Like Sir Charles always says several times throughout a broadcast, "first of all" can TNT dump Doug Collins for, oh I don't know, say a blowup doll? The guy is useless and a waste of valuable air. He spews the same old crap during every game and you know what he is going to say before he says it.
Anyway, enough of that...
First of all, I thought our D was lousy tonight during several points in the game. And it almost goes without saying that we simply had way too many turnovers tonight.
Jordan Farmar finally came out of retirement to provide some decent, albeit not great minutes. Vladrad had a decent game too, but he forgot to defend a few times. Luke played awful again. Oh and Sasha was off tonight.
Kobe and Fisher played well. Odom and Gasol had great games.
So now how do we go beat them in their house and finish this thing off in Game 6?
First of all, I'd like to see more fluid ball movement. The pressure will be on Utah so I don't see this being an issue. I'd like to see us at least an attempt on D too.
My prediction: if our bench shows up for Game 6 (and no silly flagrant 2 fouls are called), we should be able to handle them at home, regardless of how immature their fans are.
Thoughts? |

I think you have it. Charles Barkley picked the winner of this series to win it all and I agree. The Lakers played well, and they can play better.
Just a couple of thoughts. They need to come out shooting and making their shots and try to get the Jazz to play from behind all night. Up the tempo a bit. Lakers score well in transition.
I thought ball movement was good, with everyone scoring in double figures. More of that, obviously. Now that they've seen Kobe take only 10 shots and 15 free throws, they might not play him quite so tight. If he's healthy enough, he'll have to score just a bit more to keep them distracted. Sasha and Radmanovich, needs to hit the threes!
Keep focus on preventing guard penetration and continue the aggressive rebounding.
I love it when Pau leaks out and gets ahead of the defense for easy layups! |
