Ahhhh summer is just near the corner and the Lakers are currently up 3-0 in the first round. Remember summer days last year where we were getting wet off of Jermaine Oneal? How from one day it seemed like we were giving up the trashy and inconsistent Lamar and the young and not ready Andrew Bynum to a great power forward in JO? And now? Well now we're sitting back and watching the Lakers rip the first round opponents, a feat that went above and beyond the expectations of the Lakers from the media. In the summer, we were scared to death because Kobe was headed out of L.A. We were cussing and finding all the cruel words we could to use on Mitch Kupchak (Best known nickname for him was Cupcake). It seemed that everything was going the wrong way and wouldn't even be in the playoff picture. We were also bashing our players like Lamar, and Kwame. Most of us even regretted the trade that made us give up Butler.
Fisher then signed with the Lakers. This was a sigh of relief to some fans, because we knew that Fisher's presence in L.A would relax Kobe's frustrations with the F.O. We still wanted Jermaine Oneal but Bird wanted both Bynum and Lamar. To some, it would be a great move. Then in the middle of the season, we miraculously landed Gasol and we were thrown into the mix of contention.
I call this a God given gift. Going from espn trading machines to see how we can land J.O to watching us tear apart the Nuggets and having an amazing 57-25 record in the regular season. Wow. |

This season had everything an exciting year should have....it went from bad team chemistry and trade demands...then a great start...then injuries....then a blockbuster trade...and then the number 1 seed.
You gotta love it! |

| I told since the start that Pau would be landing to LA! And I have always thought that JO was a badfit for us. |

I was actually a lover of J.O. I didn't hate Pau but I just thought that he was softer. But what I didn't know was how great of a passer he is. Where would we be if we landed J.O for Bynum and Lamar? Would we be begging Tyler Hansbrough to declare for the NBA draft so we can get him in a single digit pick? =/ |

How about the offer for KG...the Lakers were going to give up Odom, Bynum, a couple picks, and some fillers...I believe Evans & Farmar were in the deal as the fillers...I was kinda skeptical on the deal, but still wanted it to go through...I also remember there were some people here who wanted Gasol...I wanted the Lakers to trade Brown & Bynum for Gasol, whooo, luckily they didn't, luckily they only traded Brown and now the Lakers still have Bynum...
Last year, after four games, the Lakers were down 3-1...this year the Lakers have a chance to sweep the Denver Nuggets...what a year can do...it can make a GM look like a genius...it can get a superstar his first ever MVP(hopefully)...it can be the start of a future Hall of Famer, known as Andrew Bynum...and most importantly, it can restore order and bring the Championship back to where it belongs, back to your Los Angeles Lakers... |

Words can't describe the type of season we've had.
First we were all bashing Mitch and lobbying for JO and KG. Then he goes and drafts Critt and two international prospects in Yue and M. Gasol while Boston picks up Ray Allen and later on KG. At this point we're all goin crazy and saying that Mitch HAS to do something now. Nothing happens. Then Kobe comes out and says he wants to be traded. Now some fans want him gone for Gordon and Deng. LUCKILY for us the Bulls woulod only part with Gordon and for us it was "No Deng, No Deal". So we start off with a 10-9 record and then Bynum starts to emerge as a force.Oh yeah and we dumped off Cook for Ariza as well. At this point we're 26-11 (I think). And then the inconceiveable happens. Bynum goes down. Then Ariza. Fans start to panic. Is it time to trade LO for Marion? But wait! Mitch pulls out his magic wand and lands us Gasol for Kwame, yes you heard right Kwame and Critt+fillers. LakekNation is goin crazy at this point while other teams are pressing the panic button and making trades just because we pulled off the biggest steal in history. And now we're in the playoffs and up 3-0 on Denver. |

i'm so glad i was wrong about JO. there's absolutely NO WAY that a kobe/JO combo would've been able to match up to allen/pierce/garnett. after their trades, both teams would've fought for all the prime free agents searching for rings, and i would assume that most would probably have gone to the celtics.
the one bad thing about this season? we've become spoiled by winning so much |

I never wanted O'Neil! I always wanted Pau, 'cause statistically they were the same players, only Pau isn't a injury prone
Quote:
Pau seems more realistic but I wouldn't want to give up Odom for him, ... I'd prefer a package of Bynum, Farmer and Kwame (expiring contract)

That's what I wrote last year! Yeah I was willing to give up Bynum and Farmar, just great that I worked out without giving up our young core! |

And Pau is alot cheaper than Jermaine O'Neal...didn't O'Neal get paid like $20 million a year, while Pau is around $12 or $13 million a year... |

i just figured that kobe and JO would've had better chemistry than a kobe/pau combo.
so glad they proved me wrong.
kobe just plays well with any big; he was working wonders with turiaf too. |

| Man. Can you believe it? This time, last year, Kobe and the Lakers were eliminated by the Suns and Kobe's interview became famous- "Do something and do it now." Now he doesn't want us to do anything. At least not now! |
