| That is Horry's opinion, and all you get to do is respect it. But in my opinion, rings will classify a a great coach. Phil has nine, while Pop has 4. So it is clear to me that Phil is the superior coach, but in terms of liking a coach, it depends on the player. To me, Phil is the best coach in terms of being successful since he is tied for the most championships ever. |

| They are both great coaches - but Phil has 9 rings - come on Robert. And yelling at people I don't think makes someone a good coach. |

First off, Robert has digressed as a quality person. The way he took out Nash last year, the way he drew four really hard fouls tonight in the Hornets game. He has turned from deep threat 3 ball shooter, to hired thug. But the Spurs need toughness and Horry is the type of guy to fill a void too.
Problem is, Robert isn't a Laker anymore, he's a Spur. Not a Rocket, a Spur. If I had to rank my top 5 coaches they would go as follows:
Coack K
Pat Riley
Byron Scott
Phil Jackson
Greg Popovich
honorable mention to Stan Van Gundy who keeps impressing each year. |

| I would say POP is great too if he were my coach. He is damn scary looking. I wouldn't want to pissed him off. He is one ugly son of a b****. Phil is the man hands down, you have to be on another level to listen to Phil. He does not coach with Fear. He is the enlighten Budda. |

You have to respect Horry's opinion, he's been there plenty of times. That's his opinion, we don't have to hate him for it.
I honestly think that PJax is the best coach ever because he is just so blatantly obvious with things and he is very interesting to listen to. He is the type of person that attracts people to him because of his public speaking abilitites. I'll never forget that game we lost at San Antonio, where after the game he said "We call it a Brokeback Mountain game because there's so much kicking and penetration"!!! LOL!!!!!! |

| Horry is doing the right thing - he's repping for his current coach. Results determine the true greatness of a coach or a team. Phil is top three greatest coaches of all time, and the Lakers are the #1 team of all time. |

| I wonder how good of a coach Pop would be if he were coaching the Clippers. A lot of coaches can coach a great roster. Now ask yourself who would be the best coach to take the Clips to the next level. Who could get the job done. PJ would have the patience. I'm not sure Pop would. But he is a great coach. |

I lot of people believe Pop is the best coach in the NBA, that's fine. I always find it hard to evaluate how good a coach is, becuase like Robert said the players are different.
Pop could have very easily won 10 rings with the personnel Phil has been blessed to have, we'll never know. |

I think Pop is a good coach. I don’t want to give him any kind of due because he is a Spurs coach. But, I really don’t think the Spurs are all that great. I think the real reason they have won four championships is Popovich. Parker and Manu are very good, but I think Duncan is overrated. Maybe if the Spurs had a decent center, then Duncan can go back to center and maybe I’ll change my mind.
With that being said, I’ll still take Jackson over Popovich. As far as ranking Pop in the top five coaches, I’m not sure if I would put him that high. No knock on him, but there has been some great coaches in the NBA. If you meant top five in the game today, then yes I would say he is.
Of course Horry would say what he said because like it was pointed out, he is a Spur now. I don’t think Horry has changed, we just saw him with rose colored glasses while he was here. It’s that kind of intensity that “made” him a good player. I use it in the past tense because his skills are gone. I don’t see him hanging around anymore if the Spurs don’t go back to the finals soon.
Robert will retire with some nice piece of jewelry. |

If Horry thinks Popovich is a great coach because he yells at everybody? I would say that he does not have any class if he yells at people. You can talk to a person with a soft voice, and still get good results. I never did care for leaders that try and put fear on a person by yelling.
As far as who is actually the better coach is shown only if he has average players to start and molds them into a championship contender. Both Popovich and Phil have had some pretty good players. |

Robert Horry has always been one of my favorite players so I will respect his opinion, But i bet you he wont say that when he's retired.
p.s. and i know this is random but I dont think pat riley is really that great of a coach, or person.
he won 4 championships with a team that was already winning championships,
later, he put together a championship level miami heat team, but made a great coach( s. van gundy) "retire" so that he could get the glory
then when the heat are bad... he quits!! hmm
and how come Van Gundy Became an heat assistant, (then magic coach) the season after he "retired".... riley is a snake! thanks for the good years, but i think we wouldve been fine without ya!
