25, or getting his a** kicked in bar fights. Such a disgrace to Air Jordan. |

| i would love to keep lamar and get like ron artest, shawn marion (doubt heat will let him go) tayshaun prince is a possibility, etc. This would move lamar to a sixth man spot and give our bench much more depth and he would be probably the best sixth man in the league (except for ginobli) |

shawn marion would be absolutely great in the 3 spot. he is an awesome perimeter defender and we know he knock down the spot up 3.
my only concern with him would be team chemistry. would he accept his role on this laker team? |

I completely agree with you about that punk called Melo, I can't believe how many people hates kobe, when kobe is a workoholic.
but sadly the pistons seems to have an eye on him..... |

My plan is to sign Ron Artest with the MLE. Sign and trade Odom with Luke for Baron Davis
Davis
Bryant
Artest
Gasol
Bynum
Am I dreaming? |

Pau for Wallace?!
One of the dumbest things I've heard of. Another team cancer. 1 potential team cancer (Kobe) is enough. Anymore stars with huge egos will scream of dysfunctional.
I'm with the folks who are salivating to see Pau play along Bynum. I for one think they will complement each other quite nicely.
And why the hell would NJ want Radman's contract?! So they can NOT bid on King James?!
Please spare me the caps in the title name. Neither of these makes sense.
I would personally rather use LO's exp contract towards Bynum's extension.
We just made the freaking FINALS and people want to make drastic changes. I just don't get it.
You would rather use Lamar's expiring contract towards Bynum's extension and get nothing back? With all due respect I find that to be incredibly stupid.
By moving Pau to Detroit for Wallace, you pick up another strong power forward who is no less a cancer than Ron Artest who everyone seems to be talking about. Pau's numbers are better slightly better offensively, granted, but Wallace is much much tougher defensively. Jefferson would pick up that offensive slack. Plus after next season you could re-negotiate with Wallace to take less money which could be used towards Bynum.
By moving Lamar to NJ for Jefferson, NJ could use his expiring contract after next season to go after LeBron.
I agree that the sticking point is Vlad. But with Swift bolting for free agency, it might be worth a shot to see if he could be included in the deal. |

Oops. You lost me right there.
13/6.5/2 is what we get and 17/10/4 is what we give up?
You're not even really a Laker fan, are you? You're trying to tank the team...
Ha! You're funny. No, this was my suggestion to make the Lakers more tough defensively, which is what we need the most. What we give up offensively with Pau, we gain in defense from Wallace. Jefferson would pick up the numbers offensively. Plus Wallace's expiring contract could help the Lakers sign other players down the road.
It's just my opinion. It's cool to disagree. But I do think the Odom - Jefferson trade is a great one regardless. |

hmmm forget the trades what about free agents there are some that could make are team tough. here is a few names
Paul Millsap
Bonzi Wells
Brian Skinner
Kurt Thomas
Michael Finley
James Posey
Eduardo Najera
Mickael Pietrus
Matt Barnes
Kwame Brown
these are some players that can do the dirty work. and we can do some small trades like get rid of luke and vlad rad. let sasha go move ariza to the 2 behind kobe. so that gives ariza more pt. make a trade for Reggie Evans from the 76ers.
look at this line up if we want to play dirty and start pushing ppl
kobe
ariza
posey
Evans
bynum
now thats players who play D and there not soft. u have 3 point shooting with posey, kobe, and ariza u have rebounds with evans and bynum. what do u guys think? |

| I think getting rid of vlad and luke would be good and re signing ronny and sasha would be good as well as signing posey. Posey is a knock down 3 point shooter and a good perimeter defender which is what we need. But we don't wanna mess up all this chemistry by getting reggie evans or someone like that. I think if we can get a good rebounder off the bench in the draft or free agency we would be set. And plus if ariza improves he could be really good. |

| my opinion: sign and trade odom for danny granger. 6'9 small forward than can bring 'it' at both ends. pretty consistent 3pt shooter at 40%,85% on the charity strike and an underrated defender and rebounder. I bet indiana would offer him a semi-big contract. we can sign odom for 9m if he agrees and just a little + for indiana and they would definitely think about it. BUT, If artest wants the MLE to be a laker. He is definitely to be reckoned with but i'm really worried about his attitude coz it might mess up the team chemistry we have. so i would rather have granger. And the other thing is i would like to just get rid of luke & vlad for something like desagana diop. any backup C that can hang and bang with perkins/eddie curry type of players. a backup C that's not invisible in the offensive end. Many posters bring up Kwame's name and i wouldnt mind to have him as a backup center but i prefer Diop than Kwame. That way if we face the celtics again or any physical team we wouldnt be crying for defense and rebounding anymore. It would be a different story even if bynum's resting on the bench. It would be pretty interesting. And, if we trade luke and vlad i think that'll cover us a little bit on the salary cap. If mitch was able to trade kwame++ for gasol, i bet he can trade luke & vlad too. Few changes, no more weaknesses. |

| KEeping odom would be better too, a sign and trade for less than his previous contract. And plus if sasha wants the MLE because we all know sasha wants more money because of what he brings in the game. THe hard nosed defense and cold blooded 3 point shots. I would rather stick with the team we have. Just trade Luke and Vlad for Diop would be more preferable. |

| that's luke and vlad's contract and diop will have output and feedback for what the salary defines. For 10 mil a year for DIop? Gee I change my mind already. Just court and sign for Kurt THomas instead.. |
