Instead of going after a big name free agent, doing a sign and trade, or trading LO, why not go after DeSanga Diop? He made 2.2 million last year and is an unrestricted FA. We will lose Chris Mihm's 2.5 million contract. He is an excellent defender/shot blocker and will fill the need for a strong post presence.
Bynum/Diop
Gasol/Odom/Turiaf- Odom might not be quick enough for the 3
Ariza/Radmonovic/Walton
Bryant/Vujacic
Farmar/Fisher
In my opinion, this is all the Lakers need. It would give Bynum a little bit more rest, and do away with Gasol having to play the 5 on a regular basis. Is this a possibily? |

| Why would anyone want Mihm over Diop? Expiring money I suppose. Diop would really sure up our defensive woes. Do you have Odom coming off of the bench? |

| Mihm has a PLAYER option. He's coming back next year whether the Lakers want him or not. |

| Use some MLE on Diop. i don't see a need to bring in a high dollar guy this year. It would be a nice headline, but it could hurt us down the road. Oh yeah, Diop has acceptional speed for a big guy. |

| I think our MLE is probably going to Vujacic. |

| The MLE can only go to one player. |

| our MLE is something else.. We can sign him for the MLE type of money which is about 6 million but that's a lot. I say we re-sign him for a 3 year, 9 million dollar deal. |

Resign Sasha, Turiaf. Trade Odom for Marion. Sign Diop MLE.
Bynum-Diop
Gasol-Turiaf
Marion-Ariza-Radmonovic
Bryant-Vujacic
Farmar-Fisher...Is this possible? |

It's possible if Sasha and Turiaf are willing to be underpaid.
Where did Walton and Mihm go? You need at least 12 players to start a season. |

| I just didnt include them they wouldn't be in very regularly with this rotation would they??? vujacic and turiaf are RFA's they would get underpaid all that much would they? Walton could be dumped on MIA if the Odom trade went down. |

| Why would Miami want Luke? Vujacic's game three performance basically earned him huge money but on the flipside Ronny's value has probably taken a huge hit by his awful playoff performance. |

| Marion is cap space himself, he could opt out this year if he wanted to. |

first of all guys, we arent using our mle to sign sasha. we dont have to. he is our free agent and we can sign him to any amount of money. the mle is used for teams that are over the cap that are trying to sign another teams free agent. thearetically speaking, we can sign him to a max contract if we wanted.
now as far as turiaf goes, im just curious, why is everyone so in love with this guy for? i think he just proved in this postseason that he really isnt that talented or he's just plain lazy. ive never seen a player with his size and so- called energy that cant rebound. its not like he's playing great defense either, and he sure as hell isnt helping us offensively either. i keep hearing how this guy has great heart, but im still waiting to see it. i say screw him and hopefully some team offers him a couple mil a year and we dont match. the only thing this guy does well is waving a towel and jumping up and down dancing with that stupid smile on his face. im really sick of that guy. i can honestly say that i know what other teams fans mean when they say that he has to be one of the most irritating players in the league that is basically talentless. i guess we all know why he was a second round pick for. we can get just about anyone in this league to replace him. i definitely wouldnt overspend to keep that baffoon. |
