Come on Laker fans lets all man up and admit Ron Artest is exactly what the doctor ordered. Scoring, rebounding,an intimidator and he clogs up the middle. Something we have not gotten and will never get from the likes of Lamar, Luke Or Pau. Just remenber if Phil can make Dennis Rodman see the big picture for the Bulls. He can definitely make Artest who despite his antics is a "true Warrior" see the trophy at the end of the tunnel. I know we all think Bynum is the answer to all our problems but lets be honest, he aint exactly the tuffest guy on the block either.
So we're not "manning up" if we don't agree with you? Way to be incredibly arrogant and condescending on your 3rd post. Nice job, way to alienate just about the entire LTB membership before you even get started. You need to change your attitude and approach if your going to get the vets on this site to respect and listen to you. Lots of knowledgable fans here. Posts like this will get you run out of here fast. |

And jbully314 will be the one to personally run you out.
Anyway, I was a fan of the Ron Artest trade before the Pau Gasol trade, but the more I think about it, his personality just doesn't fit on ours. I can imagine him saying racist comments to Pau and Sasha. Although that seems trivial, that'd kill the spirit in the locker room. Someone like Shane Battier would've been great; solid defender, classy guy, very humble personality, not to mention shoots 3s like a sniper rifle. I wouldn't mind entertaining the idea of getting Tayshaun Prince as well; I watched him play at the FIBA Americas and he gave out a great impression, as far as being a very laid back type of character. Maybe Kobe can do some scouting this summer on the Olympic team. |

| Are u serious? As a Laker fan and out of respect for the site I will apologize for the "MAN UP" comment but I sincerely hope that we can all take deep breath and think logically. One should never allow his heart to overule his mind. As for the "run out of here" comment LMAO. With all do respect, so what's ur opinion of Ron Artest as a Laker? |

I made a comment a few minutes ago, right before your first comment on this thread...
We've had a lot of knuckleheads coming into the site lately. I get a little defensive when someone comes in and is very aggressive toward the membership on their first post. I may have overreacted on yours. Frustration is running a bit high right now, you know? Forgive me...Welcome to the site. |

| I assure u JBULLY that my fanhhod is true and respect u totally for your apology. Apology accepted and I will pay closer attention to my comments next time. I like yourself am a bit on edge after last nights game and am working with a short fuse. Hopefully like you and I may the Laker players themselves share the same heartache from last nights game. hopefully they will take their disappointment and turn into a passion that will win the next 3 games. If not let us regroup evaluate our situation and make the necessary adjustments. |

To be realistic, I don't think we are going to come back and win this thing. It's too big a hole against a team of this caliber. The big thing is this: Win game 5 and don't let them celebrate on our home floor. This team needs to show some pride and get out of LA with a win. Once that happens, I think that winning 2 in Boston is all but impossible. But pride needs to kick in and get this series out of LA.
That being said, I've never been one to count Kobe completely out. Even though the chances of a comeback are slim, it's not over until it's over. If we can get game 5, I'll be much happier. Then game 6 turns into a complete balls to the wall assault on the Celtics own pride, and if we can steal that one, who knows in a game 7? Wishful thinking I know.
The one thing I keep thinking about is the 2004 RedSox-Yankees series. Boston fans know hopeless comebacks all too well. Dan Patrick says that the RedSox were congratulating Yankee players after game 3 when they fell behind 3 games to none. We all know how that ended. So although it is very far fetched, there is a slight glimmer of hope. Just don't bet the farm that it's going to happen. |

| No, NO, and H*** NO to Artest. Ariza is only 22 and he is already showing signs of becoming a great defender. I want him anchoring our defense at the 3. We don't need a head case selfish scorer like Artest. Take a page out of the Spurs book. Make little moves and keep your core intact. We will be a great team with Bynum anchoring the middle, Gasol returning to his natural PF position. |

but we've got to admit; odom is not a core piece.
i don't know what we should do with odom; i wouldn't mind having him come off the bench, but that could potentially throw him off (he "needs rhythm", as he said himself).
SHRUGS! i'm all distraught. |

Why is everyone so fixated on Artest being the solution? When in reality i just dont see a deal that would make the Kings strike such a deal with their nemesis. Also if a deal were to be made we would have to take a few of their scrubs. And we all now that we already have one to many of those.
I may be critical with obtaining Artest because I believe that Shawn Marion would be a better fit with less risk. If Riley still has the same feelings about Odom, I hope this would be a route that the Lakers look into. Other than that i would have to pass on Artest. |
